Introduction
Digitizing old hasty notes to throw away piles of paper. Really, really hasty tasting impressions.
Flight 1 (45 notes)
White - Sparkling
2008 Jean Noel Gagnard Crémant de Bourgogne Grand Lys
Tasting, hasty impression. Super toasty and fizzy, good cut through heavy brioche. Pretty darn good. Too big?
White - Sparkling
N.V. Domaine des Baumard Crémant de Loire Carte Turquoise
Tasting, hasty impression. Becch! Bad Chenin-y, not for me, lacks cut!
White - Sparkling
N.V. Pierre Sparr Crémant d'Alsace Marquis de Perlade Blanc de Blancs Brut
Tasting, hasty impression. Nose of sewage/weed? Not showing well right now!
White - Sparkling
N.V. Domaine de la Louvetrie (Landron & Fils) Atmosphéres
Tasting, hasty impression. Weedy nose, sort of fun, but not a fully developed wine to drink at this point that can sustain interest? Sort of clean but plain. I suppose it's nice anyhow.
Red
2007 Luciano Sandrone Barolo Le Vigne
Tasting, hasty impression. Big super drying and tannic but seriously delicious, big ol' juicy tire earthiness, great wine.
White
2008 Domaine des Baumard Savennières
Tasting, hasty impression. Nose is very green and sweet violet; palate is weird, oxidative violet and thin green? Not showing well today.
Red
2007 Château du Trignon Gigondas
Tasting, hasty impression. Comes across as more early drinking, modern crap. Hot burn on the finish. Pass.
Red
2009 Domaine du Vieux Lazaret Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Tasting, hasty impression. Comes across as modern, early-drinking crap. Not built to age? Hot a bit, boring to my palate.
Red
2010 Domaine de Villeneuve Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Vieilles Vignes
Tasting, hasty impression. This wine is okay. Neither offensive nor impressive at this early juncture.
Red
2010 Jean-Michel Stephan Côte-Rôtie
Tasting, hasty impression. Nose comes across as a super natural, anti SO4, flower poop sort of thing. Palate offers olive tapenade and lily.
White
2010 Jean-Claude Bessin Chablis Vieilles Vignes
Tasting, hasty impression. Wow, big seashell, thick but tasty, not too acid. I like it!
White
2010 Jean-Claude Bessin Chablis Grand Cru Valmur
Tasting, hasty impression. Initial tangy, acid green nose. Not much seashell aromatically...still great.
White
2010 Simon Bize Bourgogne Blanc
Tasting, hasty impression. Rich but weightless; nice use of oak. I like it.
White
2010 Simon Bize Savigny-lès-Beaune Blanc
Tasting, hasty impression. Big oak--just needs time? Nice spice.
White
Red
2010 Domaine Michel Lafarge Bourgogne Passetoutgrains L'Exception
Tasting, hasty impression. Very green palate! Refreshing, though.
Red
2010 Comte Armand Pommard 1er Cru Clos des Epeneaux
Tasting, hasty impression. Tight cherry; tire, rubber; light and lithe. A noble vineyard indeed, rendering a noble wine.
White
2010 Domaine Bruno Clair Marsannay Blanc
Tasting, hasty impression. 20% Pinot Blanc. Nice, the acid refreshes with a touch of oaky spice.
Red
2010 Domaine Bruno Clair Marsannay Les Vaudenelles
Tasting, hasty impression. Quite open and friendly; a touch simple.
Red
2010 Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Clos de la Maréchale
Tasting, hasty impression. Thin but tannic, foreboding a touch; strawberry and dark cherry; heat? Not ready!

White
2011 Roger Lassarat Saint Véran Cuvée Plaisir
Tasting, hasty impression. Ick! Peanutty nose. I'll pass. This is allegedly emblematic of underripe fruit.
White
2010 Françoise & Denis Clair Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Champlots Blanc
Tasting, hasty impression. Nice; oak and spice and green. Hard not to swallow; tasty! The oak-inflected spice brings to mind cinnamon tea a bit?
White
2010 Domaine Patrick Javillier Bourgogne Blanc Cuvée des Forgets
Tasting, hasty impression. Round, friendly, oak present; well-balanced. Solid wine.
Red
2010 Domaine Patrick Javillier Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Grands Liards
Tasting, hasty impression. Insane skunky/asphalt reductive earthy nose. Palate is a biting asphalt; no fruit; not too generous or pleasant.
Red
2010 Jean Noel Gagnard Chassagne-Montrachet L'Estimee
Tasting, hasty impression. Light color; very acid and strawberry.
White
2010 Pierre Morey Bourgogne Blanc
Tasting, hasty impression. Meh, too much oak on nose. Tangy acid; meh.
White
2010 Pierre Morey Meursault
Tasting, hasty impression. Better than Bourgogne, okay, but: still too oaky?
Red
2010 Pierre Morey Monthélie
Tasting, hasty impression. Served way too cold; still oaky, tannic and biting; not generous. Second warmer glass: bitey, woody a bit, green a bit. More expressive. Will be good with time I'd wager.
White
2010 Morey-Blanc Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Blanc
Tasting, hasty impression. Big oak presence but better than previous Morey whites, great refreshing acid.
White
2010 Morey-Blanc Meursault 1er Cru Charmes
Tasting, hasty impression. Tasty. Big oak presence but a very classy wine.
White
2010 Château de Puligny-Montrachet Bourgogne Blanc Clos du Château
Tasting, hasty impression. Okay. Big oaky nose, supple palate. All in all a good wine.
Red
2009 Château de Puligny-Montrachet Monthélie
Tasting, hasty impression. Not bad, a bit one-dimensional; wonder about aging potential?
Red
2009 Château de Puligny-Montrachet Pommard
Tasting, hasty impression. Not bad, a bit one-dimensional; wonder about aging potential?
White
2010 Deux Montille Chardonnay Bourgogne
Tasting, hasty impression. Nice balance; respectable oak regimen. Pretty good.

White
2010 Deux Montille Montagny 1er Cru Les Coères Blanc
Tasting, hasty impression. Great acid. This is very, very nice.
White
2008 Deux Montille Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Sous Frétille Blanc
Tasting, hasty impression. Nice: oak tactile, but a friendly attack and palate. A bit monolithic though, but a classic white Burg.
White
2010 Domaine de Montille Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Le Cailleret
Tasting, hasty impression. Wow, this is delicious, but wow, is it ever expensive. Clearly an overperforming 1er cru, but still.
Red
2010 Domaine de Montille Beaune 1er Cru Les Sizies
Tasting, hasty impression. Young and savage, cedar nose a bit, but light and this will be very nice once ready!
Red
2010 Domaine Michel Gros Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits
Tasting, hasty impression. Light, acid, bacon, raspberry fruit, nice!
Red
2010 Domaine Michel Gros Nuits St. Georges
Tasting, hasty impression. Nice, light, clear, acid but tasty. I'd bet these wines would sell better with better labels.
White
2010 Pride Mountain Vineyards Viognier
Tasting, hasty impression. Nose is way too big, hot, green, floral. Palate is all lanolin, empty; slight heat.
Red
2009 Pride Mountain Vineyards Merlot
Tasting, hasty impression. Not bad. Hot, bit too sweet; green with herbs.

Red
2009 Kazmer and Blaise Pinot Noir Primo's Hill
Tasting, hasty impression. Big, slightly hot Cali Pinot, brown sugar palate. Bit too big and hot and syrupy for this Old World palate.
