Bought at auction. Consumed over 5 hours. Fill level bottom neck. Recorked in 1982. A medium garnet color with floral aromas. When first opened the acidity was dominant but with some air the sugar and dark fruit tastes opened and balanced the wine. Certainly not the best wine I've had, but the oldest I'll ever drink I think. All in all a decent wine from what I read was a poor vintage. It was fun to taste something made at the same time I was.

Beautiful wine. Medium to full bodied with plenty of fruit left. Tannins have smoothed out. Based on this bottle the wine is at its peak and can only go downhill from here. Drink up and enjoy.

Fully mature, nice drinking wine. It's a pity the price has been run up so much. Not worth current prices, but enjoyable to drink now if you have them.

Drinking very nicely now. Won't hurt if you wait a bit but you won't be disappointed if you open it now. Medium bodied, mature fruit and nicely integrated tannins.

Second bottle opened this year and second disappointment. Wine was dead and astringent. Probably should have opened these 3 or 4 years ago.

Aromas of dark berries and eucalyptus. Medium bodied with tastes of dark fruit. Long finish. Tannins nicely integrated. Clearly a new world wine (very fruit forward) but delicious. Regret it was my last bottle.

Double decanted 4 hours before serving. Full bodied wine. Taste of cherrys and dark fruit. It needs some exposure to air if you are going to drink it now. Otherwise cellar for a few more years. Excellent QPR.

From a magnum. Opened 6 hours before serving and allowed to slowly air in the bottle. Aromas of cherries and leather. Very smooth in the mouth. Medium weight. Tannins are mostley resolved and would no doubt be further along in a smaller format. Very nice wine. Glad I bought them before all the craziness started.

The last one available to me, so sorry to see it go. Aromas of dark fruit and tobacco. Taste of ripe plums and cassis. Tanins well integrated. This may last a few more years before starting to decline, but is as good as it's going to get, which is excellent.

My first, so nothing really to judge it by. Opened and stored corked in 11C (52F) cellar.

Day 1: Beautiful amber colour. Taste and aromas of caramel and toffee. Medium acidity. Moderate tannins
Day 4: It has taken on mouth weight but I'm aware of an alcohol heat that I didn't notice the first day.
Day 8: Alcohol heat gone. Wine tastes less syrupy. Giiving a lot of pleasure right now.Still the caramel and coffee taste with clean acidity. Sweet without being cloying.
Will continue to taste this over the next 3 weeks or so and am interested to see how it develops.

When first opened and tasted I thought it was a candidate for the vinegar bottle. Put the cork back in and gave it a couple of hours with some air. The wine came around. Dark purple colour with no sign of bricking. Aromas of leather. Medium body with a reasonably long finish. A correct wine but not one that I think will get any better.
