4/22/24, 11:36 AM - So I opened a 90 LB and a 90 Latour (2x+ the price). Suffice it to say my wife, said it’s no contest. One’s rustic and barnlike. The other (LB) is “regal”. A month later we had a tasting of 82’s Latour, Mouton and Lafite and once again the LB 82 showed at practically the same levels as wines the trade for 5x the price. It’s crazy. And every bottle I’ve opened of the 89 and the 90 are incredible. If you have any other vintages and labels at this level without being the obvious Uber expensive ones, let me know? I get so much more pleasure when the price is right!
3/1/24, 12:52 PM - I just bought some and have a 34 year potential horizon, that said the price it fetches today is very different from the old days. What are your thoughts about the further aging potential here? I’ve never had it and looking forward to trying it but also not afraid about moving out of it if the potential is not there. It’s hands down the most expensive Bdx is the las 50 years so the potential should be there.
1/27/24, 8:29 AM - How were you able to get the tasting? Did you just write into the email provided on their site?
1/27/24, 3:44 PM - Amazing! I wrote an email well in advance and got no response. I was disappointed cause I am a big fan of theirs. But great to know for the next time! 👍
11/25/23, 1:11 PM - Totally agree! I don’t know why I don’t just rate this 98+ cause that’s what it is.
8/27/23, 9:43 AM - Good catch! It wasn’t!
6/11/23, 6:01 PM - Super helpful and interesting. I was blown away by how good it was. The second night we had it next to a Pichon Baron 1990 (not exactly a slouch) and it was clearly a better wine!
7/5/21, 9:26 PM - None! I was very surprised. Interestingly enough, Jeff Leve (winecellarinsider.com), opened a bottle this weekend as well and had the same exact experience. Literally, pop and pour and it didn’t gain much over time. Stunning wine! I bought a Magnum and a couple more after having it. Enjoy!
4/22/21, 10:09 PM - How did it go with Benchmark?
5/30/20, 8:57 AM - You are absolutely right. First time trying this producer. I think this one turned so badly after the Coravin, that it spun me around.
5/24/20, 10:57 AM - I have a case of the Soldera. Ready to drink? Would be curious to hear your thoughts.
4/9/20, 2:07 PM - helpful
4/7/20, 9:57 PM - Have not had the 2012’s. Been leaning more towards Brunello of late. Let me know if you grab some and find them to be worthwhile?
4/4/20, 11:33 AM - Any luck finding more? What a wine!
2/13/20, 9:03 PM - How much did you pay at auction?
1/1/20, 8:02 PM - Did you decant? Took 4 hours to come around in case you have any more bottles.
9/28/19, 2:15 AM - Had it against a 1995 Pontet Canet and a Jaboullet La Chappell 1979. Hands down the winner! And purchased at a very decent price. Few bottles left for the next birthdays :). Good luck!
