A little dull but maybe as it only stood for a couple of hours before opening. Hints of dried mushroom and green pepper which follows through on a great palate. Fully integrated, maybe showing just a little too much age, but lovely lovely wine with a longish, lingering finish.

More aromatic, leather, tobacco nose. More full-bodied than Californian.Tannin so still has aging potential.

Chocolate dominates here with an endearing berry compote. So rich and decadent, this makes me think of hot chocolate after ice skating in my childhood winters. Delish!

White orchard fruit, citrus, stony, straight, a wine which can go on for another 1 if not 2 decades.

Superdark Color, nose of very ripe fruit. Charming bouquet of dark fruit. Dark chocolate. Very dry. Slightly overripeness. Medium finish, but no signs of age. Will hold for a couple of more years.

Bel naso di fiori secchi, caffè, caramello, mela
In bocca pieno e fruttato, soprattutto mela, buona acidità
Bollicina non molto fine ma nel complesso una bevuta gradevole e più corpo di quanto ci si aspetterebbe

Burgundy arrivage 22 tasting, no detailed notes taken.
Presented itself in a amazing shape, vibrant and with a wonderful nose of fresh and frutiy nose, yet already complex and wooden flavours greatly integrated. WOW, this and especially the Grand Cru Clos de la Roche of Coquard outperformed many other big names.

Side notes: Thomas Collardot started harvesting early, on 3 September.
Most of the wines were pressed with approx. 20% whole bunches. The proportion of new wood varies between 30 % in the Villages appellations and 50 % in the Grands Crus.

Viura of the Finca La Emperatriz, of vineyards between 50 and 65 years old at 570 meters above sea level, of floors of frank-sand structure and with a surface layer of 40 cm of white boulder. It ferments in a concrete tank and in 225 L oak barrels, where it remains for 4 months on its lees. Ageing of 8 months in French oak barrels (1/3 new, 1/3 of a wine and 1/3 of two wines) and 8 months in concrete. Mature white grotto, floral, chamomile, citrus, fresh, tasty, creamy, wide, elegant and long.

In line with the one a month ago: pear, some honey, citrus, fully mature wine, pretty dense with good tension and length. Would not wait any longer.

Ch d'Issan is a big favorite of mine, regarding wine from the Margaux appelation. Vintage 2016 is really great at the moment, this was part of a 14 wine tasting, and I think it punches above it's price range. Great complexity, wonderful Cabernet Sauvignon fruit, it just feels expensive, different layers, nice acidity with some lingering tannins. Drink or hold

Tasting room: another “delicious” from both of us. Nice and dry. A little grassy at the moment so would probably mellow out with some aging. Liked the dragons tooth more but this is good

Tasting room: wow, first sip both of us said “this is really good”. Pretty dry, so it hits big. Not overly jammy but great fruit flavor.

Ripe orchard fruit, not a lot of tension, below its level, disappointing.

Quite interesting fresh berryish taste, one member of our team regarded it rather like acid lingonberry juice, but another one could appreciate its tender briskness.

Much more restrained and subtle than the youthful, more sprightly Chablis. This wants you to slow down and take your time, and warm a bit out of the fridge. Reticent on the nose, some lime and grapefruit rind on the palette with rounded mouthfeel and medium saline finish.

At 17 years it is over the hill and although drinkable it is not a great pleasure anymore. All fruit is gone and the rest is not good enough to make up for it.

Citrus, mineral, high density and very long. Here the terroir is more important than the variety. Opened 2 hours before degustation, so much wine in the glass.

Eight years and still fresh and fruity. No adverse signs of age and just a sparkling juice of sweet red berries that I would never had guessed hold a full 15 percent of alcohol. Went quite well with grilled chicken on an early summer Sunday.

In my opinion, the best wine in our Bourdeaux tasting (total 14 wines). Vintage 2014 was a difficult vintage, but this really shows some wonderful comlexity, different layers and wonderful minerality. Had it 2 - 3 h in a caraffe before serving. Just great rigth now!

From magnum. Six hour decant. This is drinking fantastically. WOTN. Complex and layered. The oak is well integrated and the finish is long and satisfying. Many great years ahead for this wine.

Second day
Color: Rich transparent medium-gold with a green streak
Nose: Honey, Petrol, kumquats and mead
Palate: This just feels a tad tired, medium to light-bodied. Petrol but not unpleasant. Viscose texture. A shadow of a lemon driven attack on the finish that tastes a wee boozy.
Would have loved to sample on the first day, but I think this shouldn't wait in the cellar any longer, probably was better a few years ago.

Intensely vivid perfume of red and black cherries, blueberry, wild hedgerow and violets, with suggestions of roast espresso and gamebird. The palate is powerful and driven, with a bracing line of fresh acidity, finely milled tannins and endless persistency. A bit more structured and serious than my last bottle, but superb.

Decanted for two hours (which I recommend). Cinnamon, dark berries, graphite, vanilla, perfumed florals, and green pepper. Modern and energetic on the body. Great length on the finish. Clearly well made with a long life ahead. Would guess young Napa by a classic producer if it was served blind.

I’d recommend holding, but give it a generous decant if you must try one today.

Not decanted, drunk over 2 days. Very powerful and full-bodied. The wine was a little more balanced on the second day (over night in the fridge with argon gas) and better overall. 92 pts. on the first day, 92+ pts. on the second. Even if it is not extremely complex, the wine is still a lot of fun.

Popped and poured, previously stored at 45°. Cork came off easily enough with an Ah-so, but left some fragments so I ran it through a steel strainer as I poured it.

A vibrant golden caramel color, hues of red, orange - a fire in the glass. Very little leg.

On the nose - honey, caramel, butterscotch, roasted nuts. A great dessert treat. Hints of a good sherry.

On the palate - as it is the oldest Sauternes I've had to date, I wasn't sure what to expect! I've had 05, 10, 15, 16 etc - nothing older than 20 years so far. I found the balance of the wine to be ideal - the acidity, the heat, the body, the sweetness all in a pleasing harmony, none calling attention to themselves loudly. Medium body to me, not as thick as I expected at the age. The flavors - nutty, toasted marshmallows, vanilla, caramel - a delicious pastry in liquid form. A pleasing finish.

Pretty amazing. Stony, peppery plum and allusions to mint, leather, and milk chocolate. The texture is lovely, but still feels young honestly.

This is developing quite nicely. Has rounded out and deepened since bottle drank over two years ago. Showing Chablis typicity. Minerally lemon curd. Textured and complex. Will add to note on day two.
