We wouldn’t open a 2010 like this at home, we would cellar it for another 5-10 years, but we’re in a restaurant
Red fruit, tart cherry with a tannic oaky backbone. This is a wine I want to own .
Hour two the wine improved.

Initially slightly funky on the nose, and muted on the palate. We proceeded to put it aside while we slowly dined and enjoyed two other bottles.
When we returned to the Jadot we were pleasantly rewarded with a beautiful old Amourouse.
Cherry and currents laced with beautiful Chambolle floral elements. There were some tertiary elements that come with age as it was clearly drinking as an older Burg.

I purchased this at a discount from an auction due to it being an off year. Thankfully it performed well and compared favorably to other vintages of Vogue premiere.
There weren’t any overt green notes.

Great concentration of dark berries and surprisingly accessible for a young Burg.
It’s probably not as expressive as it will be at maturity but still enjoyable

Ripe cherry kirsch. Of the three Rayas we’ve been fortunate to drink on this trip this is the ripest with a hint of oxidation that detracted from the experience versus the 2006 we enjoyed earlier.
The signature green element is present

A big wine with a tight tannic spine.
No surprise that the last sip 2 hours in was the best sip.
Not expressive over all but did exhibit some cherry, oak and tannin.

In a blind Pinot tasting, this surprised me. For an ‘03 it was fresh, with red fruit predominant. I suspected new world and was surprised it was a Ducs. I was expecting more tertiary flavors once it was revealed but they were in the background. It’s drinking well with many more year’s ahead of it imo.
