Nose is big stonefruit and a little brett/funk that blows off. Tons more stonefruit up front, green apple, big acid. A bit too much of the peach fuzz yeasty thing that natty white wines sometimes get. I _loved_ the 21 Rouge but maybe I just like his reds more than whites?

just excellent, wine of the night for me. perfectly balanced now but years and years ahead

Brett on the nose has me worried but it settles down after a few minutes of being open. Some capsicum but integrated, lovely fruit still. Tannins are still very present, softened a bit but you still feel them. Still drinks incredibly young, only hint of age is the rust color on the edges. Served to some friends blind and the oldest anybody guessed was 2012.

Fair amount of RS but good acidity to balance. Best wine I've tried from this producer but not worth seeking out imo

Beautiful. Still has years to go. Ripe fruit but great acidity to balance.

Lemon, a tiny bit of oxidative character (most ouille Savagnin still have this in my experience). Good acidity. Not bad, not great.

Nose is muted but there’s cherries. Good acid, big ripe red fruit, a little too much RS and a slight cheese note on the finish. Thankfully only a half bottle!

Nose is all bright tart red fruit, cherry raspberry strawberry bombastic. Body is more of the same but has a chalky tannin on the finish to keep it from being too ripe or acidic. Still pretty tart, maybe a bit of VA? Not sure if “subtle” is the name i would have chosen but go off king. Pretty good!

Still great. Felt a bit more thin than previous bottles but the savoriness was still really great with Brazilian food.

If you are ok with 14% Pinot you may love this. It’s got some depth. But I am not ok with 14% Pinot so it’s a hard pass for me.

It’s fine? Lighter body, not too boozy, just a little plain.

Less oak on the nose here compared to Echoes. Tighter, more mineral and acid driven but the lemon curd is still there to play. Pretty excellent.

A little oak on the nose but it’s restrained, lemon and peach too, a little aldehyde. Fuck this is good. Nice acid, lovely creamy lemon curd and some lacy minerality on the end.

Cork had white mold on top but the wine was flawless. Depth, savor, a kiss of oak but totally integrated. Just delicious.

Light as a feather but so much depth. Great acidity, zippy and alive. Wish I had more.

One of those ill-advised bottle opens when you've already had too much to drink. No real notes, just a little regret that I wasn't picking up any subtlety at this point. Drinking really well, but probably not worth the $$$? Again hard to tell bc drunk

Really horrible nose, yeasty as hell and not much else. Once you get past the nose it's pretty lovely, savory fruit, tea, great minerality. There's acidity but it's definitely mild, this is all about the tertiary stuff that's starting to happen. Not sure if the nose just means it was an off bottle, but I won't be rolling the dice again on secondary market purchases of older bottles of this. At least not at the $$$$ prices they're going for.

Just wonderful. Very rich and ripe as you'd expect from a 2018, but still with beautiful tension and minerality to keep it from getting flabby.

Herbs and tobacco and dark berries on the nose. Cherry cranberry fruit up front with a real savory bitterness (tea and quinine) on the finish. Pretty nice, but not going out to buy more and age.

Pear apple nose. Ripe and round up front, but the acidity almost immediately whips in and cuts down to a super dry minerally finish. Some red fruit on the palate in addition to more apple and pear, is this a mix or a BdN? (editor's note: 80% PN, 20% PB)

Deeeeep ruby color. Savory nose, herbs and cranberries. Fuck yes, savory continues through, cranberry raspberry, a little burlap sack and hay, very mineral on the finish. Acid is in balance. Beautiful example of an aged rose.

Just a delight. Bright candied citrus and white flowers, unmistakable riesling character...but then the body is light as a feather and there's a lovely savory note in the finish (maybe that's the Sylvaner parentage influence?). Really great acidity, not overpowering but vibrant and electric.

Nose is a little musty, thought it might be corked when opened. Very honeyed, jammy berries, surprising amount of RS, a bit of chalky tannin on the backend. I wish for more acid, there’s only a little bit. Not as great as I hoped. Still think it may be a little corked. Or just over the hill?

A little animale on the nose, berries too. Juice! Super ripe blueberry boysenberry, good acid, surprising amount of chalky tannin. Tasty but at 135aud retail, not a repurchase

Absolutely delicious. One of those wines I meant to drink young and then was worried that it'd be over the hill so I kept putting it off.....and it was delicious. Super textural, almost Rhone white-y, some of the gewurz aromatics but not super perfumey, just some apricot and flowers.

Purple with a sort of fruit by the foot vibe. Maybe a little nail polish too but just a splash. Super purple on the palate. Med acid (hot year 👎). It’s fine but don’t think this is getting any better (updated my drink-by to 2026)

Up there in my ranking for all time desert island wine. What would life even be like without this nectar of the gods? Bright tart cherry cranberry fruit, great acid and minerality, depth and a bit of savory thing going on. Damn near perfect

delicious classic lemon cream. Good acid, not too much dosage. I’d love some more minerality but there’s a lil and it’s nice

Nose is graphite, venison, brambly berries. The graphite thing carries through, fruit is very purple berry jam, nice acidity and a little tiny bit of grip on the finish. No funk aside from the reduction which sadly seems to be a real pattern with 2021s from greater Burgundy. Third one this week, I’m on a roll.

Pear and white flower on the muted nose. Palate is pears in syrup, candied lemon peel. A little too much alcohol. But good acid. Not particularly noteworthy but tasty enough.

Really nice! Juicy crunchy bright red fruit, plum and cherry and strawberry. 13.5% on the label but doesn't feel heavy at all. Tannins are still very present...interesting to see how this continues to evolve.

I love this wine. Strawberry cherry nose, more of the same on the palate. Great acid, chalky tannin (I bet this will age beautifully). There’s a little herbal thing happening too. So good.

Damn why are all the 21 Bourgogne rouges so reductive. This has a way more savory plum thing going on (comparing with Lavallee Ma Pierre) but still pretttttty flinty. I really wish I knew if this was gonna age out, I love this fruit and the acid is perfect. Gonna sit on my other bottle for a few years

The nose is already way less tropical than the 2020. Flinty reduction, violets, berries. More reduction on the palate, not eggy but you only get a second with the fruit before the reduction takes over and it’s just graphite town. Tasty but I can’t tell if it’s the sort of reduction that will age out (or at least integrate more) so I don’t plan on buying any more.
