12/29/22, 12:51 AM - Yes, I'm sure. Well, not exactly but I used to write my notes on paper. Since 3 or 4 years I write them while drinking a wine in Cellartracker. To get the administration of my cellar right I have put the old notes in Cellartracker.
12/27/22, 9:00 AM - Thanks for your reaction. I drank the wine 7 years ago and I can't remember. Good point! Next time I will add it in my notes especially with such old wines. Cheers, Chris
9/6/21, 9:09 AM - Very good note on this wine! Good potential ahead for this one. I have left one bottle of 'Bourgogne' 2010 from Barthod. No doubt it is good and alive. Especially the acidity in the 2018 will give it ageing potential. I think 10-12 years at the max.
8/27/21, 5:59 AM - Thank you for your comment. Glad you enjoyed the wine very much. I have two more bottles so maybe next the score will be a little higher. I had the wine with a very good Rully (white) and when one bottle is very good the other can show less than when you drink it on it's own. It should'nt but I'm not a professional. However, a score between 80 and 85 means 'a good wine'. In my opinion this is a good wine. Tonight I'm drinking a Chambolle-Musigny 1er Charmes from Le Moine and hopefully that's an excellent (90 plus) wine... But it's from 2011 so I'm not sure. Keep drinking Burgundy! And of course maybe I was wrong. I will remember your post when I open the next bottle.
11/22/20, 10:59 AM - Hi Mark, No decant.
10/29/20, 2:44 PM - Taste is difficult because it's personal. I'm from Europe and have a preference for Burgundy, followed by Bordeaux, Rhone and Piemonte. Very classic... To answer your question: Yes, the oak will integrate. I recently drank a 1994 Faustino and it was stunning. Also a wine which can have a lot of oak in it's youth. This will improve with time but I don't think it will become classic.
5/13/20, 6:17 AM - Hi Lukas, I didn't write down if I decanted the wine. But I'm sure I did because I always do with wines which don't show. If you have (a) bottle(s) I should wait another 5 years at least.
11/23/19, 8:26 AM - Great note! Cheers!
5/1/19, 1:06 PM - Thanks Jeff! With a glass La Grave a Pomerol I read a lot of your Bordeaux 2018 notes. Just to make my own choice for one case of the right-, and one case from the left bank. I lot of very good wines in 2018... Again, thanks for your notes.
1/26/18, 11:37 AM - Dat is een puike proeverij geweest Barry! Comte Lafon Montrachet '14... Hij wel! Mooi man.
10/4/17, 6:02 AM - * high five! *
5/27/16, 11:09 AM - Your question is which wines are better and cheaper than this particular Léoville? Let's stay in Bordeaux and than you have for instance:Domaine de Chevalier 2009Chateau Pavie Macquin 2009Leoville Barton 2009Chateau D'Issan 2010Almost every Grand-Puy-LacosteAnd I could go on with several wines from Burgundy, Chateauneuf, Côte-Rôtie.
7/14/15, 5:30 AM - I saw your note on the Clos St. Denis. Good to read. I'm glad I've two bottles of Le Moine's Clos St. Denis '09! Cheers, Chris
6/29/15, 7:14 AM - I wish I knew. Buy a case and taste a bottle a year :-) But I also only have two bottles... I personally love young Burgundies. I sometimes try a 1er cru young. Not the GC's, which I keep for at least ten years. This wine will be great in 2026. But why wait? Enjoy!
6/23/15, 1:04 AM - Thank you for your comment Buzzzz. I hope you will enjoy your bottle(s) of Pintia. I will read it on Cellartracker.
9/2/14, 5:08 AM - Great tasting note! Puts a big smile on my face. I've some bottles left myself. Hurray!
8/14/14, 11:17 PM - Thanks. Than it's fair to rate it as 'flawed' Although it's the second bottle of this wine which is flawed...
8/14/14, 6:46 AM - What a stunning tasting. Chave's Hermitage is so good. Good to see you agree with me on te scores for 1998 and 2004 rouge :-). I once had a similar tasting also with 1990 and 1983 Hermitage Rouge. Which, in my opinion, are even better than 1998. If you ever have the chance... Great to read your notes, it makes me smile! Thanks.
5/19/14, 11:41 PM - Enjoy it! My bottle still had a good level. Approximately 2 cm below cork.
3/24/14, 5:12 AM - What an evening you had! Wow... Great to read your notes. I sometimes will read this note looking forward to that one special moment when I will open my only bottle of the '10 Charmbertin from Rousseau.
7/3/13, 11:09 AM - Hi Stefan,I heard there were bottle differences between the tables. I had to rate the wine I tasted. It's a beautiful wine with great balance. There were signs of ageing. I had the '95 together with the '86 (magnum). And you are right. I liked the young ones ('03, '09 and '10) more than this one. But, a great wine nevertheless. Try it in 10 years time and I will read your notes then. Enjoy drinking wine. Like Jean-Marie Guffens (Guffens-Heynen, Verget) once said: "there are no great wines. There are only great bottles". And maybe in this case that says it all.
