Really this is superb wine. Throw in the QPR on futures under 20 bucks and wow.

Not much of a wine in my opinion. Way to expensive for what you get. But maybe someone can identify with it. Mainly a qpr issue for me.

Interesting development over the past eight years. It's definitely not going to get better. As a single varietal it drinks well. Not going to knock anyone's socks off.

Surprisingly good Zinfandel for a fairly bad growing year.

Wonderful to the last drop. This is the only wine I ever liked from this winery. And this was the best year.

Going to hold my rating until we get into the drinking window in a year or two. This one was too early. I wanted to check it and it's tight. Drank over two days. Better on day 2 but I think let this one ride for a year or two.

Kudos to Castoro for bring this wine at a reasonable price and having it last like a champion wine for 10 years. Loved it.

This was a lot better than I was hoping for. It actually had texture and drank like a lighter style Bordeaux blend with uncharacteristic fruit

Still liking this one. It just has such an interesting texture and flare of fruit. I like it. Second day today and it is a little more subdued but hanging in there with vacu-vin.

Have to admit. Well made. Enjoyed the taste and it just typifies a Sonoma county blend wine. Very good. But you pay for it with this winery.

This was fruitier and less tannic than I expected. Last one of the vintage so I have no idea if this is an anomaly.

This bottle was corked. Having a bad night! This almost never happens. Wish I could upload the picture. Wine all the way to the foil. Too bad. It's weird because the other bottles have been so good and its stored in a 55 degree cellar. Dang.

Absolutely awful on every occasion I have had it. Not typical for duckhorn. But it's the reason I stopped buying it. Wondered what 10 years would do. Didn't help.

This was good but not quite great. Has a twang in the middle that I don't care for. But in fairness I popped and poured it over 2 hours. Second hour was way better than the first.

This one is very serviceable and interesting. I like the texture. It is really heavy wine and had that element of hitting it's peak and just sliding down the backside. ...

So I love stellenbosch cabs. But for what was an ehhhhh year, this is a really well made cab. It's just got the classic nose and texture. This one will go for years. I will have trouble keeping it but I should probably not touch it for another year and go one a year.

I was right. This one finally came together and reached out like a decent Syrah. Have to say that it's better than the average Bella wine.

I like this cab but I think it needs substantially more time in the bottle to come together. If you like the cigar and tobacco flavors of stellenbosch this isn't a bad option. But I think it's still too early.

I'm just going to drink all but the best 2011 of this. It isn't that interesting and definitely won't hold up over the years. I'll hold the vineyard select awhile but I'm guessing this is all gone before you know it.

Starting to think the thin 2011 vintage just stayed thin all over California. It isn't bad. It's good. But just doesn't have the longer finish I appreciate. Noting this on all Pinot and cabs too from that vintage. I'm staying away from now on.

Agree with the comment about 40 bucks being too high and it being about value for a 28 dollar Pinot. Well made but simpler than others in the price range. Still an interesting wine with a lot of typical central coast fruit.
