Light straw color, almost saline, evocative of sun-lit Aegean Santorini. Should pair perfectly with oysters, dolmades, feta.

As expected late harvest, dessert wine. Other bottles should last a decade or more, perhaps will develop more character.

Consumed with Jay B at Django where bartender/som decanted it for us to great effect. Soft like a Pinot, with resolved tannins and long lingering flavor.

Good that this is my last/only bottle of this as it seems on the back side of its best drinking window. Still pleasant enough. Balanced acidity with black plum/date fruitiness, black pepper, maybe some black tea and wood smoke. Better after aerating for an hour or so. Has a nice, lingering finish and good mouth feel.

Opened on a Saturday afternoon and poured. Dark, dense brick to mahogany in color, nose is dusty cigar and leather. Dry, soft tannins, sweet red raspberry predominant with black currant and dark plum notes. Second glass, two hours in: cherry candy has overtaken other flavor notes. Monday: last glass. Bottle has been refrigerated since opening two days ago. Muted black cherry and currant with a hint of pepper.

Allowed to breath for 40 minutes before pour. Balanced, well-structured, solid tannin backbone to luscious, dark fruit. Now certainly within its prime consumption window that likely has several years to run.

Big body, sweet, jammy, blue fruit, bright, balanced, dry. Tannins fully resolved. One last bottle remaining. Small, boutique, Spring Mountain winery sold and stopped producing for U.S. commercial market in 2014.

Consumed (partly) at Dogpatch Urban Farm farm-to-table dinner with Kelly & Denny, Mo & Jim. Was unremarkable paired with lamb main course; likely would have enjoyed more with beef.

Drinking beautifully; memorable component with Dogpatch Urban Farms farm-to-table dinner shared with Denny & Kelly, Jim and Mo. Better pairing for the food than the big name cabernet I brought and also opened. Glad I still have 4 in the cellar; should be fine for another decade or so if they and I last that long.

Buttery, apple-peach-pear with lingering mango and citrus. One of the best Chards I’ve opened in some time. Two bottles remaining that could drink now or hold for years.

Possibly held a bit too long. Subtle apple fruit souring a bit, butter, no oak discerned.

Pale color; prominent alcohol, mango, pear, peach. Have opened 2 of 4. Agree with earlier comments: similar to a Riesling, and might pair well with Indian or spicy East Asian foods.

Note added 04/14/22: I opened one of these a couple of weeks ago. It seemed balanced but past its best drinking date. Gave two of the remaining to a friend, RK, on 04/18/22, for his opinion.

Musty, dusty nose. Astringent, dark plum, peppery finish. Still lively, but unremarkable. Glad to have now consumed this, my only bottle of this wine and vintage. Paired with pork chops and a rhubarb sauce with palm-cheesy polenta.

White, dry Riesling, citrus and lightly floral; crisp, with balanced fruit and acidity. Paired with orange-ginger chicken tonight.

Initially, a significant mineral, musty earthiness. After 15 minutes aeration, black tea and cigar box, a hint of blackberry. Softly tannic. Strong legs suggest high alcohol - as does time after a few sips.

Actually consumed most of two of these over the past two days. First bottle seemed past its prime, and quality of dinner on 2nd night led me to open 2nd bottle. This one drank nicely from opening and over the next 2 hours. Tannins have gentled, dark fruit paired nicely with filet and mushroom sauce with roasted broccoli and fingerlings. First bottle an 88. Haven’t yet finished either bottle, but feel vindicated for finally opening these. One left in inventory.

Opened a half hour before pouring. Three hours later enjoying a third glass, with a bit left to see how it does on day 2. Deliciously soft CA cabernet. Leathery nose with dark berry notes. Well balanced tannins with dark cherry and raspberry fruit. Opened substantially, after the pause, but very nice accompaniment with dinner of rib eye, roasted potatoes with Romesco sauce and roasted mixed veggies with melted Parmesan cheese. Last bottle of the 2015. In the window, but I would like to have a few more bottles to enjoy over the next 5 to 7 years.

Mild, light acid, not very sweet, creamy finish, lightly oaked Chardonnay. Drank over three or four days with chicken and salmon dinners.

Decent super Tuscan drinking well now. Semi-sweet and still fairly astringent. Red berry fruit, black currant, slightly chocolate, green peppercorn.

Used part of the bottle to poach pears with cinnamon, cloves, star anise and five spice.

Should have opened two or more years ago. This bottle had browned and was turning. Consumable, but why would I?

Opened and poured. Initially thin, dry, acidic-sour, lacking complexity, fruit or tannin. 2nd day wine opened with soft, resolved tannins and blue-black fruitiness, green peppercorn. Likely best to consume remaining bottles within the year.

Bad bottle. Cork was intact, but wine had soured with a musty smell.

I’ve rated this lower due to having perhaps waited too long before opening this 2007 - or maybe it is just this bottle. Currant and blackberry, smoke and earthiness, tannins completely resolved, but it may be a bit over. Hopefully the two remaining have better results.

Funky herbal nose. Light salmon pink in color. Dry, round texture, citrusy grapefruit with a long finish. An “okay”, low price rose.

I finally opened one of these inexpensive Touraine Sauvignons purchased in 2016 that I had buried in the cellar ever since. It isn’t vinegar, its not undrinkable. Mineral and fruity; sweeter than I prefer; might make a base for a spritzer if we ever had occasion to do that.

I previously reviewed on 04/02/2021. Decanted and consumed with charcuterie. Lavender-purple in color. nose is lavender, cocoa powder, tobacco-y. Still tight tannins, firm and a bit astringent, opening gradually over a few hours. Dry, even firm, but balanced; didn’t come across as “big” as previous tasting. Cherry, tobacco to cigar, dusty leather, black pepper. Predict this will age well for up to a decade. Very good wine at this price.
