For an old wine it was very good. Good bouquet and strong fruit flavors. Bottle did have a lot of sediment

I’m impressed. This wine aged perfectly, I dare to say it could have been cellared a few more years. This wine had a rich bouquet, was youthful and clean in appearance. On the pallet it displayed rich red stone fruit flavors. We drank the wine slowly and even after a couple hours being open it continued to impress. Great job Barboursville.

A bit past it’s time. A little flat, and not much bubbles. Other than that it was decent, nice bread notes.

I missed the boat on this one by a few years. Looked like stale coca cola, very little on the nose and very tired in the mouth.

This wine was a nice surprise given it was past it’s drink window. Color was vibrant, showing little if any age. Bouquet was strong with dark fruit aromas. In the mouth there was a lot of subdued fruit. Happy the wine had held up.

Nice wine, especially since it was a year beyond it's drink window. Color was still youthful, nice nose and in the mouth great acidity and minerality.

Really fantastic. Bouquet was big and fruity. Big wine in the mouth, with dark fruit flavors. Definitely light years better than the last one I drank

Very acidic. Not sure if I should have served with food. The color was ruby, bouquet was of red fruits, not very pronounced. And as I said very acidic in the mouth. It was hard for me to get past the acidity to discern any flavors.

Beautiful pale strawberry in color. Great bouquet of flowers, particularly violets. In the mouth it was crisp, refreshing of strawberries, and tangerine.

Another wine from an wine area of Spain I needed! This wine also is made of grape varities I have never tried; 50% Premsal Blanc and 50% Callet. Overall a decent wine. It has a light golden straw appearance. On the nose there are aromas of wild flowers, citrus, melon and candied fruit. On the palate it is light to medium body, well balanced with a bit of a creamy texture, some minerality, and strong citrus flavors. The finish is short to medium. My only complaint is it is a little one dimensional.

This sauterne is a standard mix of 95% semillion and 5% sauvignon blanc. In appearance it is a rich golden color. On the nose great aromas of mango, honey and honeysuckle. In the mouth the sweetness was natural not cloying. Wonderful flavors of peaches, nectarines, honey and vanilla. Very rich and full bodied with a long finish.

This 2009 was exceptional. It was the second wine to go with a paella. The color was a deep dense garnet. The bouquet was huge of dark cherries, figs with a touch of tobacco and cocoa. In the mouth it was complex, full bodied and balanced acidity. The tannins have settled but are still persistent enough to keep this wine developing for years. Lots of dark fruit flavors, with some nice earthiness qualities of leather, mushrooms and a touch of coffee. The finish was pronounced and long. Beautiful wine.

Opened up the 2005 tonight to share with friends with a paella. I normally love this wine. Supposedly the drink window was through 2015. In appearance the wine was a sauterne gold, which indicated to me the wine, had aged. However, it was clean, bright and clear. Normally, this wine is bright pale yellow in appearance. The bouquet was mild, of peaches and apricots. Again my past experience was of huge floral and fruit aromas. Rather disappointing in the mouth as it was a bit one-dimensional. Nice flavors of pears and apples. The finish was short to medium. Overall, I was disappointed but the silver lining was I drank it while it was still drinkable.

From a wine region in Spain I haven't tried. 85% Rufete, 15% Tempranillo. A bright, clear red wine. It's bouquet was dark dried fruit smells, like a port. Light to medium body, sweet cherry at the start settling into serious Pinot style wine. Nice medium finish

All I can say is wow. This was a wine I expected to have gone to vinegar. Instead I found a wine that had aged gracefully. The color of the wine was bright and vibrant-a deep dark garnet. The rim was still youthful, who would believe it. The bouquet was of dark red fruits and raisins. In the mouth it was well balanced with good acidity. Very nice blueberry and currant notes. The finish was medium long and very pleasant. Not bad for a wine that was seven years past its drink window!

Really nice wine. Bright deep ruby red in color. The bouquet is of cherries, blackberries and some spice. In the mouth it is a bit fruit forward mostly of red fruits. Good trace of earthiness of spice, tobacco and cocoa. Medium finish

Another wine from a wine region I have not tried. This wine is from one of the 14 recognized Pagos, akin to a Grand Cru in France. The wine was good but a disappointment. The wine has a brilliant cherry red appearance and a nose of mild red fruit with a bit of figs. In the mouth the wine felt medium bodied and tasted of fresh cherries and raisins. The finish was short.

One of the wines I needed to drink from wine regions in Spain that I haven’t had. This was a good wine. It is fairly dark garnet in color, clean and bright to the eye. Its aroma was of dark red fruits, black pepper, a bit of gunpowder that reflects its mineral background. In the mouth it has a pronounced acidity, with flavors of black cherry and wild blackberry fruit, smoke and tar. The tannins are soft and the volcanic minerality gives it a saline medium-length finish.

4 years passed its drink window. Appearence the wine had browned but still was clear of sediment. Aromas of raisin, plum and mocha. Alchohol forward but not hot. Taste wise lots of dried fruit flavors

Nice simple Verdejo wine from Rueda. Appearence the wine is light gold colored. It's aroma is of lemon, honeydew and melon. In the mouth it tastes like lemon, apple, pear and melon. The body is light, has smooth texture, with medium acidity and a short finish. Works nicely in the summer and paired well with salmon.

Somehow I managed to hide 2014 Delaplane Roses in my cellar. Time to drink. First it was drinkable. At first taste not bad, but after an hour it had fallen apart.
The wine looks salmon colored. There is no sediment in the bottle. It tastes like strawberry. The body is light. The wine has narrow texture. The wine finishes short. The wine has medium acidity.

I kept this wine in the cellar too long, 4 years past it's suggested drink window. Drank it today with a nice pork chop dinner. Had to decant it as the cork had fallen apart. Color of the wine was a clean deep red, but with quite a lot of brown to it. Nice bouquet of dark fruit. Full bodied. Lot of earthiness mixed with subtle fruit flavored. Good long lasting finish. Did not disappoint!

When we first opened the wine it was fragment and youthful. Nice fruit notes with some earthiness. Drank half a bottle with a pasta and Eggplant Parmesan and it paired nicely. However the second half of the bottle the wine started falling apart. Guess that what happens when the wine is 4 years passed it's prime. Still a good experience!
