Flight 1 (1 note)

White
2012 Domaine Roulot Meursault Les Vireuils France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault
Popped and poured. Vibrant citrus, crushed stones and white floral on both the nose and palate. Full of energy with a long explosive finish. Delicious!

Flight 2 (2 notes)

Red
2001 Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Opened roughly 30 minutes before serving; no decant. Best bottle yet I've tasted if this. A very aromatic and seductive mix of red and black raspberry with some cherry notes as well. Mild brown spice and mineral notes too. Very expansive on the palate with a long seamless finish.
Red
2002 Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Opened roughly 30 minutes before serving; no decant. Another great showing for this wine, but a step behind the 01 tonight. Plush, ripe red raspberry and cherry with almost Vosne like brown spice pouring out of the glass. Wonderful texture on the palate with a long spicy finish.

Flight 3 (2 notes)

Red
1996 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Opened roughly 60 minutes before serving; no decant. Very dark, deep color. Powerful ripe black cherry on the nose and palate with fine mineral notes as well. A bit of crushed earth and a seductive mix of dark brown spices. Much better and more giving than my bottle almost two ago to the date (at the same restaurant!).
Red
1997 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Opened roughly 60 minutes before serving; no decant. Another of the library release bottles from early 2012. Showing ripe dark cherry and slight plum with medium brown spice. Slight wet tobacco note. Not as powerful as some others I've had from the same cases, but those had much more air. Still quite delicious though.

Flight 4 (2 notes)

Red
1998 Domaine G. Roumier / Christophe Roumier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Opened roughly 90 minutes before serving; no decant. Amazing aromatics right from the start. Red and black cherry and berry intermixed with Asian spice and a crushed stone. The mineral notes and fruit profile carried through onto the palate as well. Nice grip on the backend with great acidity all throughout. In a wonderful spot now, but will continue to hold.
Red
1999 Domaine G. Roumier / Christophe Roumier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Opened roughly 90 minutes before serving; no decant. A bit more reserved aromatically than the 98 in the next glass, but plusher on the palate. More black fruit than red, but again with the Asian spice components. The mineral structure stayed pretty much buried under the ripe fruit until it emerged in the finish. Lovely now and I hope to get a chance to revisit down the road.
