This is a wine with character. Herbs and summer flowers in the nose, mowed grass. Almost chenin blanc-like. Good mouthfeel, taste of grapefruit, spices. Only 11%. A wonderful summer wine!

Vigorous and lively, with sandy tannins. A rounded mouthfeel, prominent acidity balansing the palette of cherry and red fruits. Young, but drinkable already now.

Very good, elegant and very balanced. Sweet fruit underpinned by acidity and complexity. Volnay at its best, very true to style.

Very young. Lively and well structured. Deep blue fruits, kicking tannins. Bodes well for the future , will of course improve from cellaring. Somewhat high in alcohol.

Solid and powerful GG, god acidity balancing the fruit. Lots of minerality. Slightly reductive, melon and lychee in the nose. Good effort from S-F. Will age well, even though we prefer them young.

Very solid, punchy and concentrated. Complex nose, balanced - all the mature riesling notes: peach, honey, butter. Still a healthy level of acidity, which we like. At its peak, for drinking.

Delicate gooseberry nose, slightly reductive. Fine mouthfeel, elegant and balanced taste. Honey and melon. Exquisite. Good acidity. Doubtful if this will be very much better with more cellaring.

Spicy, cigar box nose - almost like a Pauillac. Would be fun to sneak it in at a B-x blind. But the taste gives it away - classic Geyserville, with that acidic backbone, bitterness, balanced tannins and deep blue fruit. Superb effort. Now - and for a long time!

Very special wine, dry and slightly bitter (meant as a compliment), did not work at all with the cod and hollandaise. But was fantastic to the Etivaz hard cheese with fig/date marmalade! Wonderful combination. Very good wine - but match it carefully with the right food. Probably good to charcuterie as an aperitif as well.

Traditional Rioja, but with a modern slant. Beautifully oaked, balanced and refreshing. Alive and vibrant still. Very good. Over time, developing a plummy and fruity nose - exquisite! To food, but works surprisingly well on its own. If you want to introduce someone to the wonders of Rioja - this is the place to start.

Upper echelon of mid priced Bordeaux. Lots of red fruit, supple tannins, excellent also when young. Cassis and cherry, some candy in the nose. Tricky vintage, but well done.

Lots of red fruit in the nose, becoming more spicy over time. Arianna’s signature acidity is the foundation, which the big cherry fruit taste just builds on. Beautiful wine, open for business.

Of course, very young - but still very good. The nose with a classic southern Rhône touch, but restrained. Overall this is a balanced and almost velvety variant of the style. We like it, not necessarily much better with cellaring.

Good nose, almost Syrah-like with shades of white pepper. As a whole, not balanced enough - the acidity is too flamboyant compared to the fruit and (non-existent) tannins. Still a friendly food wine, but in my taste not a wine for the cellar - better do drink it young and fresh.

Very elegant and perfectly balanced. Some hint of chocolate and orange in the nose, also some pleasant tertiary notes coming through. Concentrated, voluptuous but with the acidity providing a solid backbone. Will have a long life ahead, but we adore it exactly like this.
