Decanted for 2 hours. Dominant aromatics of mint and eucalyptus at first, rather overwhelming and intense. Further notes emerge of crushed black and blue berries, lilac, and leather. Integrated on the palate, medium body, gravel, tobacco, smoke, lacking just a little in intensity and drive. While this will hold, I do think it’s ready to go.

10/31/22, 6:21 AM - If you have a few, I would open one. For me, yes I thought it was lacking that extra gear or second layer that the top tier wines have. However, I did enjoy this very much - 93 points for me is no slouch. I would absolutely love to drink this again in great company and conversation.

Pop and pour. Beautiful red fruit and purple flowers on the nose. Palate is crunchy red fruits with layers of spice and floral notes. Wide open for business right now. I could drink this every night.

Removing the wax top on this is a less than enjoyable experience. The wine pours a pale dull lemon. Decanted for 1 hour. Aromatics include lemon, light touch of cream, citrus, wet rock, all very appealing. Medium body, medium + intensity, high in acidity, flavors of green apple, lemon, flint, sea shells, and stone. The quality of flavors is extremely pure and focused. The finish is noteworthy as it has staying power. This notches the score up a level. I would agree, sorta like Riesling meets Chablis in a way. Recommended.

This came off a bit too ripe for my liking, showing port like aromatics of plums and dark ripe berries. There is some earthy herbal character to the mid-palate, but overall thought this was out of balance and lacking much needed lift and freshness, or at least another dimension of complexity.

I feel this is aging a little. Worth drinking sooner rather than later.

I liked this a good deal better than the Tondonia from the same vintage. This has a very classic build showing driving acids behind lots of matured in wood notes. There is some oxidation mixed in with leather and spice cabinet. Unfolding complexity. Different hints at different times. The finish is a good deal tart and the fruit not super fresh. I'd have to disagree that this needs more time. The fruit density really isn't here for that and it's already drinking fairly maturely. I just don't think this the vintage to be aging. This is one to drink while the better vintages age.

The ripe weight shows itself too much, with a flat round texture, lacking in focus and form. There is no secondary components, depth, or vibrancy that I’m looking for. Not my style

10/27/19, 5:23 AM - Yes, a very young wine. I see this more as a stylistic choice, a wine being "made", rather than a representation of place.

This has all the stuffing to be fantastic with its compact and appealing dense core, offering cedar, iron, tobacco and blackberry. Still tight on the finish, not giving way. You can see it's very high quality, just not ready.

10/25/19, 12:07 PM - My score is based on how it was showing when tasted. There is potential for this to be higher, but that was not taken into consideration with my current rating, just noted for future reference.
