This is a total powerhouse Brunello from one of Montalcino's best wineries. It broods for about an hour and then starts drinking just so beautifully. Dark fruits, spice, Cuban tobacco, and a hint of cassis, great balance, and a very long aftertaste make this great bottle of wine. Still a bit before peaking, it has at least 15 years of life left as a significant wine.

Double decanted for regular wine group. No detailed notes but it is nice to have a wine that is the tertiary phase, maybe early who knows. but there are no hard edges, good nose, fruit is alive, some structure that has resolved into more of an herbal spice box. acid is adequate to keep everything on track.

Inky deep crimson color. Almost Port-like nose consisting of dried cranberry, prune, balsamic vinegar and wet forest floor. In the mouth, ripe with almost syrupy concentration, medium (-) tannins with a lot of alcohol heat, a touch of sweetness is followed by firm acidity to keep it balanced. Some medicinal citrus peel funk at the finish. Overall clearly a hot climate wine as expected, and drinking it on an uncomfortably humid and hot evening in NY gives me an illusion that I’m a little more resistant to the early summer heat than I actually am.

Nice. Structure. Undertones. Spice. Fruit. It is a mouthful. Long finish of dark fruit. Drinking great but could go longer I think. Quite happy. First testing of the bbq this season. Pork chops with a nice rub. A little spice. Worked well.

Garnet in color. Nose of raspberry, cranberry, and barn wood. Second nose opens up with wild strawberry, cranberry, leather, and barn wood. Very smooth throughout the palate. Aged very nicely.

Interesting. I'm not sure if it was an off-bottle or if it's corked. It had none of the wet newspaper smell, but it was devoid of fruit and completely different from the last bottle I tasted. Most people would conclude it's just an off-bottle but I'm self-deprecating and now think I'm incompetent at detecting TCA. Either way, this tasting note is no indication of the wine's potential because my last recent bottle was amazing.

Lavender, honey, rhubarb, apple and dark strawberries on the nose. Beautiful dark garnet color with light acidity and tannins. Ripe strawberries, tobacco, blackberries and milk chocolate on the palate.

A lacquered sheen floats across the surface of the wine as it pools in the glass. It’s opaque just as you would expect a Tensley Syrah, but the sheen is beguiling. On the thin rim, a sheet of claret is about the only color. A bouquet of youthful molasses greets the nose along with cherry, cassis, plum and more cassis. A rich, dense mouthfeel glides across the palate delivering everything that is on the nose but with some black pepper and smoke. Cassis dominates the attack. The layers of flavor just keep coming with black pepper present all the way through the very long finish … where … suddenly there is chocolate. Beautiful. Drink up. Sediment so thick and circumnavigating the entire bottle so that you cannot see through it. 14.8% alc. With grilled (beef) hanger steak marinated in soy, garlic and rosemary. 05.19,24. Recommended.

Coravined a couple of small glasses for dessert and enjoyed them through the evening.

Initial moments...deep gold looking sideways at the glass with orange elements to it when you look straight down into it. Nose and palate come across as a tad oxidized/nutty apricot and a bit thin in the mouth. 89-90 tops.

As each glass gains an hour of air, it all changes slightly. It fills out slightly, loses some of its 'thin' character. The nutty oxidized note is cut in half and a little more honeyed orange marmalade note surfaces on both nose and palate. There is some acidity remaining so this can probably go longer but for my palate this isn't near as good as the '01, '03 and '09 vintages have been in the last few years. 92 at the end. Maybe with another hour or two of air it might gain another point, but that's pure speculation on my part......

My first Grand cru Burgundy tasted in several years...
On nose: leather, a mere ghost of castor oil, and fresh cranberries.
On palate: above flavor notes present, with brick dust, a subtle note of black coffee, faint note of tangerine peel, displayed on an authoritative firmly acidic medium body, just beginning to open up, at 12 years of age, after a two hour decant......austere, elegant, with years left to evolve...a very different animal than it's Burgundian brother, a '92 Ruchottes- Chambetin from Remoissenet , reviwed a few years back....a great wine for Grouse, duck, venison....and slightly softened, when in the company of chicken pot pie, yams and carrot/ kale veg medley this evening....last bottle at my wine merchant.

2015 Willamette Pinot from Big Table Farm. Beautiful. Singing. Pours with medium density and color. Floral red fruit, dragon fruit, pomegranate nose with some dusty red twizzler. Entry is pretty floral, dusty red rose with honey crisp apple, cherry twizzler, oregano. Acidity was legit, but in check. The midpalate added some orange peel. The finish is softer without a doubt, with dusty tannin. Dusty kind of seems like the common descriptor here. This wine went awesome with smoked cheddar cheese, but surprisingly clashed with rosemary asiago (one of my faves) as the orange peel note in this wine really jumps out and slaps you! If you have these (and I was surprised that I did... purchased December 2017 for $50 and would do it all over again at that price), it's time to start drinking these. I can sense this was happy go lucky bracing acidity floral red fruit in its youth, but has added 1-2 dimensions since. This does have some sediment starting to accumulate in the bottom so tannin is starting to definitely fall out. Betcha that didn't exist 4 years ago.

Huge Bedrock fan (top 3 in my cellar) and love the aging potential. All are great at any age, but very few are peaking early. There are many comments that this is an early peaker. I disagree and say that it’s delicious but will get so much better with time.

It looks like raspberry juice and has a lovely perfume of raspberry and vanilla. Toward the end of the bottle the bouquet gets a captivating herbal note. In the mouth there is lovely, clean and fresh fruit in a light to medium body. The NSG grip comes to bear gradually and with elegance. Oooh...this might age well, but probably won't last in my cellar.

Pretty good. 60% Grenache, 25% carignan, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Syrah.

Pale ruby color is gorgeous

Sour cherry jumps out of the glass on pouring. Preserved fruits, plum. Smoke, vanilla, licorice. Dried fruits and some fig and oxidation from a little bit of age.

Same on the palate, but not as intense as the smell was unfortunately. The finish is lovely and gives caramel and preserved fruits. Lasts a while.

Can age some more, but might not be everyone’s favorite. Almost full bodied, high acidity, lots of super smooth, pleasant tannin

This aged really well in cellar for four years. Tannins are fully tamed. Still dark fruit forward. This wine probably won’t improve further, but would also still be great for 2-4 more years if cellared well.

12.5% abv, light, dry finish with good fruit, unlike many rieslings due to how dry it is, drank with salmon cakes with potato salad, not great complexity but a joy to drink, bought at wine shop in Rudesheim, a bit thin but that is part of its charm, would drink again.

Astonishingly good, with endless waves of apricot compote and burnt sugar. Enough acid to keep it lovely. Not a lot of botrytis in nose. Finish lasts minutes. Drink now with subtle dessert or cheese to show it off.

Absolutely fantastic. Thrilled at this mottle, as I bought it at auction in 2010 and could be sure of provenance until today. Corked was soaked, and this worried me, but the wine was not only instinct, it was perfect. It poured like a far younger wine, lots of color, nose and body - slight drying, but that was the style. The excitement of the night
