Flight 1 (4 notes)
White - Sparkling
2002 Salon Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut
Easily the best bottle of this I’ve tasted. A vintage I’ve been equivocal on, so hopefully age has improved it and this is the new norm. It was terrific.

White - Sparkling
2000 Krug Champagne Vintage Brut
A vintage I’ve always liked. This bottle started nicely, showing a reserved sophistication, but quickly went south and didn’t deliver. Hopefully the bottle, as the vintage normally pleases.
White - Sparkling
2000 Louis Roederer Champagne Cristal Brut
The consensus favorite vs the 00 Krug, and I can't disagree. Energetic, almost flamboyant.
Flight 2 (6 notes)
White
2008 Domaine Leflaive Chevalier-Montrachet
Expectations revolved around premox, and there was none. With a nose to die for, this bottle massively outperformed expectations and was a surprise and a delight. Bravo.
White
2010 Domaine Leflaive Chevalier-Montrachet
A very good bottle in a great flight. Lovely and soulful, but served alongside two examples of greatness (2008 & 2014). It held its head high and won over one or two at the table as favorite.
White
2014 Domaine Leflaive Chevalier-Montrachet
Literally perfect. If you own this open one, as it’s nice to check in on perfection around age ten.

2017 Jean-Claude Ramonet Chevalier-Montrachet
Outstanding. A great wine and like many 2017’s I have no problem enjoying these early.
White
2015 Jean-Claude Ramonet Chevalier-Montrachet
Very good and still on an expected path to greatness. I do like 2015 Ramonet and have high hopes over time.
White
2013 Domaine Ramonet Chevalier-Montrachet
Lovely, but in the very good camp (vs great). Third in this flight of three (13,15,17).
