Introduction

I brough the du Tertre.
For the rest I tasted all wines blind.

Flight 1 (12 notes)

White
2008 Weingut Pfeffingen Ungsteiner Herrenberg Riesling Kabinett trocken Germany, Pfalz
84 points
Clean bouquet with some citrus, honey and minerals as well as a little petrol. On the palate the minerals (flint stone) are the most up front. There is also pleasant citrus.
White
2007 Dr. von Bassermann-Jordan Riesling Probus Germany, Pfalz
86 points
Clean bouquet with apple and some honey. Quite tasteful with citrus, tropical flavors, some sweet impressions of yellow melon and lemon in the finish. Pleasant and refreshing dry wine.
White
2007 Friedrich Becker Schweigener Sonnenberg Weissburgunder 'In der Enggasse' Germany, Pfalz
87 points
Tropical bouquet with citrus, melon and honey. On the palate a bit fat. A lot of tropical fruits, peach and pear. Quite much sweetness and some bitterness in the finish.
White
2008 Müller-Catoir Haardter Herrenletten Grauburgunder Kabinett trocken Germany, Pfalz
89 points
Minerals in the bouquet. In the start still just a little bit sparkling. Soft citrus and tropical flavors. Full bodied. Long finish with a little bitterness and a lot of honey. Really good.
White
2008 Dr. Bürklin-Wolf Wachenheimer Böhlig Riesling Germany, Pfalz
90 points
At first the bouquet is a bit locked. A little later it opens up and then there are minerals, some honey and citrus. On the palate apples and citrus (in that order.) After a while in the glass it shows more layers and complexity. Beautiful and elegant wine.
White
2007 Dr. Wehrheim Chardonnay Spätlese trocken Germany, Pfalz
88 points
Expressive and friendly bouquet with some flowers. On the palate a slightly sweet start followed by apples, bananas and good citrus. Pleasant and dry finish.
Red
2007 Friedrich Becker Spätburgunder Trocken Germany, Pfalz
85 points
Clearly a Spätburgunder bouquet with strawberries and some earthy impressions. Same on the palate with some other red forest fruits and minerals. Easy drinking and friendly wine. Completely ready; no real hurry.
Red
2005 Weingut Ökonomierat Rebholz vom Muschelkalk Spätburgunder Trocken "R" Germany, Pfalz
85 points
Very special and a bit stinky bouquet with toasted oak. On the palate there is some licorice, but overall the fruit has some problems with the 2 years of new oak the wine has had. It is something special. Not sure if I like it.
White - Off-dry
2005 Dr. von Bassermann-Jordan Ruppertsberger Reiterpfad Riesling Auslese Germany, Pfalz
Elegant sweetness. A lot of ripe white fruits like pears, peach and leeches. In the finish light acidity and some honey. I forgot to score the wine.
White - Sweet/Dessert
1999 Darting Dürkheimer Spielberg Scheurebe Beerenauslese Germany, Pfalz
89 points
Caramel, orange peel, dried apricots, raisins, Fairly light bodied. Not really much acidity.
Red
1998 Château du Tertre France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux
89 points
No formal notes, but this was a beautiful bottle. Mature but still powerful and enough good tannin for another 3+ years. 89+
