still great, and even more open on day two; medium body, smooth; good fruit concentration and balance

muted nose and closed taste to start; more open on night two with floral nose, elegant and deep, with purple fruit (still with some primary notes), minerals, length; very well done, has upside.

great nose; some 'clean' funk, smooth redder fruit with both elegance and depth'; interesting hint of citrus that most others did not sense (even when asked); sadly, the price point is now past my level.

plenty of bricking and the fruit overripe and fading; Cooked? Unlike my last bottle... so no score
White - Sparkling
as a spritz with Amara Amaro d'Arancia Rossa, but this is perfectly fine on its own

didn't enjoy this on its own...the rest being used in prosecco as a spritz where it adds an interesting blood orange flavor, but without the wonderfully cheesy colors of aperol or campari

pleasant enough, but lacking in the mid palate, reminiscent of a generic chianti

still big (huge) with plenty of everything; still a bit burly; notable wood but the fruit stands up to it; works with beef; remind myself to hold...

mushy distal cork but came out fine with an ah so; a bit of funk blows off fairly quickly; initial blast of high quality oak out-competes the fruit; the fruit then opens up with plum and dirt, keeping up with the oak; still drinkable but likely better five years ago
White - Sparkling

raspberry and red currant, still bright due to good acidity; some black tea on the finish; now less body than in years past, like an old claret.

deep and dense; perfectly ripe; acidity stands up to the big fruit; sweet oak, christmas spice and earth; would have guessed a bit of young petit syrah was added to the glass; i have a mixed past with barolo, but every so often, one surprises and amazes me.

oak now fully integrated; slightly sweet, ripe california fruit; a very nice mature cab; still great on day 2.

negroni sbagliatos for all...yet again
but perfectly serviceable on its own
Red
fading and rustic (day 1 note)
hold that thought: day 2 (and 3!) this came together with some smooth complexity; some mountain fruit firmness on day 2 (in a good way)

mature fruit, earth. 'mineral' and black tea; fading a bit on day two; just right with Italian comfort food; no reason to hold these

complex nose; light body/mouth texture, albeit evolving in the glass with unique sensations--sweet floral and grapefruit at the same time, plenty of je ne sais quoi; acidity and black tea keeps this bright; cherry is the main fruit, but this is not about the fruit; unique and likely found only on mount etna

some bricking; nice nose; fruit is more lean now, so you notice the (good) oak; great acidity that stands up to BBQ ribeye; i don't get any brett.

a whiff of funk made me wonder if it was from USA; sangiovese cherry and rhubarb, but then a juiciness that is from california; some complexity as well; this is better than i recall from past tastings and shows that this can age gracefully; works well with red sauce on a spaghetti squash (a good pasta substitute btw)

decanted 30 minutes for sediment (and needed an hour). notable funk wins over the ususal haunting nose; nice mushroom and tobacco tertiary notes; the deep fruit is there and has great length; shows how well bordeaux wines can age
day two: funk mostly gone, much more clean earth and you notice the tannin; the fruit is still there
