Opened 1 hour in advance. Fresh, almost vibrant and energetic. Medium+ acidity, great integrated. It delivers lots of different citrus fruits, a flowery tone, wet stone, a little ripe musk melon and some petroleum (which disappears after a while). Super intense, but yet very fresh and elegant. Great balance and length. Clearly in the drinking window, but with a lot of life left. Lovely wine.

Opened 3 hours in advance. Elegant and quiet fruity in the expression. Medium+ acidity and tannin, both surprisingly well integrated all ready. It delivers menthol, roses, lots of strawberries, some sour cherries and a little forrest floor. With the air, it presents itself great and the balance is very good. Semi long aftertaste and good depth. Clearly a light and elegant style of Nebbiolo, but with the structure to last for quite a while.

Precise and focused. Medium+ to high acidity, extremely well integrated. It delivers tons of lime, a little grapefruit, petroleum (which decreases over time), wet stone, a touch of mint and some unripe pineapple. Terrific balance and tremendous depth, especially after a little time in the glass, where the flavor profile really begins to shine. Good length as well. Drinking great at this point, but clearly has a lot of life left. This producer just never disappoints.

Decanted for 2 hours. It clearly needed the air, but turned out quite approachable after the decant. Fresh and energetic in the expression, with a good intensity. Medium+ acidity and tannin, both decent integrated. It delivers lots of sour cherries, cranberries, wet stone, some Tuscan herbs and a little orange peel. Good balance the age taking into consideration and a semi long aftertaste. It's drinking surprisingly well already (with a decant) and will most likely only add in complexity with time.

Opened 1 hour in advance, but not decanted. Fresh, energetic and with a good texture. Medium+ acidity, great integrated. It delivers lemon, red grapefruit, chalk, a less pronounced floral tone (clearly present however) and a nice underlying seaside/salty touch embracing it all. Great balance and length. Still young and with the structure to last for quite a while, but it drinks so damn well already if given some air.

Deg. 2023. 5g dosage. Fresh, elegant and a bit oxidized in style. Medium+ acidity, well integrated. It delivers lemon, ripe red apples, red grapefruit, candied raspberries and unripe hazelnut. Good length and great balance. Lacking a little in complexity to get a higher rating, but excellent QPR. Drinking great now, but it’s still young and clearly has a lot of life left. Lovely winemaking.

Opened 30-40 minutes in advance, but not decanted. Creamy and intense, but with a good freshness overall. Medium acidity, perfectly integrated. It delivers lemon curd, a little ripe grapefruit, clearly some butter, a clear floral tone (maybe lilies) and a chalky element lying underneath it all. Quite classic in the expression, with a dense structure and a good length. Super balance and intensity. Drinking surprisingly well at this point, but can clearly be saved for several years as well.

Decanted for 1 hour. Expressive and refined, with medium tannin and acidity (acidity a bit more dominant), both good integrated. It delivers crisp red and blue fruit, especially ripe strawberries and blackberries, a clear floral tone and some subtle hints of different spices. Good length and texture. Clearly primary in the expression at this point and would most likely gain in complexity with time. Can easily be saved for a decade.

Opened one hour in advance, but not decanted. Fresh, precise and extremely well balanced. Medium tannin and acidity, beautifully integrated. It delivers forrest strawberries, some red currant, a little wood (beautifully integrated) and a less pronounced smoky tone as well. Good length and pretty light in structure. Can clearly add in complexity with time and it most likely will. However, the balance and intensity is remarkably good, especially the young age taken into consideration. I will give it a 93 for now.

1g dosage and 100% pinot noir. Elegant and precise in the expression. Medium+ acidity, good integrated (blocked malolactic fermentation in this one). It delivers red currant, wild raspberries, cherry stone, clearly red grapefruit, some lemon and a slightly oxidized note to, which might come from the low level of SO2 and the oak barrels used during the fermentation. Great structure and intensity. In general an extremely fresh and acidity driven style, that might scare someone off, but it’s clearly very well made. Drinking quite well at this point, but can obviously be saved to. 93 for now, with the potential for more.

Opened 2 hours in advance and decanted for one. It clearly had a positive impact. Fresh and precise in the expression, but a bit heavier in structure than the “Santa Maria” cru. Medium+ acidity and tannin, both good integrated. It delivers cherries, a tone of menthol, a less pronounced hint of cassis, cranberries and a earthy tone towards the end. Good balance and length. Drinking quite well at this point (with some air), but some additional time in the cellar would probably help put it all together even better. A small 93.

Opened 2 hours in advance and decanted, since it seemed quite closed at first. It clearly helped. A fresh, elegant and primary expression of Sangiovese, but still with the structure to last for quite a while. Medium+ tannin and acidity, both good integrated. It delivers cherries, cranberries, a little bit of blood orange, some menthol and a understated tone of dried flowers. Good balance and semi long aftertaste. With some air this can be enjoyed with great pleasure already, but will most likely gain in both balance and complexity if saved for a couple of years.

Pure, precise and intense. Medium+ acidity, good integrated. It delivers crisp green apples, lemon, a hint of ginger at the end and clearly some wood (12 months in 228 and 500L barrels). Decent balance, but a little time in the cellar would probably help put it all together even better. Good intensity and aftertaste. Great potential.

Young, but still extremely well composed and quite approachable already. Medium acidity and tannin, both smooth and well integrated. It delivers lots of red fruit (especially red currant and raspberries), a green touch (20% whole cluster) and some notable but extremely well controlled oak as well. Great balance and freshness. Lacking a little in complexity, but will most likely get it with some age. The potential is there for sure, but it’s already a lovely and well made wine.

Zero dosage and 100% pinot noir. Fresh and with a quit remarkable elegance. Medium+ acidity, great integrated. It delivers crispy and ripe red apples, brioche, honey, red currant, a clear mineral tone and a mixture of ripe citrus fruit. A long and pronounced aftertaste. Good and layered complexity. Clearly in a good spot now. I also experiencing a minor, but still quite pronounced, oxidative tone in the overall expression, which you have to like to enjoy this glass, but it’s absolutely within my personal preferences. A very well made wine.

More or less the same experience as my last bottle, August 22. Still a little hot and overly ripe in the expression compared to what I prefer. However, it’s generally well balanced and the acidity do provide some freshness and life. Gonna stay at 92, but I don’t see any upside by saving it much longer.

Fresh, vibrant and almost electric in the expression. Medium to medium+ acidity, beautifully integrated. It delivers a clear floral tone, different citrus fruits (especially lime and red grape fruit), a stony tone, unripe hazelnut and crispy green apple. Good balance and structure. Long and pleasant aftertaste. Maybe not the classic expression you would expect from a Chablis, but a delightful experience and excellent QPR. Drinking quite well as this point, but have a lot of life left clearly.

Decanted for 2 1/2 hours. Fresh, elegant and surprisingly approachable. Medium+ acidity and tannin, both great integrated. Tannin a bit more dominant, but still quite polished in structure. It delivers sour cherries, raspberries, vermouth, camphor, a hint of roses and forrest floor. Good balance and structure, the later providing a clear promise of more to come if you got the patience. Long and pronounced aftertaste, which last for quiet a while. A very solid 93 at this point.

A fresh and delightful experience. Medium to medium+ acidity, very good integrated. A lot has happened since my last bottle almost 2 years ago. Matchstick, fireworks and a flinty tone welcomes you, as a result of the clear and precise reductiveness. You’re also getting grapefruit, a hint of white lilies and lime. Great balance and a pretty good length. Still with room for further improvement, but definitely in a good spot now.

As always a quite elegant experience with Luciano’s wines. Complex and powerful at the same time. Medium+ acidity and tannin, both good integrated. It delivers dark cherries, blackberries, menthol, tobacco, some leather and a little plum towards the end. Good balance and length. Drinking great at this point. The relatively hot vintage taking into consideration, which clearly shows in the expression, I personally wouldn’t save it for much longer though. However, depending on how much freshness you seek in a wine, it easily can develop for another 4-5 years.

It delivers lots of lime, clearly grapefruit, a hint of white peach and a very pronounced minerality. Good structure and a long aftertaste. However, it needs time to show its full potential. The acidity and tannin allows one to save it further, but if you prefer the fruit and freshness to have a significant place within the experience, you might start drinking your bottles.

Still with a lot of life left, but drinking quite beautiful now. Another bottle that confirms that 14 is clearly a underrated vintage when it comes to Barbaresco in general and this producer more specific. I have to increase my rating to a very solid 93.

Super elegant and juicy. Medium acidity and tannin, both well integrated. The acidity a little more pronounced than the tannin, but it provides a quite pleasant freshness in the end though. It delivers red fruit (especially strawberries and raspberries), a clear candied tone, some herbs and a hint of smoke towards the end. The balance is very good and the length above average. A very nice experience. The structure clearly allows you to save it as well, if you prefer a more complex and less fresh/juicy expression.

Fresh, light (for Nebbiolo) and elegant. Medium+ acidity and tannin, both well integrated. The tannin is extremely fine for Nebbiolo. It delivers lots of red fruit (especially forrest strawberries and wild raspberries), medicine cabinet, rose petals and rose hip. Giving me some associations to the style you sometimes experiences from top producers in Verduno. The balance is superb and the aftertaste quite long. It could surly benefit a little from additional cellaring when it comes to increasing the complexity, but it’s already an extremely interesting wine. A solid 93 at this point.

Decanted for 2 hours before drinking, which was needed. It was pretty closed to begin with, but after the decant, fresh and aromatic red fruit suddenly appeared (especially strawberries). Floral tones and candied elements followed. It ended up super elegant and drinkable (as so much 19 are), but it clearly needed the air. I’m a sucker for the elegant and juicy expression, so ending on a solid 93 at this point, but if you prefer a little more complexity and less freshness, save it some years. It seems to have enough structure to develop for quite a while.

Clearly approaching its peak in my opinion, whit an expression that delivers both weight, freshness and complexity. That being said, it still contains the acidity to live for quite a while. However, the earthy tone is getting more pronounced again and is better integrated in the overall expression. The same goes for the acidity, which is beautifully integrated and less pronounced in general, but still provides a pleasant clearance in the end. Menthol can be added as well. Good aftertaste and length. Gonna stay at 92.

Very representative for the 19 vintage, with such an elegant and fruit forward profil.
