Small glass, brief note. Lots of apple with toasted brioche and lemon curd hints. Very good weight. So charming and balanced now.

White
2016 Maison Leroy Bourgogne Blanc
88 points
Small glass, brief note. Lots of rich and ripe apple with tropical hints. Impressive weight for its level.
White
2000 Henri Boillot Chevalier-Montrachet
93 points
Small glass, brief note. Served double blind. Clearly ripe vintage white Burg with wonderful richness, weight and freshness. The rare Boillot that is older than it tastes. So good.
Red
2015 Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Clos de la Maréchale
90 points
Small glass, brief note. Black and red cherry with good weight, very good balance. Sneaky structure adds more nuance. Good now with upside.
White
2008 Hubert Lamy Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet
flawed
Impressive richness but woefully lacking freshness.
White
2002 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru Valmur
89 points
Small glass, brief note. Served blind. Came across as old-ish, ripe white Burg, but not very Chablis. Good weight. Tough to find a drinkable 2002 Fevre these days, so well done.
White
2015 Vincent Dauvissat (René & Vincent) Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons
91 points
Small glass, brief note. Very rich with floral character. Enticing nose, slightly backward for now on palate, but with so much potential here.

Red
1999 Domaine Ghislaine Barthod Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Chatelots
Small glass, brief note. At least as much earth as fruit with good weight,
Red
1983 Paul Jaboulet Aîné Crozes-Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert
86 points
Small glass, brief note. Tasted double blind. I thought 1970s Burg with lots of merde. Not a wine I adore.
White
2013 Domaine Bernard Moreau et Fils Chevalier-Montrachet
94 points
Small glass, brief note. Incredibly rich start with floral, spice and ripe apple through. Dense while near perfectly balanced with good+ length. Upside from here.
White
2004 Vincent Dauvissat (René & Vincent) Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons
90 points
Small glass, brief note. Maturing gracefully with a nice combination of ripe and bitter apple character. I’d err on the side of drinking these up.
Red
2002 Emmanuel Rouget Echezeaux
94 points
Small glass, brief note. Tasted twice, tasted blind. So dense and concentrated with more black vs red fruit. Clearly Grand Cru, I thought this 1999. Very complex and unfolding, so good now with upside.
Red
2015 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Chaignots
Small glass, brief note. Slightly candied and certainly fun, but surprisingly simple for its level.
White
2016 Coche-Dury Bourgogne Blanc
89 points
small glass, brief note. Ripe lemon and lemon curd with impressive concentration for its level with sneaky structure as well. Very good now.
Red
2002 Domaine Robert Arnoux / Arnoux-Lachaux Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots
91 points
Small glass, brief note. Served double blind. Seemed more mature than 2002 with good richness showcasing red and black cherry aromas, flavors. Certainly good, but I had better, fresher bottles twice last year.
Red
2001 Alain Hudelot-Noëllat Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots
90 points
Small glass, brief note. Charming and mature red cherry and flavors with savory spice. Good depth and length. Doubt any further upside.
White
2004 Domaine Roulot Meursault Les Luchets
91 points
Small glass, brief note. I have always been a fan of Roulot 2004, and this bottle really delivers. Floral start with apple and just enough earth to make it even more interesting. Mature flavors with plenty of brightness on finish with good length.
Red
1999 Damilano Barolo Riserva
89 points
Small glass, brief note. Served to me blind. Immediately thought it Burgundy from the nose (without tasting). Floral red fruit with earth that made me think it considerably older, but also with slightly rugged tannins on finish. Good fruit but imperfectly balanced for me.
Red
1969 Domaine Thenard Corton-Clos du Roi
94 points
Popped and poured. I like Mary’s Facebook TN so much that I’m borrowing it... this bottle was so beautiful. Smell of the inside of my imaginary grandmother's purse: old leather, lipstick, talcum powder, tobacco, parfum....
My add: Plus enough lingering red fruit. A great bottle for those of us who love old Burgundy.

White
2005 François Raveneau Chablis 1er Cru Monts Mains
88 points
Small glass, brief note. Ripe for Raveneau Chablis with good+ weight, just less minerally or texturally nuanced than I'd prefer or expect, certainly less so than Forests. Still, certainly enjoyable.
White
2005 François Raveneau Chablis 1er Cru Les Forêts
90 points
Small glass, brief note. Ripe apple and lemon with a bright enough edge from middle forward to show typicity. Good+ weight, volume and length. Good now.
