Amazing wine but opened too early to get the best experience from it. Phenomenal structure.

Beautiful PN. One of the best, if not the best, from the region

Beautiful expression of PN from the Sonoma Coast. I look forward to trying their single vineyard wines.

It was okay but overhyped. Not worth £80+ IMHO. Quite a modern style of Hermitage which tasted more like Cru Beaujolais.

A really lovely SB. Smell and taste too quickly and you may mistake this for Chardonnay. Beautiful mouth feel, excellent structure, great length. Always find Lismore to produce exceptional wines. It’s rare for me to enjoy SB but this is something else. Think peaches and cream and toffee apple.

Okay but nothing special for the price paid. Attractive nose but weak flavour profile and limited length. Expected more.

A wonderful introduction to the Mascarello family wines. Translucent brick red. Rose petal, violet, strawberry and cherry notes on the nose. Surprisingly soft and elegant and well balanced at 15%. A pretty and delicious Nebbiolo from the Langhe.

It was okay but not as good as Daniel Landi’s introductory offering.

A very good Bourgogne from the legendary Benjamin Leroux. Light but with enough density, balanced acidity and fresh red fruit aromatics with a hint of sweet spice.

Drinking well now but will continue to develop. Honey, toffee apple, orchard fruit and pebbles. Chiselled acidity, good grip and great length. Nice find.

P&P - Comte Armand’s Pommard 1er Cru Clos des Epeneaux continued to evolve throughout its duration before eventually revealing a glorious array of sweet red fruit and sous bois aromatics intertwined with well integrated oak and a low key menthol note. Refined and elegant and superbly balanced. Showing well now but will continue to develop.

Disgorged March 2019. Beautifully crafted revealing concentrated aromas of lemon sherbet, white flowers and crushed rocks, all of which carry through from the mid palate to the finish in oscillating bursts of flavour. Very long.

This thoroughly exceeded my expectations. Translucent ruby red with a slight haze. A stunning nose brimming with crushed rocks, bright cherry and raspberry notes and a touch of cinnamon. Superbly balanced, elegant, just the right amount of grip and great length. Delicious.

Slightly limp on the nose with a hint of oxidation. Elegant palate with well integrated tannins and reasonable length. Typical Nebbiolo flavours. Time to drink up.

Some slight seepage on this bottle. Not as enthralled by it as I expected but still a great wine. Harmoniously balanced with a hint of spritz. Petrol, rubber, lime, peach, sherbet, minerality. Well balanced but lacked some length.

Typical Viña Tondonia. Smells just like the Haro cellar itself. Like an old leather belt before the pretty dried fruit hits the palate. Beautifully elegant.

Stunning wine. Superb balance. Great concentration. Much better than the 2017.Couldn’t believe this was 14.5% ABV.

It was a great Pinot but it didn't blow my socks off. It lacked the elegance and oompf of Pinot from elsewhere in the country like Hemel-en-Aarde.

Lovely wine just coming into its window but lacked a bit of depth on the mid palate, likely due to a tough growing season.

It was a great Chardonnay with lovely citrus and stone fruits but it just didn't blow me away for the price point.

This is a big Californian Pinot. Sadly, I opened this too early. It has years ahead. Very dark and powerful. The individual components have yet to fall into place. Very fine tannins but still plenty of grip. Black cherry and ripe raspberry dominate the nose. I can appreciate the effort that has gone into making this wine, but this is too bold for me.

Phenomenal Chardonnay. Jasmine, cox apple, lemon pith, baking spice, well integrated oak, powerful but elegant. Classical and timeless.

Simply stunning. Pristine fruit. Well concentrated with good depth. Wild strawberry, rose petal and smoke. One of the best from Hemel-en-Aarde Valley.

Wild strawberry with earthy undertones. Some notes of pencil shavings and coffee grounds but well integrated with the fruit. Very good, well balanced, moderate length.
