Introduction

Every participant had to bring a wine of the theme. We did not know which wines were brought by the others. All wines were tasted blind, also without knowing when the wine you brought yourself was poured.
This time I organized everything, so my TN's are not blind.

Flight 1 (2 notes)

White
2003 Château Carbonnieux Blanc France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan
90 points
In the bouquet yellow fruits and impressions of nuts. On the palate butter, caramel, honey, oak and nuts. Elegant acidity. Mature, but in fact still a very pleasurable wine.
White
2012 Château Carbonnieux Blanc France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan
In this stage the Sauvignon Blanc is dominating the bouquet with cat pee and mineral impressions. On the palate good citrus acidity and minerals, but also not a 100% fresh. No score.

Flight 2 (2 notes)

White
2016 Château Brown Blanc France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan
90 points
In the bouquet butter, caramel, vanilla, green apple, but overall not very expressive in the nose. On the palate beautiful oak, good acidity, mild bitterness and some honey. Fine wine.
White
2007 Château Larrivet-Haut-Brion Blanc France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan
91 points
Complex, somewhat stinky flint stone bouquet as well as some toast. On the palate the same impressions, beautiful oak and vanilla. Beautiful acidity and soft bitterness.

Flight 3 (2 notes)

Red
1996 Château Poumey France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan
Medicine, iodine, smoke and organic flavors in the bouquet. On the palate red berry acidity, some peat and tobacco. Very mature. There was a second bottle. This was very mature as well, but overall more fresh and alive with even some tannin. Nevertheless no score.
Red
2004 Château Smith Haut Lafitte France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan
91 points
Just limited notes. Red and dark berries, good acidity and round, mild tannin. Certainly a beautiful wine.

Flight 4 (2 notes)

Red
2008 Château Malartic-Lagravière France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan
90 points
In the bouquet dark berries and beautiful oak. On the palate dark berries, mild acidity and soft tannin. I thought that – for a 2008 – this wine was extremely friendly.

Flight 6 (3 notes)

Red
2005 Château Haut-Bailly La Parde de Haut Bailly France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan
90 points
Beautiful bouquet with dark berries, ink, licorice, beautifully dosed oak and some eucalyptus. On the palate dark and red berries, cherries, chocolate, beautiful acidity and tannin.
Red
2005 L'Esprit de Chevalier France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan
90 points
Dark berries, chocolate and beautifully toasted oak. On the palate dark berries, chocolate, luxurious oak, beautiful acidity and mild tannin. Young maturity stage now and very drinkable at this moment.
Red
2005 Domaine de Chevalier France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan
93 points
The bouquet is still a bit locked, but there is ripe dark berry fruit, beautiful and luxurious oak and sweet spiciness. On the palate dark and red berries, beautiful acidity and round , still firm tannin. Shows more complexity and stamina than the second wine of the same vintage. Probably wise to wait until 2025 at least to see if the wine has reached maturity stage by then. 93++ for now.

Flight 7 (1 note)

Red
2010 Domaine de la Janasse Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
96 points
Drank beside jugged hare and I did not make any notes. But both were delicious. 96+?

Thank you Arie for sharing the jugged hare with us. And not to forget the 2007 Janasse Vieilles Vignes which is a truly great 100 RP points wine.
