A bit dark for a Brunello. Florals, red fruit and menthol on the nose. Silky mouthfeel with well integrated fruit and earth notes. Smooth finish - tannins coming around nicely. Great with grilled steak!

Solid BdM from a good vintage. Decanted about 2 hours before serving with chicken parmigiana. Red brick color and floral nose. Strawberry and cherry primary notes with a bit of spice/smoke in the back of the throat. Decent finish with soft tannins. Held up well when revisiting on day 3.

Last bottle of Scott Paul. Fond memories of this winery (and visiting it in 2015). This did not disappoint. Elegant and nuanced (opened but not decanted about two hours before serving). Beautiful fruit and structure with a long soft finish.

Decanted about 1 hour prior to drinking. Rose petal and tobacco on the nose. Classic brick red. Typical red fruit early, giving way to tobacco and clove. Smooth finish with soft tannins. This will get better, but is drinking well now.

Everything you want in a Brunello... Beautiful color, floral notes on the nose, good energy and smooth texture, nice mixture of red fruit and tobacco, and a medium finish. No decant, but opened about 2hrs before drinking. Still has a lot of life in it.

Deep red. A bit of cedar on the nose. Very smooth mouthfeel with nice blend of dark fruit, tree bark, and leather. Smooth finish with integrated tannins.
Had this with a cast-iron cooked steak. Was a nice change from our normal Brunello or Cabernet.

Opened and decanted about 90 minutes before drinking. A bit musty nose on opening, but mellowed after about an hour. Definitely earthy, with fruit coming on later in the mouth. Well integrated and very smooth finish. Will last a bit, but very nice right now.

Opened about 4 hours before drinking - no decant. Darkish brick color. Nose of red fruit and some tobacco. Silky mouthfeel - primary red and black fruits with earth tones and spice on the back end. Well integrated tannins and smooth finish. Ready!

Deep red. Bright red fruits, but with notes of leather and tobacco emerging on the finish. Tannins are pretty well integrated. Not sure this will get much better - drinking well now.

Very nice Cabernet. Tasted against a 20+ year old Chianti and tasters had trouble determining which was which! Dark red fruits balanced by earth tones in a way I don't often find in Napa Cabernets. Very good structure and long finish. Think this will hold up well for several more years.

A bit cloudy in the glass. Displayed ample fruit and roundness. Very nice blend of tobacco and leather to balance the red fruits. Nice soft finish without sacrificing structure. Drinking very well - great with grilled red meat!

Rose petal and a variety of spices on the nose. Nice fruit and earth tones mid-mouth with fruit yielding toward the finish. Nicely pared with grilled Porterhouse. But the last several sips seemed a bit harsh. Will wait a bit on remaining bottles.

Probably didn't give this enough time between opening and drinking given how young it is. Opened about 60 minutes before drinking with grilled steaks. Became much more nuanced about 60 minutes later with earth tones and pencil shavings complementing the brilliant red fruit. Nice, long finish!

Developed over two hours. A bit reticent/austere out of the bottle. Agree with others that this needs some more time in the bottle, or a lot of air before drinking. But there is good stuff in there... Even today, a good food wine.
