Entry - Mid level penfolds better than I expected.
Plummy Shiraz at the front with a minty Cabernet on the back.

Everything in check. Great colour, nose still fresh. Tannins fine, unbelievably young.....great wine. Has 5 years at this stage drink over the next 10 years.

Massive inky, woody, luscious, Barossa shiraz. Big ripe fruit great use of oak, goes for over a minute, with good acid to round it out. Great wine, wish i had another. will drink well within the next 5 years, but will easily last another 10.

Great booze, fruit forward Aussie shiraz. Good mouth feel and roundness balanced by good acidity... long finish, long life. Probably wont improve but will hold for another 10 years .

A lot better than last bottle 1 year ago, must have been bottle variation as this was great. Showing secondary flavors, fruit still holding well, fine tannin. Won't improve but will hold for some time.

Decanted and drank over 3 hours. Boozy and disjointed...got better toward the end, last glass the alcohol was nearly gone and the wine came together. Needs alot of air....will re visit wine in 1 year.

Great value booze, nice forward oak and fruit with a good hit of acid to round it out... may need to re visit past vintages. This should hold nicely into the 2020's.

Really good example of a Marananga shiraz, 1 of my favorite regions in the Barossa. Dark in the glass not overly sweet or jamy on the nose or pallet. Good balance and fine tannin. A very good wine. Will open another in 5 years,

Power house of a wine but so perfect. Lashings of fruit, chocolate, spice and smooth silky tannin's working together with the oak. A big bold wine that's a pleasure to drink now but will definitely go the long haul. Ridiculously good wine.

Unbelievable power, with absolute finesse and balance. Decanted for 8 hours and served over 2, lashings of ripe red and blue fruit, Christmas cake on steroids, toffee, chocolate and spice. The tannin is fine and unbelievably silky even at such a young age, The pallet goes and goes, full mouth coating booze so round and polished. A big wine but so very drinkable right now..WOW. Well done Chris.

Don't agree with a lot of the reviews. ....i think this wine has hit it's peak but still drinking quite good. colour is good and fruit is still alive, quite acidic on the finish. Not a great wine but still drinking very good.

Good ...but not great, coulor is medium to dark, spiced chtistmas cake on the nose. The fruit is forward tannin is strong but the 16% is notable and hangs around long after the fruit has gone. Didn't mind it now but will hopefully come together in a few more years, not that we can control the heat that is already there.

In about thd same place it was 5 years ago. Very dark, big big tannin structure. Good fruit profile, tannin started to mellow out after a couple of hours in the decanter. Still needs alot of sleep.

Heat and ethonol on the nose. wich made it unenjoyable to drink ..decanted for 3 hour's which turned this into a smooth fruity enjoyable monster. No need to be in any hurry.

In a good place at the moment. ....and by no means over the hill yet good balance of fruit spice dust and still some greenness on the nose. Very good aging wine for the price. Will not be scared to cellar for a few more years.

Pulled the cork and smelt of paint thinners and metho..!!!!! AMAZINGLY. ..it blew of in aproxamitly 1 hour to reveal a great wine of solid color and big black cherry. Sound wine with life in the tank..

WOW.....all the reviews. ....negative. the cork still crumbled and soft. But the wine devine old coonawarra shiraz. ..still dark in the glass lightning at the rim. soft spicy and leathery nose. Good fruit structure with a nice chocolate and musk lingering on the back pallet. tannin is fine and acid is good. All in all very happy. ...

Great wine.....starting to fade in the glass, but then the nose is so forward and rich..so smoth and elegant on the pallet. Such a pleasure to drink...im in no hurry to drink my last bottle.

What a brain teaser. ...so light in the glass as if it was 20 plus years old, but yet so big on the pallet . Full of young stewed fruits, sweetness and Christmas cake. But really just messed with my head.......still......yum..
