White
2000 François Raveneau Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru

Very refined nose, with some light flavours of citrus and stone. Palate is reserved and balanced. Slightly chalky texture. Absolutely fabulous.
Red
1968 Giacomo Borgogno & Figli Barolo Riserva Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo

Original bottling (not a re-release). An absolutely correct nose of dried roses. The palate was a bit weak however, with tons of acidity and not much else. Tannins have totally vanished at this point. A textbook example of old Barolo.
Red
1996 Poderi Aldo Conterno Barolo Bussia Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo
flawed
Musty nose with a hint of balsamic. Weird and unpleasant palate.
Red
2001 Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco Riserva Pora Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barbaresco
93 points
Dark in colour. A spicy nose with lots of dark red fruit. Slightly vegetal on the palate -- this is still very tight and young with plenty of dark fruit flavours. Moderately tannic. Tons of potential.
Red
1996 Robert Craig Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder USA, California, Napa Valley, Mt. Veeder

Tasted blind (I pegged it for an early 00's Barolo based on the earthy and fruity nose, though the tannins didn't feel right). The palate came off a little hollow and lacking in concentration, though there were quite some nice fruit flavours. Very light tannins that didn't have too much grip.
Red
1990 Bruno Giacosa Barolo Villero di Castiglione Falletto Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo
flawed
Some said this was corked though I didn't get any TCA. On the other hand, this was not as expressive as I would have expected it be. The nose and palate were both very dull.
White
2011 Wind Gap Wines Pinot Gris Windsor Oaks Vineyard USA, California, Sonoma County, Chalk Hill

Pink salmon colour. Strawberry juice! Absolutely delicious -- very fresh and fruity.
White - Sweet/Dessert
2009 Dönnhoff Oberhäuser Brücke Riesling Eiswein Germany, Nahe

#36-10, 7.5% abv. From half bottle. Very concentrated -- extract of Bruecke. Impeccable balance between the intense fruit, sweetness, mineral, and acidity. Awesome stuff as always.

Red
2012 Pierre Gonon Ardèche Les Iles Feray France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Ardèche
85 points
A nose of both black and green spices (black peppercorns and anise). Very austere with earth and dirt notes dominating. Missing the fruit, especially for such a young wine. Not my thing.
Red
2004 Nicolas Potel Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Gaudichots France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
70 points
2004 rears its ugly head. Thin, green, and stemmy. No.
White - Sparkling
2004 Bruno Giacosa Spumante Extra Brut Italy, Lombardia, Lombardia Spumante
90 points
Quite the interesting sparkler. Lots of chalky character. The palate is somewhat bitter with some good chalk character again. Not the most expressive or intense bottle, but this is quite delicious indeed.
