On the first night this smelled like cider and not a lot else, to the point where I almost poured what was left down the sink. So pleased I didn’t because the following evening this really came alive. The cider notes are still there but now in the background and bring a natural Jura-esque vibe to the nose. The palate is delightfully expressive and intense with classic notes of brioche, baked apples and bright lemony acidity. If ever there was a Champagne to chuck in the decanter, this is it.

Intense nose of red fruit and floral notes, a little smoke and toasted spices. Really elegant on the palate with a long finish. Great value and drinking exceptionally well at this early stage.

Inviting nose of sweet red fruits, iron, blood orange, exotic spices, vanilla. Silky and intense on the palate framed by chalky tannins and balanced acidity. The finish is really long but there’s a bitter note which will hopefully resolve with time in the bottle.

Delicate and feminine with notes of cool red berries and cream, Vosne spice, pine needles and black tea. Complex and long finish, balanced acidity, fine and well integrated tannins. Delicious now with lots of upside potential.

Deep yellow in colour with flecks of gold. You could easily mistake this wine blind for top tier white Burgundy. Ripe citrus and sea shells on the nose. Creamy and full bodied with high acidity, lots of mineral notes and a long finish. There’s a touch of oxidation which isn’t unwelcome; perhaps a slightly off bottle? One of the better Assyritko from the beautiful island of Santorini. Excellent value for the price.

Rich and complex notes of strawberries, baked apple, toasted hazelnuts, brioche and lemon oil. Great acidity with chalky minerality and an impressively long finish. A delicious champagne which paired well with a range of different dishes. Base 2016 disgorged March 2020.

Blown away by the intensity and weight given the price point. Deep purple in colour. The nose jumps out of the glass with notes of sweet black fruit, white pepper and some barnyard funk. The tannins definitely need some time to integrate but the potential is definitely there so let these sleep a little while and you’ll be well rewarded.

Notes of blackberries, cassis, graphite, a little black pepper and leather. Gravelly minerality with velvety tannins and fresh acidity. The finish is long and persistent. A really interesting and complex wine which is at a great point on its development curve.

Fresh strawberries, raspberries, red cherries and cherry cola with some baking spices. Good complexity for its level. The tannins are on the rustic side and the acidity is a touch harsh. But it’s definitely got potential so give it a few more years in bottle to let everything come together.

Leather, earth, olive brine, peppery black fruits. Savoury with fresh acidity and well integrated tannins. This is drinking really well right now and I don’t see much reason to wait any longer if you still have some in the cellar.

Wonderful balance of matchstick reduction with white and yellow fruits. Impressive complexity and depth of fruit on the palate. Racy acidity and silky texture. Wonderfully long finish. No heat at all despite the 14.5% mentioned on the label. Represents cracking value even with the ever increasing prices for this producer. If this is village quality then I’m looking forward to opening up the 1ers. Believe the hype.

Initially a little reticent on the nose, with air opens up to complex notes of red berries, crushed strawberries, toasted oak and spices. Really expressive and inviting. Incredible depth of plush, creamy, sweet red fruits, floral notes and a mineral edge. A little sous bois in the background. Fresh acidity and already well integrated tannins. The oak is noticeable but not distracting. Complex and persistent finish. Top quality and excellent value considering the vines are now more than 100 years old.

Rose gold in colour. Initially shy on the nose, gains in interest with either air or an increase in temperature. Intense palate of fresh red fruits, apples, lemon oil, hazelnuts and toasted brioche. Fresh acidity and fine bubbles. Impressive length. A well made champagne and very enjoyable in its youth. Delicious paired with fried chicken.

Shy, reductive nose. Dark fruits, sour cherries, raspberries, a green savoury note. Acidity on the higher side with good weight and concentration. My first experience with this producer and not sure I buy into the hype. Maybe the few more bottles in the cellar will change my mind down the line?

Expressive and complex nose of creamy red and black fruits, some stem influence, vanilla and spices, with a mineral edge.
Sweet and juicy but not overripe fruits, sous bois.
High acidity with already quite well integrated tannins.
A real pleasure to drink now.

Beautiful bouquet of spicy red berries and floral notes. On the palate, fresh strawberries and roses are balanced by a herbal, savoury note. Sweet tannins and good acidity. Excellent complexity and length for a village wine. A lighter style and absolutely delicious.

On the nose we find reductive notes of struck match and smoke. Hazelnut oil, stone fruits and lemon zest. A little menthol comes and goes. The palate is delightfully creamy and mouth coating. Notes of fresh citrus, white peach and apples are balanced by a touch of bitterness from the oak. Racy acidity balances the richness and leads into a long finish.

Decanted. Dark fruits straight after opening, quite shy on the nose. With air the fruit sweetens up and is joined by floral notes, spice and sous bois.
Beautiful black and red fruits on the palate intertwined with earthiness and classic Morey wildness.
Impressive structure; the tannins are a touch rustic but grippy and the fresh acidity is mouth watering.
Very long and detailed finish.
Incredibly well made wine which demands a long time in the cellar, or a good decant, even in this supposedly earlier drinking vintage.

Beautiful nose, classic Nebbiolo notes of red berries, fresh roses, smoke and spices. Garnet in colour, fully translucent. The palate delivers what was promised by the nose with serious intensity. Great acidity and grippy tannins. Impressively long finish. Punches well above its regional appellation. In a really delicious spot now, with a good decant, but will definitely age further.

Juicy dark red and black fruits, creamy with some spice and vanilla. Chewy tannins with good acidity present but all is in balance. Good length. Overall this wine represents excellent value. Really enjoyable now but will improve. Happy to have a few more in the cellar to see how this develops.

Very expressive nose which jumps out of the glass. Notes of candied strawberry, raspberry, cherry cola and white pepper. On the palate, crunchy red fruits, some orange peel, a little barnyard funkiness. Significant structure but very enjoyable now. Better in a few years.

Fully translucent bright red in colour. Ripe, juicy red fruits, bordering on black fruit. Touch of baking spices and vanilla. Tannins are on the rustic side. Good acidity which freshens the wine and balances out the ripe fruits. Not particularly complex but enjoyable nonetheless. Finishes a little hot (14% alcohol).
