Light transparent garnet red.

Fresh and vibrant nose of red berries, red currant, rhubarb.

The palate is delicate and savory with red fruit but finishes rather short. A bit ‘flat’ and I can’t help to be somewhat disappointed.

This doesn’t live up to the superb freshness of the 2017 which I tried 3 years ago.

Maybe it’s too early to be drinking this. I’ll wait another year before trying the next bottle.

The bottles arrived very recently. We’ve been waiting patiently for months to finally taste the goodies. So of course we couldn’t wait.
We’ve been enjoying earlier vintages on and off in our tasting group, and the Ætheria is almost religious to us. We were discussing that the lack of depth might be down to shipping as it has only had about 5-ish days since arrival till we opened the first bottle.

Luckily we have about 30 more bottles between us to be tried again at a later date! The Chardonnay and Pinot are yet to be tasted.

Uncorked roughly 20 hours before consumption. Decanted the following morning for about 8 hours. This we had been recommended by someone who has had this on multiple occasions.

The colors was dark garnet red. It didn’t look like something that was about to turn 40.

The nose was pencil, leather, cigar box, barn yard and classic broccoli stalk which I always find in Mouton wines.

On the palate soft as a babys butt. Silky smooth with fine fine acidity. Very tertiary. Leather, coffee, tobacco and sour blackberries lingering in the background. The taste offers fantastic length and it emanates power and confidence. I do however miss some fruit and vibrancy in the flavor. The texture was another level though.

The bottle was perfectly sourced with track record. Every one at the table was excited just by getting to drink this wine (#metoo)… But it sure did feel like it was missing something. Maybe our expectations were too high. Or maybe the great 1982 is on decline.

We had it next to Cheval Blanc 1990 which completely stole the show.

If there will ever be a next time, it will probably be uncorked and then decanted straight away for just a couple of hours or so.
You live and you learn. But an expensive lesson this one.

Dark red with beginning lighter edges.

The nose is extremely inviting. Super potent. Pencil led, sour cherries, red fruit and terroir. Tobacco.

On the palate it is tight but starten to loosen.

Great acidity, fresh red berries, green veg and grippy but harmonious tannins.

Not as complex as big brother Latour, but a superb glass from a strong vintage.

Flawless bottle and lvl high neck.

Nice dark color with browning edges.

The nose is classic old Bordeaux. Tobacco, leather and dusty dark fruit.

The taste is red fruited. Age signs for sure, but well alive. The fruit is nice, and the tertiary notes as well as the soft acidity. What is missing is the structure. The wine feels simple and rather short.

I wouldn’t save this any longer. Consumed in a 1992 themed tasting.

The 89 is what made me a sucker for mature Pauillac. This 92 is sadly in the latter stages.

Expressive nose of dark fruit, pencil led, leather and spice.

The palate is youthful. Well rounded mature tannins and great fruit and acidity. So balanced and harmonious. It’s performing great after so long. Power, finesse, length. It still has years left!

Pristine bottle.
