Had with Jeff and wife the night of Winter Storm Nemo. also poured 2008 Greer and 2007 Scarecrow.

On first pour, the RBS tasted similar to an aged Bordeaux: very smooth mouthfeel, secondary characteristics and a nice long finish. Both Jeff and I were pleasantly surprised. But there was one thing missing...structure. I think this will please most drinkers but for how long? I think this should be consumed over the next 3-5 years...but boy, was it yummy.

Brought to Gabriele's in Greenwich for "Steak Club". This was firing on all cylinders. Not over the top ripe...a nice balance of structure and fruit.

No formal notes, but I did decant this for 5.5 hours and consumed over next 3 hours. This is really good...and will get soo much better. Have 2 more bottles plus a magnum. Magnum will be good for 10-15 years easy!

Opened and poured into glass to sit for an hour before sipping. Lush with nice fruit. Structure is still there even after 7 years. This will last for another 5-7 years. Only quibble is that I'd prefer the nose be more sexy...but I guess after having a few Bordeaux and Abreu wines I've been spoiled.

Had with beef tenderloin, garlic-rosemary fingerlings.

Poured first glass and let it sit until dinner was ready...about 45 minutes. Not much of a bouquet. Big wine but not heavy. Oak, cola, fruit. Not fully there yet.

Decanted for 3 hours and consumed over 2.6 hours. Served with surf-n-turf (bone-in strip steak and shrimp). This is really good stuff...especially for the price.

I knew this wine needed more time as compared to cuvée Moriah or Walker Vine Hill but what the heck, I have 4 bottles.

Tight, a hair disjointed on the first night...opened up the next afternoon. I would either decant for 4-5 hours or wait a year or two for it to all come together.

Tart, cherry Pinot with nice acidity. Opened at 4:30 and had one glass. Went to a networking event and come back 5 hours later. Wine filled out some which shows this easily can lay sideways for a few years and be even better. Not sure if I'll wait that long...but I'll wait at least a year.

Opened at work to Christen our move to the new office. Way too early. Finally started getting going at the 3 hour mark. This will be a good one...in 4 years!

Decanted 4 hours and served with beef stew. Big, massive wine with sweet tannins.. No doubt this will last a decade or more. I think it will be rockin' in 3-4.

Can taste the quality of the fruit and how well it's made...but this needs more time. Wait two years.

I will admit this is one of the better QPRs out there. 93+ for now.

Great fruit. Not heavy. Beautiful finish. Just a tad hot. Kinda diggin this but don't think it's a very long lived Pinot.

Shared with Jeff and Kenney. Had 2005 Pavie and 1998 LMHB, too, and served with grilled bone-in ribeye and grilled tenderloin. Abreu rocked. That nose. That fruit. Beautiful tannins. Awesome structure. Length. A complete wine. Best I've had all year..

Had this along side a 1989 Lynch Bages...and the Araujo showed better. Full, mouthcoating, spice box, nice oak treatment, pencil shavings, black fruits and a little chocolate. This was really good. Beautiful deep color, too.

Nothing from Garys' compares to the utterly awesome 2005, but this wasn't too bad. No real notes but a solid 92...but it was substantially better on the last sip.

My take..hold for 12-18 months. This should get to a 94.
