A clumsy wine. Missing acid and varietal character. Not unpleasant, has weight, ripe fruit, peach fuzz herbal tones, easy to quaff given sweet fruit melodies. On a beach picnic, ice cubes and seltzer and plastic cups would stretch this out nicely.
Poor qpr.
Red
Bitter, green stem, undrinkable.
Difficult to understand:
why it was bottled and sold?
why other notes find a different wine?
To be sure, I tasted 4 other open bottles of wine and my taste finds each correct.

Pale, glorious display of bubbles, fresh bread on the nose, blows off immediately. Stylish, complex with weight (as noted by other tasters), balance is lovely, completely integrated medium ripe fruit, yeast submerged, with a dominant layer of textured soft sweet flower not honied drier more exotic.

QPR for USA sparklers, would outshine many at twice the price.

Dark red, I thought I saw blue tints, with determined and complex nose, flowers, spices, sweet berry. Sweetish, soft entry, ripe berries, blackberry seeds, interesting mineral follow thru, then iron.
Agree with previous tasters for the most part. It shows complexity, some may find iron a flaw, (it is not sweet nor overripe, nor tannic nor oaky). Good value @ $25. says I.

Agree with tasting note on 2019 vintage, a very enticing wine. A taste leaves your palate painted in tropical fruit, ripe, wanting more. Much broader than most NZ SBs with nice mouth feel, serious depth, ripe fruit acid, required rumor of SB cat y piss icity. All in perfect balance. Congrats to the winemakers, they know their stuff, very fair price at US$17. Terrific restaurant wine.

I watered the plants with two $13. NZ SB this week.

Light pleasant floral nose. A big balanced mouthfeel, integrated fruit, mineral, sufficient wood to expand the taste profile. I understand the previous comment about sweet however disagree and suggest that absence of acid (tartaric acid) and ripe grapes challenge palates accustomed to unripe grape and acid additions.
The label deserves a look.

I am testing the Chablis oyster thesis; Albarino with oysters may offer a more expansive experience.

Could be called a quaffer. @US$15, WOE is mediocre Chardonnay.
Why is so much woody wood chipped Chard sold and consumed? Buy oak chip futures.

Exceptionally fragrant aromas of pear perfume and white flowers. Smooth entrance, delicate essence of fruit, palate filling viscosity, a layer of oak mineral. To me, a unique Chardonnay, I imagine angels sipping it from trumpet lilies. Is this a food wine? Appetizers, salads, a perfect match. Meals?

For the curious Pinot Noirers

Surprising color despite obvious browning. Initial nose oxidation and if you persist intriguing spice. The intense and shifting aromas deserve sips and inhaling. Taste follows nose, nice sweet dry fruit, wrinkles of maturity. Shall I compare thee to an old Burgundy or Barolo? All show their age, Beaux Freres still smiles.

Not a wine for most tasters, I prefer it any Pinot cola tasted in the past few years.

Note: Collio is only designation L2078.
Full bodied, rich on the palate lovely taste, not ripe fruit, not mineral, could fool most Chardonnay drinkers. Except those who miss the oak. To my taste, not like a Pinot Grigio, too full bodied and luxurious. In the words of RP hedonistic.

At $25 and compared to Chards, a steal and a well made wine.

Light cherry candy nose. Amber correct Pinot color. Medium ripe fruit pleasant acid tones, quite nice on the palate, good balance, Pinot should taste like a touch racy, in motion, fruit, acid, aroma. I find a hint of cola.
Excellent Pinot for the price.
As for that that cola - Is it overripe fruit, root beer clones, charred barrels? Why US Pinot and never Burgundy?

Faint Pinot from the glass. Rich full fruit entry, then you get that dried tea, herb, iron, bitter finish. Stalks and green vines? Some tasters are not bothered by this, I am. Your style, if not, swallow quickly.

This atypical NZ SB displays well balanced tastes of ripe tropical fruit, showy tart tongue pleasing acid and a glycerin mouth filling minerality. Not sweet but ripe, not acidic but tarty, not strangling but a serious core of inviting mineral. Well made, Sisters. Atypical, I say, because SB tasters regardless of country of origin, do not anticipate rich ripe fruit (as in fine Riesling), tart matched with a lingering coating of that white wine rare glycerin, underlayer of persistent softish mineral.

Many well made wines are atypical, open your palate and taste the difference.

Pleasing cheery purple, staid nose, "Official Wine Major League Soccer" @ US$10 must be a party wine. If you gave me a $10 bottle limit, I would select this rather than tasting glass on
glass of $10 sweet or sour Chateau Sweat Reserva de Tequila Barrel. This is not an endorsement. In truth, I've fertilized my herbs with $30 Malbec which was too potent to use a paint remover. This may be drunk with little guilt for tasting downmarket, jalapenos and cubanos and Scotch Bonnets the wine match, no harm done.

Not a Chard fan, this is a not bad Chard. No obvious flaws other than being a Chard. Nice balance, oak, acid in moderation, per a previous note buttery after warming and airing, mouth feel expands, Wine Spectator 92 - well, lack of flaws deserves some points. You could pay $50 for a Chard and chew toothpicks, this is not a bad value.

After 3 days, popcorn aroma.

Floral nose with touch of dried herb. A big mouthful of Cab, as Cab should be balanced, silk tannins that French kiss your tongue, the taste persists long after you swallow. A sensuous drinking experience. A textbook example of balance. Louis Martini, bless his soul, offered many such wines in the 1960s and 1970s, a 68 I drank 20 years later Memorable and at $3 + - a bottle beyond the imagination of 2021 wine tasters.
FYI, $3. bought a bottle of Christian Bros. Cab, $5. Brother Timothy selection Cabs and Zins, not far off this Martini 2017 Napa in quality. Graceful wines, for meals; replaced with woodchips, alcohol, power wines with odd labels.

Dark purple, lovely deep serious fruit nose which turns chemical with swirling. Green vine, bitter chemical taste. Something not right here like a chemical reaction to air. Have no prior experience with such a taste, not volatile acidity, more frightening.

Read Dravin's note. I find too much cloying brown sugar, too sweet, lacks finesse and age expected in a 20 year old tawny. Next to a vintage port. This would taste like brown sugar candy.

Broad, mid weight with petrol and glycerine, lacking focus, little if no Riesling identity. As I read the comments, not a bad white wine, not a good Riesling. Alsace produces some of the world's finest white wines, this is not one.

Color matches a current release Pinot, darker with depth, tawny at bottom layer. Not a simple wine to assess, on the nose strawberry crush over light sherry. Taste of sweet pleasantly tart strawberry, inviting, - must be a young wine - oh wait, a layer of dried well aged medium dry sherry, enables another pour - what exactly is this?
Very few taster's have the opportunity to experience the nuances of well aged Burgundy, Barolo , Sherry, Port, Sauternes fewer an Oregon Pinot.

Why not add to the conflicting list of "likes"? I get a juicy medium dry rich mouthfeel with saline, mineral follow thru and a wee hint of pith. The juicy feel is distinctive, luscious, as in keep refilling my glass. Aperitif, yes, seafood course, perfect, many main courses, why not. Figure 1 bottle per person for each course unless your guests are big drinkers.

Deep dark shimmering purple. Snoft of funk, too slow and you missed it, spicy ripe berry fruit, juicy, and serious. Tastes fresh and adolescent. Persistent cinnamon like or cedar wood spice. Correct acid balance, a very nice and atypical Malbec refined by the 25% Cabernet Franc. A must try for understanding the potential of Argentine Malbec and Cabernet Franc (there are other producers in Argentina) when made with love and care.

Pronounced parfum du barnyard which lingers over floral perfume with cedar airs. Swirl away the farm merde and inhale the flower garden. Spice soaked food friendly acid layer over medium ripe fruit layer mixed with inviting tannins which add complexity. A Pauillac with a feminine side, graceful but spirited, saucy, seeks your attention.
2016 Bordeaux: I would compare to the 1970 vintage in breath of great wines drinkable young, age worthy combining naturally ripe fruit, balance, superb winemaking. My now 92 year old wine merchant found some $3.00 1970 satellite Bordeaux which was my introduction to great Bordeaux.

This is a big old style Rhone saturated in color and taste with a heady nose to forewarn you. Well balanced, correct acid level, correct oak, moderate tannins, quite youthful, cellar worthy, can be drunk now to taste a Rhone which brings on descriptives like garrigue, leather, beef, blood, don't be put off, try a bottle of classic French wine before the feared demise of French culture if reports prove true.

A wine of 1001 complexions - well named Donnafugata! Is it ripe grapes, morello cherry juice, name a berry, it's here. Is it young and flirty or auditioning for a spot in your cellar? A few taster's will get the balsamic notes mentioned by the winemaker. Umani anyone? How about the glycerin cannuba wax candy finish - from Sicily yeah right.

I suspect the winemaker has a refined sense of humor and ultra refined palate.

Nothing from the glass. Flat Pinot Blanc like taste all mineral, plus 13% alc. Misses the entire reason to drink Riesling. Some world class wines are made in Alto Adige I've been there and drank them. This may age and even develop but won't taste like Riesling.

First taste is lively acid not frizzante but comparable, nice young fruit on mid palate invites a second glass. Quite pleasant, balanced, a certain spiciness, where are the salty snacks? The last taste is a hint of bitter almond - an Italian wine attribute? Were I eating pasta puttanesca or arrabbiata I would not notice it and would be ordering a second bottle. For every bottle there is a dish.

Light floral herb mineral aroma. Entry is not quite spritzy dry fruit, then interesting herb, mineral, medium fruit, moderate acidity over a persistent layer of stone which adds complexity and depth. What a match for raw shellfish. Perhaps, not every taster will appreciate what some will find intriguing. Comparison: bone dry Alsatian Riesling?

In a blind tasting who in the world would guess Sicily? Many Sicilian wines taste non Italian and remain untasted.

Argentine Malbec - at all price points- can range from rustic, high oak, high acid, mal fermented, off taste, tannic unfit for the vinegar barrel TO balanced, easy to drink, perfect food wines made from clean ripe grapes, correct oak and acid levels, some lush, some brighter. This Malbec is well made, nicely balanced, one quaff more bright fruit hint of tart, the next quaff, a bit deeper mouthfeel. I expect it will improve with air. At $20, outshines the last five Malbecs tasted by far.

Complex spicy saturated perfect fruit on the palate, layered, a touch of herb, tobacco and exquisite balance. Improves with air, will age, easy to drink today with no decanting. One of the top 2016 Bordeaux I have tasted. Well worth the price for a vintage of the decade or lifetime who's to say.

Deep red, pleasant broad mature nose. Clean, just ripe fruit, full on the palate but by no means a fruit or sugar bomb, perfectly balanced by correct juicy acid and dry dusty tannins to add interest. No wood evident, not overripe nor adulterated. At $20, a steal for lovers of well made balanced wines, Malbec or other. I'm impressed.

Please note Nieto Sentiner produces several bottlings of Malbec, "Don Nicanor" is one, others have been reviewed.

Lovely fresh and persistent Pinot nose. Medium red color. Nice round clean balanced acid fruit mouthfeel. Medium weight on the palate. Tasting my way into the bottle, bitter green stem overwhelms the ripe fruit. Second glass adds barnyard to floral fruit, odd to me, normally merde is first glass impression with blow off.

The entry is so fresh and attractive, the swallow not to my taste.

One of the unexamined questions about winemaking.
Each year, thousands of blended Rhone wine are sold and enjoyed, simple or elegant, nuanced or basic, age worthy or not. A taster would encounter some difficulty finding a green, stemmy, bitter bottle in any vintage year.
California has weather to ripen every varietal, modern equipment, educated wine makers, monied investors yet sells so many flawed wines. One could blame greed, or, conglomerate buyers, or mass market consumers. Quite a unexpected outcome; my recollection of California wines in the 60s and 70s was balance, attempts at elegance, no green stems, no over oaking not over ripeness.

The assorted notes capture it, my take, bright berry mixed up with wood chips and odd stemmy additions. In Burgundy, it's about the juice; in Oregon, barrels and wood chips. Here, I taste the decent juice, regrettable the winemaker mistrusted the grapes.

A curiosity - one vintage of Grenache tasted by a few Beaux Freres listees. When young, luscious sweet fruit with no Gigondas edge. In old age, color persists, sweet cinnamon spice nose, soft, sweet lush fruit on entry, then dried oregano heat. The sweet dry heat cannot be compared to any wine I've tasted, too sweet? Too hot? Too spicy? A preserved relic from 2006.
