Cavey's, last night before the sale. $40, billed wrong?
Some varietal browning. GREAT floral nose.Serious tannin not out of balnce with some goot neb. fruit. Give it at least a couple of hours of air or 5 years. Will get better.

Excellent. Best cold, develops as it warns, including a butter phase. The semillon shows.

Going strong. Lime, green apple, apple cider. A touch of oxidation early seems to resolve. Nice acidity and length.

Best on day 1, went a bit simple over night

Auction purchase. This was starting to show some age. Nice balance of fruit and more mature flavors. In a good place, if not youthfully fruity.

Auction purchase. PnP and drank over three hours. Thin, watery, light weight. dark fruit (plum?) and a fair tannic finish. Varietally ambivalent. I'm not seeing enough acidity to carry it forward, but I didn't store this.

Auction purchase, Winebid.
That was interesting/bizarre. Worst cork/best capsule I've ever had. Cork was depressed a quarter inch. I literally just touched it and it fell into the bottle. No signs of leakage, but no hope for a drinkable wine at that point.
Nonetheless, wine wasn't bad. Significant fig, coffee grounds, prunes. A touch of acidity still giviing it some length. Feeling better about it at the $50 I paid than the $100 the next guy paid...

Popped three days off the truck. Travel shock does not appear to be an issue. Nose a little reticent at first, comes around with a bit of air. Fresh pineapple, lemon, lime, touch of fresh herbs. Classy but with great body weight. Acidity gives it very good length. Best of the last three vintages.

Drank over two nights. The peak may have been somewhere in between. Night one: A bit of a muted nose--funky red cherry. Red and black cherry, plum on the palate. Fruit is light, elegant with a bit too much tannin/oak. Night two sees the nose go much more powerful, the palate pick up a bit of cranberry, spice, and the tannin integrates nicely. I say again: 2010 Brunello absolutely lives up to the hype. No rush to drink. Buy again.

Yeah, tastes like something Newman would recommend...Then again, good luck finding a $20 Burg that's any better. Improves with a half hour of air, and with food. Weak nose. Light, a bit bitter. Tart cherry. waste of cellar space.

Black cherry, underbrush, PEPPER, a nice load of acidity gives this impressive length. A bit tannic; a year or two likely to help. A bit rustic, in a positive, Vino-Nobile kind of way.

Vinituri-decanter-vinituri-glass and drank over three hours. Best toward the end but still: Needs 5 years instead of a 5 hour decant. !SCREAMS! Valdicava, with all the negatives that implies. There's some nice dark fruit here, with a touch of something Brunello-green (asparagus? Eucalyptus?) and about 4 overflowing dump trucks full of oak. Bark, chocolate etc. This will improve, but it will never be typical to the appellation which is a shame, given the fruit they started with. QPR train wreck.90+

I almost scored this as "flawed" as in flawed labeling.
When you sell Sancerre in the US, people are gonna assume it's a white wine. Putting "RED TABLE WINE" in small print, on the back label is hiding the ball.
Anyway, a bit light weight, but definately pinot noir. Drinkable, but not a re-buy. Held up well over two days

I laid about 5 hours of air on this--in bottle and decanter--and that was a bit too much. Over-softened it. Plum, cherry, mineral in the end. 91-90 with the air

Extremely ripe, almost sweet fruit. Gewurtz flavors, but on steroids. If Napa made Gewurtz, this is what it would taste like. Drinkable, but really "too much."

A bit of air, in bottle, actually softened this a bit. That was interesting. I'm not sure I realized that a wine could be so "big" and so mature at the same time. Black olive, plum, prune, fig, better than average length. Pretty good load of acidity and some tannin still there. One's probably enough. CT says I had two.

PnP. Much better nose , with only a hint of the acetone that I got with the last bottle, but not running out for another. Less fruit than last time, however. Earth, persistent mineral giving it some worthy character, but way too much tannin. I'm guessing barriques, new oak?
