4/3/24, 3:25 AM - This isn’t a rosé champagne
9/28/23, 3:59 AM - Oxidation doesn’t go backwards. If it’s there to start, it only gets worse after opening. Are you sure you’re not confusing it with reduction?
5/20/23, 9:29 AM - Last LCBO classics release I assume? I found that 14.6% shocking too and looked up the original label
5/6/23, 4:17 AM - Thanks for this. Man did the ever jack the price! I paid $250 CAD for a magnum, now that might get you a 750!
3/16/23, 3:31 AM - This was my fear. I have some of this in the cellar but haven’t tried yet. Thanks for sharing
11/16/22, 11:32 AM - Promising review for me as I’ve never tried this wine but have a case on the way. Thanks for sharing.
11/27/21, 8:40 AM - I don’t think they made any of the usual single vineyard bottlings in 2012 so all the fruit was declassified into this
11/10/21, 2:57 AM - I had the exact same experience. I don’t think time fixes this for my next bottle but I have nothing to lose.
8/15/21, 4:55 AM - Bang on. Exactly how I perceived it too
3/7/21, 4:54 AM - I completely agree with this. I had one 2.5 years ago and was very underwhelmed. Opened one a few months ago and couldn’t wipe the smile off my face.
12/14/20, 3:14 AM - This is good to know. I almost opened one last week! Will try in a few years.
11/14/20, 4:59 AM - Easy to see why. It punches above the Sancerre weight class that I’m used to
10/25/20, 4:50 PM - WineAlign black case by any chance?
5/3/20, 9:39 AM - Always a possibility but there were no obvious faults and my notes from my last bottle 2.5 years ago were almost the same.
5/23/20, 6:03 PM - In my opinion, Faury VV (st. Joseph) outperforms this no problem.
5/3/20, 4:47 AM - I opened one of these last night after 2+ years since my first and completely agree with you. Here are my notes:The entry level Côte Rôtie from Guigal. Decanted for 2.5 hours and it needed it. Got more savoury as time went on with a decently perfumed nose of olives, tomato, some red berries, black pepper. Tannins were quite soft and acid Med +. Not the complexity or layers I was hoping for, but the finish was surprisingly long and mellow. Elegant and refined? Sure. But I can find Crozes-Hermitage or St. Joseph at half the price that would outperform this.I just expected more given the vintage!
8/11/19, 5:34 AM - I have 3 and the 1st is exactly what you described. Disappointing indeed
10/16/17, 5:37 AM - California rules state 75% as the minimum for a wine to be labelled as a single variety. That leaves 25% open, which can obviously make quite an impact.
2/29/16, 5:51 AM - This is a Charles Smith wine;http://winesofsubstance.com/
