Sunday in bonneville, pairing it with cote de boeuf. Short 30 min decant. Deep purple color. Beautiful fruit, ash, black pepper, a touch of greenness. Med acidity, med body, med alcohol, med flavor intensity, dry tannins, med finish. Green capsicum, vanilla, black cherries, black pepper, chewy tannins, still tastes young and vibrant. Excellent already, but missing some tertiary notes which I would have expected by now. Will wait a few years to open next one. If one drinks it now I would recommend to decant for at least a couple of hours.

I think you can either coerce the wine in showing some tertiary notes by decanting for 3-4 hours. But if you are of the disciplined kind better to wait another 5-10 years went it enters early adult hood ? Do you agree ?

Friday evening in Cannes. Light lemon color. Not a very pronounced nose, a bit of green apple and citrus. Med acidity, med body, med alcohol, med flavor intensity, med finish. Red and green apple, citrus, hay and salinity but all is very light. Not convinced.

A rose that is very obviously coming from a red grape. Deep rose color. Red cherries, slight pepper, a slight waft of alcohol, a certain greenness to it as well, on the nose. Med acidity, med alcohol, med body, med flavor intensity, dry tannins and med finish. Nice red crispy red cherries, dry ish tannins, a bit of salinity at the end. A gastronomical wine that would pair well with some Mediterranean food. Like it!

Sunday evening in Singapore. A clear lemon gold Color. A medium pronounced nose with pineapple, citrus, cloves, wet stones, and a slight buttery scent. I also smell some sulfur. Med acidity, Med body, Med alcohol, Med+ flavor intensity, Med finish. Mainly fruity and buttery in the mouth, but quite flat and I am wondering if there is a fault with this wine. Not rated as a consequence, hopefully better luck with the remaining two.

During a testing session at a WSET school. Deep garnet, complex and dark pitched nose with licorice, dark cherry, vanilla and some sous bois. I would have guessed CDP. Rich and ripe but the balance works due to the freshness and well judged dry extract.

3/30/21, 5:43 AM - A bit too much vanilla to make this a CDP in my opinion but definitely the best wine of the evening

During a testing session at a WSET school. Strong berry nose, red cherry, spices, like a typical table wine from the south. Tannins well measured, pronounced acidity, a bit disjointed at this time. Give it some time.

Sunday evening in Singapore. Short 30 min decant, pairing it with a selection of Italian cheeses. Deep ruby Color. Complex nose with lots of dark fruit like black cherries, smoke, pepper, mushroom, forest floor and a hint of peppermint. Med acidity, full body, high alcohol, Med+ flavor intensity, Med tannins, Med+ finish. Balanced and structured wine, I am capturing a bit of green capsicum and mint, and still some acidity so I think this deserves a couple more years. I like the roundness and fruitiness combined with all the tertiary noted I picked up earlier. Nice wine and will open the next one in a year.

Friday evening in Singapore, having it with a mushroom quiche, with a very short decant. Deep ruby Color. Complex nose with sweet cherries, smoke, clove, cream, mushroom, earth, leather, a bit of tobacco. Med acidity, Med Body, Med alcohol, Med tannins, Med+ flavor intensity, Med+ finish. Well structured wine, drinking very well, chewy tannins, I like the sweetness combined with the leather, salinity, smoke, pepper. Excellent!

Sunday evening in Singapore. Opened bottle yesterday for the starter and drinking the remainder. Light lemon Color. A tropical nose, pineapple, peach, citrus, mandarine, wet stones, a bit spice, and a light creamy note. Med+ acidity, Med body, Med alcohol, Med flavor intensity, Med finish. Refreshing thanks to the acidity, minerality is perfect, fruity and creamy, but with a nice balance and not overly buttery, just how I like it. Burgundian in overall style. Excellent price quality and still has some years ahead. I bought one bottle to test but I think I might order a case directly from their New Zealand website.
