Herbal, dry with nice acidity, green pepper, tart cherry. Classic old school, restrained Chinon. Pure fruit, good complexity, a bit of tar. Excellent for its style in the price range. My tastes run a tiny bit fatter on the fruit, but I still think this is really nice stuff. Acid head's dream.

In a great place, still has its youthful power and vitality but has mellowed. Dark plum, tobacco, bergamot, vanilla. Strong, powerful wine but has a feminine side. Excellent. Drinking great now, will hold for a long time but might start to shed its youth and move on to the next phase soon.

This is really good. Solid dark fruit, full bodied and juicy but well structured with good acid and a long dark finish. Great for the price. Would drink again. Drink now or hold 5-10 years.

Rich, solid, full flavored wine. Really wonderful with tobacco and smoke notes. A modern style for an old world wine. Dark fruit, great long finish, fantastic balance and complexity. Dense and powerful. I'd say this is at its early drinking window. Probably best to hold off for a while, but it's not a waste to try now. Will continue to develop. Textbook modern Bordeaux.

Light bodied, broad bright cherry fruit. Not what I expect from a Spanish wine. Almost like a Beaujolais, Pinot Noir, or Nero d'Avola--light bodied with big bright fruit. Could be a good match with bigger seafood/fish or pasta or chicken/pork. Good bright acid. Simple with good fruit.

Very light bodied. Lots of dried herbs, light acid, light fruit. A really lovely wine with some dark fruit, earth. Dark acidic finish. This is a steal at this price ($10). Drinking well, not a largely fruity wine, but has the structure to age a bit.

Pretty, round, well made, suave zin. A nice Ridge wine, but not spectacular. Dark, solid fruit, tobacco, good grip. Lacking a bit of zip. Not dropping off a cliff, drinking well but not getting better from here.

Does a great job straddling the line between old and new world. Good full fruit with a bit of tropical flavors and a touch of vanilla. Has a good acid backbone for structure. Although not super complex or delicate, this really represents the best of California chardonnay. Big and full, but not nearly over the top.

Lots of mineral and iron, dried herbs, dark fruit. I can feel the power back there, but hasn't blossomed yet. A bit stiff. This is still not ready. Good length. Nice pretty floral element too, a bit buried now but will come out eventually. Drink with red meat after a long decant or wait another 3-5 years for this to start to shine. Will never be a big blockbuster, but I expect this to be a wonderful, structured, well built wine in time.

Dark, brambly fruit. Wild. Big dollop of tar, tobacco, and earthy flavors like mushroom. Blackberry. Has good weight and excellent complexity for the price. Expansive and a little hot on the finish. I think this should sit a year or two. Since it's under screwcap, maybe longer. Really interesting wine, great for the price. Big bold flavors, match with like food.
