Sour red berries, quaffable pretty typical Loire CF. Not particularly dirty or funky, at all, very clean. Compared to the '15 of the same cuvée I found this more crisp and quaffable, as opposed to the '15 which felt more "luxurious top end cuvée" in style but for that matter not better at all, I prefer the '17 now.

I’m a big fan of Envínate but this is not my favourite cuvée. To me, this feels more elegant in style (a little Pinot Noir, a little Nebbiolo) with a touch of oak, and I like Envínate for their slightly more rustic yet saline bistro wines.

Red apple skins, mealy apple, strawberry/wild dito, floury bread. While I don’t think this is anything particularly special, I think this is very good value at 30€.

Vinegar, not much else. Some might consider this flawed. I don't think it was flawed though, I think this is just the wine style.
White
Citrus zest/rind, cilantro and other green herbs, gooseberry and other prickly notes. A little bretty, but within balance to just add nuance. A hint of nuttiness with time. My WOTN.
White
Grapefruit, minerals, pear. Crisp and elegant. Elevated acidity, high concentration, high quality. A good wine, just feels a tiny bit bland at the moment, expect it to gain some complexity with further aging.
White
Slightly round with a hint of honey on the nose (at first at least). Could've mistaken this for a sweeter wine based on the nose only. On the palate, citrus candy with a little too much parfumed soap initially, which faded and became more balanced with time and air. Had this in '21 and it was a lot better now.

Flowers, peach, tropical fruit. Totally ok skin-macerated wine but not particularly complex, vibrant or interesting.

Less green and less bretty than many vintages, perhaps the warm ’15 suits this well. While I have nothing against green and funk in moderation, this was probably the most crowd-pleasing Le Puy I’ve ever had.

A christmas spices/mulled wine hint. In a very light quaffable and dry wine I think it added a little complexity.

Had this blind and picked it out as Loire, but thought it was Grolleau. This was super light, no tannins, taste of yoghurt, and no CF markers.

No notes taken but very nice, qualitative, powerful yet elegant.

I have had 6 vintages (15-20) of this cuvée, and 16-20 in recent time. I think that this wine is very consistent over the vintages, with tasting notes such as red berries, green notes and minerality. The most notable difference is that the wine young expresses a more natural style with a little spritz on the tongue, and that the wine apart from losing this, does not gain anything by aging. The best showings for me has been at about 5 years of age.

If I'm being hard on this wine, I'd say it tastes "white wine" and not much else. If I'm being more on the positive side, I'd say this oozes quality, and is a very nice drink that I'd love to have as my house white, it's "neutral" wine style make it very useful.

Plum with kernel, blueberry bush, some minerality. I think these are better when they are young. Still good now though just not as electrifying.

There’s a note of fennel in this wine that I associate with Muscadet however this is Chenin Blanc but it could be some Loire terroir thingy I feel, not sure about it. Anyway, this is not the first time I drink this cuvée and while this is a relatively simple wine that would fool no one for a Champagne, I still like it for what it is. It’s quaffable, it has quality and it costs about 20 Euro.

This was almost unbearably tannic pop and pour, which probably came as a surprise to no one, but I do recommend some hours decant. Day two this was a lot better, and with food it was almost a pleasant drink, but not anything I will rebuy. Balsamic, a little minty, very bitter. Not enough fruit to make it balanced imho.

Some brass, funk, herbs, cinnamon, arrack, at the some time a briny hint and someone said ginger I think. Had this blind, and it stood out as very "natural wine" in style, guessed Horiot. Having had their rosé this summer I can clearly see their growers style especially with the herbal profile. It's not really my cup of tea though. I have no problem with several low-sulphured growers, in fact I love them, but the herbal Marguet style is not really for me. Having said that, this is nitpicking in a flight, if I had this by itself I'm sure I would've finished the bottle.

A hint of VA at first whiff, then butter, lemon (clearly not a BdN, had this blind), herbs, a hint of cheese, coffee. A bit strange on pop but very good with time. Had this in a blind lineup and it was my runner up. Deg 2012-10.

Nuts, red berries, grapefruit, dust, minerals, apple skins. Tasted this blind and had it as my WOTN. Deg 2016 so relatively aged for a Savart in my book.

No notes taken but a very good Champagne, if you enjoy a dry PN dominated growers style. Deg 2021-04, vintage 18, 1 g/l.

A bit weird wine experience, because it was so acidic and light (also low alcohol and a lot of VA). Rubber, lingonberries.

Rich and sort of full-bodied in style, with chocolate, blueberries, mushrooms, tobacco, leather and pepper. Not your typical quaffable Loire CF, would probably benefit by some aging and/or a food pairing.

A hint of barnyard, green-bitter pine and lots of aromatic herbs, think Fernet or other Italian bitters. Lingonberries with elevated acidity. Some almond paste, minerals. Compared to some Cabernet Francs tasted alongside it, this stood out for me with it's herbaceousness.

A slightly funky cheese note, which faded with air and time. Bruised apples that is more in the mealy yellow spectrum than clearly red or green (something that I associate with PM, being neither red nor green). Might be some red berries there, as well as bread, yeast and stones. 13/14 deg 2021-04.

There is some buzz surrounding this wine claiming it’s a super bargain at 15€ in Sweden, so going in I had quite high expectations.
Initially a hint of bitter almonds and glue (which faded fast - this was the best part of the wine, sadly it faded away). Slightly oily (still on the nose), citrus zest with citrus oil, unidentified tropical fruit. Somewhat herby, quite long and slightly hot finish. A buttery hint. To me, this could use more acidity and minerality. The more I had of this wine the more I came to the conclusion that this is quite flabby, boring and bland. Disappointed.

2020 Au Bon Climat Hildegard Santa Maria Valley White Blend (view label images)
Had this in a blind tasting with Bourgogne-like whites, by rng only New World wines. This was by far the wine that got closest to Bourgogne, although I guessed Chardonnay / Rhône varietals blend from South Africa, so something stood out I suppose. Slightly buttery, slightly oily with tropical fruit, a saline hint and just a soupçon of smoke. Very long. This is probably a bit more oak than I purchase personally, but I really like it. It’s a nice wine. It was shared wotn of the tasting.

Citrus, yellow apple, nashi pear, mineral, wild strawberry. Had this in a blind flight where its subtle profile made it appear a bit bland to me, probably fares better on its own.
White
Gooseberry, flowers, tropical fruit, green herbs, citrus. Had this blind and did not pick it out as a Chardonnay at all, guessed white Bordeaux.
White
Buttery, creamy at first. Changed a lot with air and time. Dusty nuts, dusty rocks and (too much) oak bitterness. Bruised apple, almond paste. This tasted a bit like an aged Champagne without bubbles, in a good way.
White
Fruity, chewy texture, marmalade but not sweet, a hint of vinegar (va), long. Brought this to a blind tasting where it came at shared first place at half the price of the other wine. Very good value and a very nice wine.

Mouthwatering acidity. Earthy and nutty with bruised apples and raspberries. My first glass was at room temperature and the rest, more chilled, was muted by comparison. Some of the red fruit disappeared in favour of citruses et al. Don’t drink too cold. Deg 2021/11.
