Got some snap but pretty clean ... then the green apples swoop in.

Strong apple notes; a pinch of macerated oregano. Short but symmetrical for what it is, even if it's not what you'd expect.

Fennel sausage on the nose. Smokey green pepper. Very light weight. Would be great with grilled sausages.

Beautiful. Brings cheerful depth and a hint of confection. Erratic harmony.

Really have to tease out the bouquet. but great salinity; a tad sour on the finish.

Effusive nose. Classic profile but uneven. Some of the candy corn notes we're seeing in this producer (or at least in the Perrieres). Medium bodied but currents of earthy density. Too ripe but not holistically ripe.

This wine works. Bouquet to finish consistently classic cab franc: green pepper, black olive, gathered twigs. If I could tweak anything, I'd add a dollop of fruit. The [super knowledgeable] Kermit Lynch rep likes these cooler vintages best ... I'm somewhere in the middle. How great this would be in a blend with the '03!

Sun kissed fruit. Compared to other vintages, this is nice and big ... it's even woven with dark, shiny, liquor-like threads.

Tertiary aged characteristics on the bouquet but still hits a line drive with the fruit and its reminiscents of energy. Well balanced and harmonious within its restrictive profile.

Nicely intense with sappy fruit and plenty of vegetal verve. Hints of roasted meats. The body here is held in the thinnest, most transparent sensory casing of peppermint candy cane. Long and exciting. Likely to hold or even improve for a couple of years. Drink now-2023.

The most prominent green pepper on the bouquet and the spiciest profile of this spot-checked 8-vintage vertical. Beautiful berry fruit, lighter on its feet than others, and with a finish that just keeps humming along until it eventually finally spins out like a top. Fantastic and not going to get any better. Enjoyably funky. Herbal and earthy. Very Soft Texture. Same candy corn finish as other vintages. A gentle, heart-warming winter drinker. Doesn't have the backbone to pair with food as well as most vintages of Les Perrieres, but you could try it with a mild hard cheese. Drink now.
