Introduction

Six of us gathered on a beautiful Friday evening to celebrate ckinv368's birthday. Our venue for the evening was Farnatchi and our mission was a to enjoy each others company over a casual 5 hour dinner. The food was good (especially the four cheese pizza!), the wines all performed surprisingly wine sans one corked bottle and the company as always was stellar. Here are the results of the wines:

Light yellow to yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout with medium, steady beading. Nose of orange spritz, kumquat and sea foam. Flavors of pear, apple, kumquat and minerals. Bright acidity, full bodied. Drink or hold.

Light yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of ash, grapefruit and light notes of lime. Flavors of peach, grapefruit and lime. Bright acidity, light body. Drink over the short term.

Light garnet color in the glass, little dusty looking. Nose of leather, spice, camphor and a bit of pepper. Flavors of tart berries, raspberries, cherries and a bit of spice. Tart acidity, resolved tannins, medium to full body. Drink now.

Garnet color in the glass with a little brownish twinge here and there, fairly clear looking. Nose of saddle leather, truffle, spice and dried herbs. Flavors of berries, raspberries, cherries and a bit of mushroom. Medium to tangy acidity, medium tannins, full bodied. Drink or hold.

Dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose started with a little smoke, a little dried herbs, then onto attractive aromas of roses with a hint of tobacco. Flavors or berries, cherries and raspberries. Medium to tangy acidity, medium tannins, medium to full bodied. Drink or hold.

Based on the color, clarity and nose of this wine I immediately cried "Real?" I couldn't believe this wine was so youthful in the glass. Everything from foil to cork to label to palate seem legit but I'm really still amazed.

Medium to tart acidity, medium tannins, medium to full bodied. Drink or hold. I'd likely drink. Seems in a good place.

Garnet to dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose was a "grapey" berry aroma with black cherries and plums. Flavors of berries, raspberries and plums. Medium acidity, medium tannins, medium to full bodied. Drink or hold. This bottle showed better than the last bottle I had.

Dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of aspirin, white pepper, sandlewood and plum. Flavors of berries, cherries and raspberries. Bright acidity, firm tannins, full bodied. Drink now with plenty of air or continue to hold.

Dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. "Boozy" nose of Kirsch, currants, nuts and melted black licorice. Flavors of currants, berries and candied plums. Medium acidity, full bodied alrightly. Drink now with plenty of air time or continue to hold.

The cork was compromised but the contents didn't suffer in the least.
