This one had quite the mouth feel - blackberries, forest floor, acid , extra tannins

Archetypical Rosso - great QPR

Good to good+. This was solid and seemed a proper bottle, I liked it, but it just had a stoicism that didn't take it to the level that I was hoping for.

A 30 minute decant and this was good to go. Burnished garnet. All secondary aromatics of blackberry fruit with some leather, tobacco and spice notes. On the palate, secondary flavours of very dark fruit, with umami, iodine and a touch of anise. Mouthwatering acidity with some grippy tannins outlasting the fruit on the longish finish so best consumed with some aged cheeses or heartier dishes. The old vines bearing the fruit for this wine have produced something with tremendous longevity and durability. I have been quite impressed with every bottle enjoyed of this over the past 15 years or so. A poor man's Grange perhaps but delicious in its own right. Bravo.

In a great place. Has some spearmint and dense, sappy orchard fruits. The palate is rich, powerful and layered. There’s plenty of spice and the finish is minerally and long.

Tasty and very enjoyable, some dark fruits and a long finish. Still young.

Close to undrinkable. Bizarre, with notes of plum, earth floor and yet still has acid. Unbalanced, though drinkable with a larger pour. A bit of Stockholm syndrome wine. 75-80. Avoid. Probably poor storage.

Ok. Nothing really exceptional. Easy to drink.

Looked a lot older than a 2020. Plenty of tropical fruits and some bruised apple sneaking in.

Tried this on a recommendation from my local wine shop. Really enjoyed this wine and great value. It had medium acidity with relatively smooth tannins. It had a strong aroma and had notes and tastes of cinnamon, licorice, oregano, blackberry. It went well with our lasagna and will be getting more bottles. It drinks great now but another year or two won't hurt it either.

As fans of Rhône whites this was excellent with surprising depth of flavor.

Juicy. Not much depth. Acidic but still easy to drink PnP.

Relatively tight and compact but breathes up beautifully. Has some spearmint, green melon, white peach, and lemon. Perfectly ripe fruits play on a chalky base. It is fine, elegant and beautifully balanced. The finish is precise and persistent.

Edition 44.
I’ve actually had this wine quite a few times as it is my friend’s favourite. Each time I’ve had I had very different impression of the wine and I could probably score it between 87 and 91 depending on the occasion.
Medium gold colour and fine bubbles show pedigree.
Fruit character is quite ripe with yellow apple and banana. The nose is dominated by lees character, however, but it’s not similar to that of Champagne: dry cottage cheese, sour cream, and only distant croissant. There is also butter and fresher cream character.
On the palate, the mousse is not very expressive but it could be a tired bottle. Lemon and crisp apple acidity. A little bit of baked apple.
Leesy bitterness continues into the finish.
8+/18

Slightly reticent nose opens up to reveal an explosive flavour profile: violet, blackberry, plum, tar, earth, tobacco, vanilla, baking spice, nutmeg, anise. Good balance and lengthy finish; tannins fully integrated. Could age further but in a lovely place right now. Drink and enjoy.

A strange wine, with an almost new world sweetness of fruit. A bit forward, with some honey sneaking into the flavour profile. The wine’s acidity sits off the fruit a little.

Medium lemon. Med(+) aromas of ripe lemon, lemon pith, grapefruit, bread, flint, matchstick, creme brûlée. Medium body, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, long finish. A lot of fruit intensity and a long lemony finish with a slight bitterness that reminds me of citrus pith on the palate. Quite a bit of new oak and lees contact characters but it is so well integrated with intense primary characters. It has creamy texture making it rich but with its lively acidity and freshness, it doesn’t feel heavy or big. Very tasty now but would age gracefully in the next 10 years. 94/95+

On the nose, perfumed, blackberry, herbaceous notes. On the palate, ton of blackberry, strawberry rhubarb and violet notes. Light to medium weight with long strawberry finish.,

Very tight and backwards. Super steely line. Light citrus aromas and flavours. A touch of spice. Compact, powerful and very long. Needs time.

Tasted after 40 minutes of air. Starting to open. Piercing acidity. Dried apples. Plenty of oomph here. Nice floral notes. Seashells and salt. Went perfect with our trip to Poipu Beach on Kauai. Needs time to show its best.

Stinky, ugly and just repulsive. It has a bouquet not dissimilar from getting hit with a giant blast of pepper spray. Revulsion and vomiting follows. Tasted by 5 other people with varying degrees of wine sophistication. They all agreed it smelled like the devil’s arsehole and tasted even worse.

I cannot tell you where they acquired that specific knowledge, but I can confirm that this wine is as awful as every other Foillard wine I’ve had in the last 5 years. It is a disgusting stew of Brett, faulty winemaking posing as ‘AFWE’ and arrogance.

Before anyone complains that I’m judging a flawed bottle, I will tell you that this tastes like every other shïtty bottle of Foillard I’ve ever had. It’s not a flaw, but a feature.

Absolutely disgusting.

Used the 2002 vintage in 2003 for our wedding. Have always been partial to this wine. Will always continue to purchase it. Good price to quality ratio.

Incredibly youthful and quite wonderful. Piecing citrus and white peach fruits. Flinty mineral notes and some light florals. Deep and penetrating, compact and long. Wonderful cut and drive and so much dry extract.

I really enjoyed this. It has a pale-yellow straw color. On the nose, it's a bit closed but I do get a bit of funk, gooseberry, guava, and lychee along with wet rock/slate. On the palate, it's bursting with acidity and minerality/salinity along with nice citrus and tropical fruit. Nice gooseberry, grapefruit, guava, and passion fruit notes. Medium-long finish. It's a very nice food wine, very refreshing.

Such an enjoyable wine as a change of pace. Texas proud quality grapes like Mourvèdre can be harvested and made into such a complex wine. AB Astris has this down to a science. Nose of dark fruit and smoke, on the palate theres boysenberry, cherry and a hint of cassis. Lingering finish tops this off.

A mild, lingering burn betrays the heat of the vintage, but the craftsmanship of the Lisini house carries the day. Still needs a 90 minute decent to show well. Open, giving, earthy, food friendly. Well into peak, but years away from decline. Drink or hold.

This is a really great Chardonnay. Light colour but great fruit. All sorts of classic Chardonnay flavours. Lots of oak and butterscotch. I bought this 5 years ago but should keep for another 5 to allow the deep rich flavours develope.

This is an interesting wine. Very cool that it is kosher and from Cyprus. Somewhat similar to a Sauvignon Blanc or Albarino. Very pale straw color. Citrusy and floral notes along with Asian pear on the nose. I got a nice jasmine green tea note when I tasted it a few days later. On the palate, it was bright and refreshing with decent acidity and notes of honeydew melon. It just tastes slightly watery, but then again it's only 12% ABV so it's basically what you would come to expect.
