In addition to being selected by USA Today as the top wine in Texas, It also just won the grand award at the Houston International wine competition Claros has a purple/garnet color that shows bright clarity Acidity is lively offset by ripe fruit characteristics. Sweet spices are apparent - clove, cinnamon and hints of allspice. Fine tannins from French oak help create good structure in this elegant Texas wine. Drink now or hold

Although Petit Verdot is not often made as a stand alone wine, this is delicious with smooth, flavorful body and a nice finish. Pair with red meat.

The nose has medium fruit. On the palate the fruit and acidity are balanced with a medium finish. It is good now, but may do better with a few more years in the bottle.

A complex blends of Italian grapes plays with your nose and palate. I found rich notes of cherries, chocolate and spices with medium tannins all competing for attention. This one needs either some additional bottle time and/or decanting to really bring out the flavors. I plan to hold mine for 2-3 years.

Texas grapes at their best. This wine opens with a mild nose showing hints of figs and a hint of onion. The palate softly reveals more tree fruit and some chocolate and finishes with some herbal notes on top of tree fruit. I would lay this down for 1-2 years to even more flavors.

After careful cellaring for 3 years, we broke this out for Christmas dinner. Definitely did not disappoint, very complex and full of fruit with some tannins. Definitely needs decanting for an hour or so to really open it up. Just wondering what more time may do for it! Nice Christmas present.
