Flight 1 (1 note)

White - Sparkling
2006 Taittinger Champagne Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut France, Champagne
A charming Champagne, crisp and clean. Drinking well now and should certainly remain enjoyable for years to come.

Flight 2 (4 notes)

White
2014 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Abbaye de Morgeot Cuvée Clement Emma France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Very clean and precise, crisp, light mouthfeel with long finish. Intensely stony. Somewhat surprised how very accessible this is as a pop and pour.
White
2014 Bouchard Père et Fils Chevalier-Montrachet Domaine France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru
Steely and stony, with a touch of ripe pear and juicy lychee on the finish. This wine seems like it will go the distance, so drink or hold as you prefer.
White
2000 Joseph Drouhin Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches Blanc France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Beaune 1er Cru
What a treat, this bottle was in perfect condition. A complete wine drinking at peak, savory with some saline and sweet notes in balance. This is very fine, drinking like a baby Montrachet, not as long but the completeness and complexity are there.
White
2003 Vincent Dauvissat (René & Vincent) Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis Grand Cru
This was a wild expression of Chablis, hitting some classic Chablis notes but in a proportion that seemed anything but classic. The ocean in a glass here, with aroma reminiscent of Islay scotch. A smoky, briny wine with stone and salt.

Really interesting, but fruit seemed a bit tired and color was dark, most of this wine went undrunk by the group. Would be intrigued to revisit soon if the opportunity arose. I would not keep these bottles for long, drink up.

Flight 3 (2 notes)

Red
2010 Domaine Jean Grivot Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Classic Vosne spice aroma leaps out of the glass, very alluring. Palate is not as giving, still primary fruit with some oak to integrate. This comes across as a very fine wine, just too young for my taste.

This bottle was opened in the morning and slow ox'd all day, so this wine really is a long way off from maturity. In 5-10 years I would expect this to be a "wow" wine, the material is all here.
Red
2005 Domaine Dujac Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Excellent wine, terrific dark fruit. A better balance in this wine today than the '10 Grivot Beaux Monts served beside it. While this has 5 years more age, many '05's drink much younger. Dujac seems to have done quite well in this vintage, making wines that are relatively accessible. I wouldn't hesitate to open this wine again soon, although clearly it has plenty of stuffing to age.

Flight 4 (2 notes)

Red
1990 Domaine Ponsot Clos St. Denis Vieilles Vignes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos St. Denis Grand Cru
Massively spicy aroma, at first getting a lot of oak on the palate. With some time to breathe, the oak recedes, raspberry and minerals come to the fore. Excellent finish.
Red
2000 Domaine Leroy Clos Vougeot France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Tremendous quality, very opulent. This has a rather Vosne profile, and shows grand cru class all the way. Beautiful aromas, and a balanced palate. The wine is "open for business" but this may well hit another peak in a decade.

Flight 5 (1 note)

Red
2012 Domaine A.-F. Gros Richebourg France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Richebourg Grand Cru
Pretty, dense mouthfeel, tannins are surprisingly soft for a young Richebourg. Palate is still youthful and a bit puckery. Give it at least 5 years, and preferably 10+.
