Decanted and waited an hour to start drinking, still too early. By the second hour it was tasting much better, still needs a few years.

OUTSTANDING, DECANTED FOR ABOUT 2 HOURS, TANNINS ARE HISTORY.
HAD WITH FILET ON A SALAD...JASON REALLY HIT THE BALL OUT OF THE PARK HERE. EVERYONE THAT SHARED IT, INCLUDING THE CHEF AND THE OWNER OF THE RESTAURANT RAVED ABOUT IT. SLIGHTLY FRUITY, VERY PLEASANT AND SOFT IN THE MOUTH WITH A SILKY FINISH.

This stuff is a steal, it still has plenty of age left in it. We decanted it for an hour, should have been 2. Great nose and soft on the palate, a bit jammy but if I had decanted longer it softened up as the evening wore on. This stuff compared with much more expensive wines last night.

Still a bomb after nine years of age. This stuff will outlast me...still structured and ready to sleep, berry jam and strong. I will check again in 9 more years.

Decanted 2 hours, very approachable, tannins pretty much gone. A very nice Bordeaux blend. paired with beef and lamb, a big hit. I dont think it has more than 4 to 5 years left. Subtle hints of berries.

I agree with PGB, a truly outstanding wine. It is seamless and smooth, not a hint of tannins, traces of chocolate and caramel....not too strong though. It seems as if it is already 20 years old. Decanted only for half hour. All loved it!! It is easy to call it perfect. The cork and the wine seems like it will last a long time from here, I can't wait for another few years to pass to see how it ages. Just a wonderful wine.

I am really sad to only have two more bottles of this fine wine. We enjoyed it with a Thai meal. Super tropical fruits, wonderful buttery sweet flavor. Worth every cent, as one reviewer said!

We opened and let it sit for an hour, poured early before the meal. The meal was leisurely, all really enjoyed the wine. It did have a bit Southern Rhone tinge to it, but we all loved it. The fruit was definitely there but not over the top and I feel it will last another 20 years but is enjoyable now with enough time to the air. This isn't a La La, not priced like one either.

I noticed the cork was within a centimeter of losing its seal. The wine was fine but I think it is time to drink this stuff. I have a lot of it and I question the cork sealing. The wine was still fruity and opened up well after an short decanting. It has a wonderful mouth "feel", really too bad about the corks, I would like to taste it in 10 years....but everyone enjoyed it, time to pound it now.

In general I love the Chards from this winery, we opened this bottle with friends for our salad course. Delightful, as usual, buttery, but not over the top. A nice balance of tropical fruits, pineapple, mango, with a floral nose.
A Great Wine!!

I knew this wine was young so we opened it about 4 hours before decanting for another hour. All I can say is WOW Joe is doing a great job!!!! As the others I immediately sensed cherries and raspberries on the nose. It was fruity at first but really settled down after the decant. Super smooth, delightful in the mouth you get the fruit, but not overpowering. Long, nice finish, it seemed to disappear from the mouth. We had it with emu pork for Thanksgiving dinner...Outstanding

Like an idiot, I drank the 3rd bottle of this in the last two years, I know it is way early... but it is sooo good. This time I decanted for 6 hours and then served over a two hour dinner of braised beef and parm. mashed potatoes, there were 10 wine freaks there. It was a huge hit, the nose was subtle, next to a 99 Caymus which was typically bold. The taste though was super, smooth and not jammy, with a really soft finish, the wine really impressed us all. I'll bet this wine could last 30 years, fat chance around me though.

This is or more correctly, was, an outstanding wine. The nose was floral and sweet, hints of melon. The taste was a smooth buttery entry to sweet melons, pineapple with a flowery background. The wine was a big hit with all who tasted it. Morlet easily stacks up with anything, and they are supernice people...

As a Kistler fan, I , as another member posted, highly anticipated this bottle of wine. We had another couple over for diner, opened the wine and it too was corked. This is the second bottle of Kistler we have lost out of at least 40, but still sad. I remain a Kistler fan...I will just keep my fingers crossed.

This wine is still very young and we decanted for two hours and then poured and waited an hour, surprisingly good, not as structured as others, but an honest very good wine...
I think it still needs a few years to mellow, it will never be as opulent as some others but a very nice wine. The smell is rich not fruity and the taste continued to develop over
several hours, it will never be a blockbuster but a super nice wine to enjoy.

This was truly and outstanding wine!!! We had two bottles over two days to make sure...not too fruity not too dry. Very soft on the palette some fruit, just enough. It seems to have enough structure to last a long time but the tannins weren't overpowering now. We decanted an hour or more. We all loved it.

This is a truly outstanding Chard, creamy, soft, with a sweet citrus hint, buttery without being overpowering. We really loved it at dinner...A delicate nose, carmel and sweet tropical fruit followed by a wonderful tasting experience. WOW!! we ordered three more bottles from Morlet, all they would let us have.

I have had the wine from 2005 this was the last bottle, the nose was menthol and eucalyptse like, not as it used to be, which worried me a bit. But, the taste was fine, much of the fruity-ness when younger was gone. The tannins mellowed, it was mature and time to drink. I don't think it will last another year. Bang for the buck since the 2004 purchase all bottles were enjoyable. Jammy and Fruity, yes. But most of the Aussie Syrahs are. Tons of sediment too. Decanted an hour.

This wine really shocked me, we were group meal with several syrahs from Australia, US, and France. The meal was filet mignon,
I thought this wouldn't hold up to it...it did and well. It has a very nice nose, fruity but not sweet, for as young as it is it is super approachable now. It's taste was well beyond it's price, berry, currant generally, but as I said not overly sweet. A very smooth finish. It was enjoyed by all and we all felt it is good beyond it's price.

This wine is really nice floral and fruity taste, a bit acidic compared to others like Kistler, but still nice, refreshing not too sweet.
The nose is the good part, it is pineapple, not regular pineapple but the white lifesavers in the assorted pack like I got when I went to the movies as a kid, the white semi-clear ones, that pineapple...exactly. I liked it a lot.

Loved a bottle at dinner, decanted for two hours before. Big, dark wine..should last a long time. Well structured, fruity a hint of leather. Soft in the mouth and a wonderful finish, what more could you want?

Those of you that didn't like this wine should decant and wait. Since it is so YOUNG we cracked it and an hour later decanted it and waited two hours before pouring giving the wine some time for air....it was wonderful, approachable and smooth in the mouth and the finish was outstanding. A super wine.

We cracked this beauty midway thru the evening and let it breathe for two hours, what a joy, Smith is really on his game, we had it with a bunch of outstanding wines and it stood tall. Fruity (young) , chocolate, really smooth and pleasant, a super long finish....a great wine should do well for years which it won't make in my cellar.

This wine is outstanding, decant for an hour at least, small pours lots of air...we had it with a 99 Turley Petite Shirah, they were outasight. The Heart needed time the Turley was ready. Fruity, approachable with a smooth and long finish. A real hit.
