Complete and very much in harmony. En danseuse, and tasted blind, I was thinking chambolle. On day 2 it is richer, more full bodied, still very elegant.

Flight 3 (1 note)

Red
2005 Thibault Liger-Belair Nuits St. Georges La Charmotte France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges

Straight forward and very pleasing. A simple wine, sweet, light, delicate with me herbal notes. Unchanged on day 3 after opening, no hurry here …

Flight 4 (2 notes)

Red
2005 Domaine de la Vougeraie Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Damodes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
92 points
Some sous bois here, spicy, but also sweet, creamy, vibrant, even airy. Stood very well in this tough crowd, a surpise for all, and even on day 3 a delight to drink, no signs of fatigue.

2005 Domaine Bertheau (Pierre et François) Bonnes Mares France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru

Spicy, quite rich, more so than elegant; dark fruit, a bit closed, but while other wines from this tasting survived fine even on day 3, this had a wee bit of an oxized feeling. 89?

Flight 10 (2 notes)

Red
2005 Domaine Denis Mortet Clos Vougeot France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
94 points
A bit petillant, bot oh dear, this hits the spot;, vibrant, very much on the pinot nerve, en danseuse. Love it. A bit dark, roasted at the end, but still … on Day 2, this is still a cut above the Lavoux St. Jacques, more vibrant, mineral, intense, lively – a wine with identity. Great. 94+ points

Petillant when just opened. A little bit less concentrated than the Vougeot. Sweet, a bit polished, but only in the highest level. On day 2 much better, smooth, creamy, polished but on a high level with excellent fruit indeed. Juicy stuff.
