Brightly garnet coloured, with still ruby hints, this Corton Bressandes shows it’s viscosity in the glass, displaying complexity on the nose.
Raspberries coulis, crushed redcurrants, stewed strawberries, classic forest floor, wet leaves, damp earth, a touch of licorice, orange potpourri, roasted cocoa, leather, baking spices, nutmeg, moss, and noble wood.
Luscious full bodied, high acidity, silky ample tannins, still powerful, great concentration without being too heavy or too boldly structured.
Elegant palate, poised but with masculine strenght, quite austere, again pure little red fruits, berries, cocoa, sweet spices and a very pleasant earthiness. Orange peel finish. Typical great minerality from the terroir. Very long palate.
Quite open and seamless drinkability after 8 years, but this will develop and improve for many years easily reaching its 15th birthday.
Drink from 2023-2033.

Gorgeously matured Grand Puy Lacoste, intoxicating aromas of classic aged Pauillac, still dark fruited, creme de cassis, pencil shavings, cigar box, old leather, roasted coffee, forest floor, wet leaves, dried mushrooms, wet earth, old cellar, a touch of talc and asian spices, soy sauce.
Ample palate, balanced, still fruity, nice freshness, coating tannins, beautiful medium bodied, complex, mocha, dried herbs, spices and earthy. Very impressive for a 40 years wine.
Wonderfully mature and very elegant, yet such powerful and complex.
Structured enough to keep for more years if well stored, drink now.

Elegant, classy Vouvray from Le Mont vineyard, viscous, light straw.
Complex, bruised apples, nectarines, preserved lemons, sour cream, tarragon, beeswax, honeysuckle flowers and fine chalky minerals.
Medium bodied, dry, excellent acidity that meets the creaminess, along honey, citrus, still apples and grapefruit. Precise salty finish with good lenght and concentration. Very integrated 13% alcohol.
Beautiful now, but better after 2025-2027.
100% Chenin Blanc.

Bright ruby with garnet hints, quite rich, ripe fruited, roasted plums, ripe blueberries, baking spices, toasty oak, graphite, damp earth.
Medium to full bodied, quite young, palate is smooth, offering good minerality, nice freshness against the ripeness, quite integrated alcohol (14%) with dark and red fruits, sweet spices, oak and licorice. Reasonable lenght. Quite chalky tannins.
Not a star but nice value for the price.
Drink from 2023-2028.
85% Merlot 15% Cabernet Franc.

Deep and brilliant ruby with magenta hints, nose is quite rustic yet with a finesse, crushed blueberries, macerated strawberries, charred bell pepper, burnt tobacco, cola, pine cones and a minty, leafy accent.
Medium bodied, energetic, quite ready, palate is juicy, with racy acidity, high minerality, integrated alcohol (13.5%), simply blue and red fruits among the peppery and earthy finish. Silky medium tannins.
Distinctive style, a producer to watch in the Loire Valley.
Drink from 2025-2030.

Popped and poured.
Very deep ruby with purplish hints, limpid, quite inky and concentrated, viscous.
Very nice ripe fruit, good complexity, oaky, quite elegant and fresh on the nose.
Crushed vignola cherries, ripe plums, cassis, blueberry compote, bay leaf, dried violets, cedarwood, incense, burnt cigar, molasses, licorice, damp earth, baking spices, thyme.
The wine has a nice freshness, medium high acidity, and a classy minerality.
Full bodied and gorgeously concentrated, with aromas of ripe cherries, blueberries, cocoa, licorice, tabacco, herbs..
The wine is quite balanced, with powerful fine grained tannins, and an overall big structure without being excessive or losing freshness.
The alcohol is relatively standard for Tuscany (14%) but is a little present at the moment.
Campanaio '20 is a solid and classy Bordeaux blend which is very smooth and drinkable right now, but will surely benefit from 2/3 years or more of cellaring to fully bloom.
Great quality/price ratio. Wine made of 50% Merlot and 50% Cab. Sauvignon, aged 15 months in 50% new Allier barriques.

Popped and poured.
Deep purple, very concentrated and inky, nice viscosity and quite slow legs.
The nose is elegant, creamy, dark fruited, smoky, oaky, complex and very St. Julien.
Cassis, crushed blueberries, blackberries, muscovado sugar, burnt tobacco, graphite, boiserie, dark chocolate pralines, moss, peppermint, scorched earth, charred pepper, candied violets.
Mouthwatering acidity, typical minerality that integrates with the structure and impressive concentration.
The wine is dense, beautifully refined and with a medium body. (13,5%)
Very pure dark fruits, graphite, tobacco, earthy and minty long finish.
The tannins are big but already very fine grained and integrated.
This Langoa is already drinking so good and beautiful in its infancy, with a graceful balance, but will need for sure time to express its potential, integrate oak and soften the tannins.
Give it 3 to 5 years at least or keep it in your cellar for decades.
The wine is made of 53.5% Cab. Sauvignon, 38% Merlot and 8,5% Cab. Franc, which is aged for 16/18 months in 60% new oak barrels.

Opened and let it breathe in the bottle.
Transparent light ruby, garnet hints, viscous and slow legs.
Very elegant noble nose, burgundian, great purity of fruit, ethereal, mineral, complex.
Sour cherries, red currants, dried raspberries, burnt tobacco, forest floor, scorched earth, pollen, dried hibiscus, candied orange, licorice root, hay, graphite.
The wine has beautiful acidity, high minerality, very silky and noble tannins, medium bodied.
Very deep and concentrated but without weight or any heaviness (13.5%).
Small red fruits, forest floor, orange peel, tobacco, earth, salty finish.
The mouthfeel is really delicate and yet powerful, almost resembling an high end Barbaresco or a Cote de Nuits.
Ready for drinking and really long on the palate, beautifully balanced, will develop for at least a decade from now.
The wine is made from 100% Chiavennasca (Nebbiolo), with 72 months total aging between big oak barrels, concrete and bottle.

The wine is full bodied, with medium high acidity and a cool minerality.
Beautifully powerful yet silky tannins, followed by ripe black and red fruits, tobacco, vanilla, baking spices, oak.
Very velvety and chewy, with massive concentration and a "big style" (15%).
Very good lenght and drinking nicely in this primary stage.
Probably won't reach its peak until 5/7 years from now, but will keep gracefully for decades with its structure.
Very nice modern Saint Emilion.

Popped and poured during some hours.
Deep dark ruby, quite opaque and with quite slow legs.
Nose is open, cassis, blackberries, roasted plums, cocoa, incense, tobacco, laurel leaves, graphite, bell pepper, cedarwood, espresso.
Quite on the elegant side, smoky, but with nice fruit despite being a little "green".
The palate is medium bodied, with medium high acidity and a nice freshness throughout.
Tannins are polished but vibrant, red and black fruits, licorice, tobacco, earth, smoke.
The wine is quite balanced now, it's pleasurable to drink despite not having a crazy complexity.
Surely young, i will maybe wait 3/5 years to develop further complexity but no need to wait longer for this.
A nice Medoc, with a classic '17 style, elegant and masculine.
The wine is made from 60% Merlot, 37% Cabernet Sav., 3% Cabernet Franc and aged in 30% new oak.

Almost popped and poured, perfect into neck level, nice cork, '87 Barton.
Beautifully deep garnet coloured, with just slightly bricked rim. Good viscosity and quite slow legs.
The nose is elegant, typical, brightly Cabernet based, wet moss, macerated cherries, dried blackcurrants, crème de cassis, damp earth, cigar box, old school graphite, burnt wood, old leather.
Complexity is there, maybe a little green, charred bell pepper, cloves, dead leaves. The palate is medium bodied and still nicely structured, with almost resolved tannins, a refreshing acidity and a salty minerality.
Is like drinking liquid silk, altough not very deep, the wine still has some black fruits left, along with a nice taste of tobacco, espresso, and baking spices. Very earthy, the finish is quite long.
This is a very elegant, herbacious, light footed aged claret, which for me shows a great effort from Leoville Barton to make a top wine in a weak vintage.
Surely at apex since many years, but not at all down the hill or dead, indeed pretty alive, i believe you can wait up to 5 years or so if you like, and if the bottle is well stored.
Great as always classic St. Julien.

Deep straw yellow, golden hints. Quite viscous and oily texture.
On the nose the wine is open, quite elegant, with ripe pears, granny apples, preserved pineapple, lemon zest, ginger, along with white pepper, sage, sour cream, brie cheese, salted caramel and toasted almonds.
Bright acidity and nice minerality on the palate, with again granny apple, citrus fruits, almond cream, white flowers.
There's a good creaminess and a nice yet simple structure, the alcohol and the oak are very balanced (13%).
Mouthwatering and quite short simple finish, slightly oily and delicate.
I believe this wine has a really good q/pr ratio and surely has potential.
After 11 years is now at its peak i suppose, but no rush due to its acidity and structure, you can keep it for 5/7 more years if you like more mature Burgundy Chardonnays.

Opened the night prior drinking.
Level was quite low for a '01, the cork was completely soggy, probably seeping due to bad cellaring.
Nevertheless the wine was okay, deep dark garnet, bricking rim, viscous and with slow legs.
Elegant complex nose, crème de cassis, dried prunes, macerated black cherries, espresso, cigar box, old leather, burnt cinnamon, lead pencil, forest floor, dried mushrooms, vanilla, dried rosemary and rose petals..
Mouthwise the wine has a medium body, medium acidity and medium plus minerality, resolved tannins, very nice concentrated.
There's still some black and red fruits, roasted cocoa, burnt tobacco, black pepper, dried herbs, forest floor, very well rounded and bordeaux-ish.
The wine is really silky and smooth, with a nice structure yet and a wonderful finish.
Alcohol is very well integrated and so the oak.
Overall a very nice experience but i believe this particular bottle had already passed its peak, due to seepage and storing problems.
I think a well stored '01 Tignanello would have been much less developed after 22 years, so if you have a good bottle probably you can wait 3/5 years from now, this particular bottle was a little tired, could easily be a 94 instead of 92.

Diam cork, assemblage of various vineyards around Riquewihr (clay/limestone soils), 14.4 g/l residual sugars.
Light straw yellow, greenish hints, with quite slow legs and nice viscosity.
Quite elegant and fine nose, not overly ripe, aromas of ripe nectarines, cantaloupes, mango, litchees, elderflowers, peach flowers, pink peppercorn, cream, vanilla bean, honey, caramelized almonds, wet rocks, some minerals. Nice fruity attack on mouth, very tropical, litchees, honey, medium acidity, good creaminess, a fine freshness that supports the body and the residual sugars.
The wine has a good structure, medium bodied, with integrated alcohol (13,5). There's a very pleasurable minerality that leads you to the next sip, even if the wine finishes quite short, the mouthfeel is very smooth and delicate.
Overall a balanced, simple, entry-level Gewurztraminer from a great maison, with no excesses of high sugar or flatness.
Drink now or hold for 3 to 5 years maximum in my opinion.

Typical very light transparent pinkish ruby, garnet hints, low viscosity.
The nose is very elegant yet distinctive, red currants, wild strawberries, kirsch, underbrush, tobacco leaves, wet soil, licorice root, candied orange peel, dried hibiscus, dried mushrooms, violets. Better after some air.
On the palate this Trousseau has a great acidity, supported by a nice typical minerality and despite being light bodied it has a good concentration.
Very fine and resolved tannins, juicy, red berries, licorice, scorched earth, quite savoury finish, with a nice finish and a very smooth mouthfeel.
I believe this wine has reached its peak and is quite complex at the moment, but probably due to its structure and acidity i will have no rush in consuming this, so drink now or hold for another 2/3 years from now, maybe more if you like well developed Jura's.
Solid value producer from Arbois.

Very bright gorgeous magenta colour, with quite slow legs and good viscosity.
Nose is typical, yet i found a pronounced barnyard and funky/brett note that softened with some air, probably related to the "triple A" and natural approach of this winemaker.
Fermented cranberries, macerated strawberries, ripe sour cherries, moss, oak, barnyard, forest floor, roasted cocoa, allspice, leather, dried mushrooms, rose petals.
The wine has good acidity and nice minerality, it has a great concentration and is quite dense and powerful, with silky big tannins.
Red fruits, cocoa, earth, baking spices and tobaccoey, leathery finish.
Nice structure and medium to full body, with a seamless and quite long finish. The mouth anyway showcases the heat of the vintage, and reflects its alcohol (14,5%) which is pretty unusual for a Pinot from Burgundy.
It's a nice silky and quite balanced Bourgogne, totally approachable right now but a little atypical and quite too "big" and rustic in style rather than elegant and classy, reasonably due to the vintage..
Maybe give it 2/3 more years to fully integrate the oak but i will not wait longer than 5 years opening this. Drink now with a good decant.

Pop and pour.
Pale straw, with greenish hints throughout, good viscosity.
The nose is quite elegant, lemon peel, white peach, grapefruit, granny smith apple, sage, caramel, butter, slightly vanilla bean, jasmine flowers, fresh almonds and flint. Very beautiful for a regional appellation.
The mouthfeel is characterized by a racy acidity and a very mouthwatering minerality, while the body is medium the wine has a nice concentration and structure.
Citrus and yellow-pulped fruits, green apple, marzipan, a little smoky on the palate. Alcohol is very well integrated (13%).
There's a nice balance between creaminess and acidity, with a quite long finish, it's a balanced and smooth wine with some air and drinked at the right temperature.
I can feel that some grapes that goes into this are coming from exceptional terroirs like Meursault and Puligny..
Drink now if you like young Burgundy whites, but i think this deserves 3 to 5 years at least to fully integrate and to show its complexity.
This will drink well for at least a decade.

The nose is elegant, classic, still with some fruits, cassis, plums, blueberry juice, followed by typical sandalwood, cedar, cigar box, old leather, espresso, forest floor, charred bell pepper, green peppercorn, a touch of herbs.
Mouthwise the wine has a lively acidity, with a good minerality, quite good concentration and silky almost resolved tannins. Medium bodied.
Plums and cassis coming back also on tasting, along with earth, cocoa, bell pepper, a little green.
It’s delicate yet with a slightly masculinity and greenness.

Opened the night before. Biologic.
Beautiful quite transparent ruby red, glossy and with slow legs.
The nose is already very elegant and classy, displaying a great purity of fruit, sour cherries, crushed raspberries, redcurrants, strawberry purèe.
Very burgundian nose, but more mediterranean, spicy, damp earth, forest floor, bay leaf, rosemary, eucalyptus, orange zest, aniseed, cocoa beans, rose petals, green cardamom.
Lively acidity and underlying minerality, great smoothness on the palate, with a medium to full body and silky yet powerful tannins.
Alcohol is 14% and very well integrated.
Nice concentration, lots of little red fruits, cocoa, earthiness, spices..
Great lenght for being a "Rosso", but this is probably "The Rosso".
Very nice depth and drinking beautifully now, it will get better over 3 to 5 years and be fabulous for far more than a decade.

The wine is deep ruby coloured, with still purple hints, has a good viscosity and quite slow legs. The nose is fresh, elegant, almost "left bank" due to the little percentage of Cab. Sauvignon in the blend, that is pretty evident.
Cassis purée, blackberries, elderberries, bay leaf, scorched earth, humus, espresso, hibiscus, graphite, chocolate sauce, gingerbread, dried mushrooms..
Great acidity, racy attack, medium bodied and classical great St. Emilion minerality. The moutfeel is packed with black fruits, chocolate, tobacco, with a minty freshness throughout. Good lenght, silky present tannins.
This wine is very delicate and smooth right now, after a good amount of air. I believe this needs 3 to 5 more years tu fully bloom.

Palate is concentrated, with a medium accidity, a savoury note, full of dark fruits, sweet spices, tobacco and scorched earth.
Good structure, powdery tannins, well rounded yet showing a little heat on alcohol. Very smooth and rounded indeed. Good lenght.
This is at 25/30 € a very good value and a nice tuscan espression of a Bordeaux blend, in the signature style of Trinoro.

Colour is translucent ruby red with a garnet rim, good viscosity showing its structure.
Quite austere nose at the beginning with blueberries compote, sour cherries, raspberries, baking spices, dried apricots, violets.
Developing in the glass, maple syroup, licorice, damp earth, roasted coffee, tar, blood orange. Complex and pure.
On the palate has a great concentration, blue and red fruits, orange peel, cinnamon, with a medium acidity, a nice minerality and some initially massive tannins that gained more smoothness with some time.
Full bodied and long finish, this Castiglione has an overall silky mouthfeel and is very lush on the palate.
I think this is starting to enter in its drinking window, considering '17 to be a very dry and hot year in Langhe.
Beautifully crafted "entry level" Barolo, i would suggest a decant before tasting, and i think this will drink beautifully for a decade from now.

Opened and drunk during 6/7 hours.
The colour is typically aged Pomerol, deep garnet with almost black centre and lighter rim.
On the nose the wine is clearly very elegant due to the vintage, evolved, crème de cassis, stewed strawberries, dried leaves, damp earth, nice aromas of beautifully aged Merlot, incense, cigar box, tomato leaf, black truffle, mint, candied violet, dried porcini mushrooms.
The palate is quite concentrated, with good acidity and a medium bodied structure, tannins are quite resolved and caressing.
Mouthfeel is very savoury, soft, still quite fruity, almost as cassis juice, fresh and elegant. Good seamless lenght, really nice drinking and classic.
I think that at 25 years of age this Clos l'Eglise shows it's peak of maturity.
Reasonably due to the harsh vintage i do not see any significant improvement from here in some years, but i think the wine's structure will keep it alive and pleasurable for 3 to 5 more years from now, until the decline.
Perfect if you like a soft, classic and elegant aged claret.

Mostly dark fruited, black plums, blueberries, ripe cherries, a nice smokiness, black peppercorn, scorched earth, black olives, vanilla bean, wet rocks.
On the palate this CdR is full bodied, with medium acidity and nice minerality.
The wine has a fruity, peppery, oaky mouthfeel, with grainy integrated tannins and showing quite good balance and smoothness, with a medium lenght finish.
Alcohol is listed at 15% but unexpectedly is quite integrated and not too overwhelming.

Beautiful transparent ruby colour with garnet hints troughout.
Nose is beautiful but at first quite austere and very elegant, in some minutes it displays its complexity, crushed raspberries, sour cherry, red currants, licorice root, wet soil, scorched earth, dried mushrooms, tobacco leaves, white pepper, very floral and smoky at the same time, tar, rose petals, orange zest, vanilla bean, black tea leaves.
The palate has a good concentration, nice structure, medium to full bodied, with a nice acidity, lingering saltiness and a meaty character.
Tannins are quite powerful, silky and noble.
The wine is very balanced and smooth, yet masculine and austere.
The finish is long, red fruited, minty, earthy.
Considerably more open, seamless and pleasurable after more hours in the bottle.

Beautiful purple coloured, with an almost black centre, glossy and viscous.
Nose is very pronounced and elegant with mouthwatering creme de cassis, blueberries, elderberries, crushed black plums.
Scorched earth, tobacco leaves, burnt oak, cinnamon sticks, violet petals, dark chocolate brownie, juniper berries, licorice root, graphite, grilled bell pepper showing with some air.

Elegant, complex textbook Gevrey's nose.
Sour cherry, redcurrants, raspberries, pomegranate, blood orange flesh and zest.
Developing in the glass with iron, wet moss, barnyard, forest floor, Jamaican pepper, milck chocolate, nutmeg, cinnamon sticks, violets.
The palate is lively, good concentration, good structure and racy acidity, lots of savouriness and freshness.
Tannins are punchy yet silky and sweet.
Noble rounded mouthfeel, classic, complex palate, fruity, oaky, well rounded and quite masculine.
Great lenght being at a Village level, could be even a 1er Cru at blind.
Overall a great Gevrey, quite racy and powerful now, without losing elegance, but give it 3 to 5 years to fully come together.
Hold for 10/15 years.
14% with any heat.

Tasted at "Osteria San Guido" in Bolgheri.
Intense ruby red, glossy and almost translucent.
Very complex, elegant, almost Bordeaux nose, displaying pure cassis, Vignola cherries, black plums, crushed strawberries, roasted bell pepper, humus, licorice, precious wood.
Getting more complex with 20/30 minutes in the glass with sweet tobacco leaves, cocoa, fennel seeds, anise, sage, humus, violets, wet rocks..
Exceptional nose, even if quite austere and closed at the moment.
The structure is incredible, huge and concentrated while caressing and elegant.
Full bodied, with powerful acidity, great typical minerality and silky polished integrated tannins.
Fruity mouthfeel, licorice, black tea, earthy, spicy, already a pleasure to drink in its early life. Impressive lenght.
Keep the wine at least another 5 to 10 years to fully bloom, and hold it for 20/30 years from now.
Sumptuous expression of Bolgheri terroir, without being too concentrated or alcoholic, with its deepness and its unique elegant, austere, Bordeaux's character.
Great vintage. 14%.

Opened night before.
Deep ruby, impenetrable. Glossy, viscous.
Intense, gorgeous complex and elegant nose already.
Blackberry, elderberry, cassis, sour cherry, purely packed with fruits.
The nose is so deeply nuanced and showing it’s Margaux character.
Gingerbread, violets, geranium, rose petals, incense, anise seeds, green peppercorn, dark chocolate, leather, pencil lead, cinnamon, coriander.
Very spicy and flowery.
The palate has an impressive concentration, a great fine structure, elegant.
Seamless acidity, quite present, minerality, succulent dark fruits, spicy, so fresh and succulent with integrated noble oak.
Very drinkable and silky, rich and velvety tannins.
Roundness and class on the finish, which is impressively long and clean.
Already quite open, give it another few years to fully bloom, maybe 3 or 5 should go.
The apex should be reached around 2035/40, but you will drink this for a lifetime.
Noble and classy Margaux, with still a fair price tag.
I think it can get better and better.

Popped and poured.
Quite closed and shy out of the bottle.
Luminous ruby, very nice texture and quite viscous.
Dark fruits, cassis, strawberry coulis, plums, blueberries, great purity of fruit.
Nose is gaining complexity with time in the glass, violets, hibiscus, roasted cocoa, coffee bean, sweet spices, mushrooms, vanilla bean, roasted pepper, tobacco leaves. Elegant nose.
Great mouthfeel, round and smooth, so fruity and tart, juicy.
The structure is there, tannins are plenty but polished.
The wine is fresh, without noticeable heat (14%) and with a nice depth despite its obvious youthness.
Classy and noble expression of Bolgheri terroir, the wine is enjoyable but still a bit closed, i recommend decanting or opening some hours before.
Reasonably much more complex and ready in 3/4 years, it will show probably its best after 10 years considering its balance at the moment.
Hold.

Popped and poured.
Gorgeous and viscous ruby red with lighter, garnet rims.
Amazingly complex, elegant, fine nose, sour cherry, crushed raspberry, red currants, blood orange, dried rose petals, anise, dried dill, sage.
Very layered, forest floor, cuban cigars, incense, sandalwood, fine oak, milk chocolate..
Burgundian, almost Gevrey’ like..
Palate is so juicy, fresh and acidity’s very high, (not overwhelming) great minerality and really fruity.
So delicate yet structured and explosive. Medium to full bodied.
Layers of red little berries, fine integrated oak, delicate spiciness, dill, orange zest. Very fine tannins.
Very nice structured and balanced, seamless, harmonious.
Already a great experience after 12 years from the harvest, and spending 6 years in oak.
It will benefit from at least 5 to 10 years of more aging in bottle, but totally beautiful and appealing now.
13%.
A gem of Rioja, a great Q/P, elegance and muscles, it deserves its reputation. Probably not a wine for everyone.

Popped and poured after 5 hours.
Deep purple red, almost black, thick and concentrated juice.
Nose still a little closed and austere, black plums, figs, cassis, blueberries, vignola cherries, very ripe and black but not jammy.
Sweet spices, cardamom, cocoa nibs, black pepper, oak, tobacco, soy sauce, charcuterie, graphite as long as the wine takes oxygen.
Mint, and a tangy green pepper note. Very complex.
Palate is so concentrated and fruity, full bodied, pure lush berries, chocolate, oak, licorice, vanilla beans, silky tannins, good minerality, great acidity that coats your mouth.
So powerful yet elegant and so accesible right now.
Crazy stuff for the price, (60 CHF) for sure a great example of a tuscan top notch wine.
No problem for this wine to go trough decades, with its structure, now in a early primary phase, but leave it for some years and you won’t regret.
I expect its peak in probably 10 years.
At 15% it showcases the classic power of the tuscan wines and the ‘18 climate, but without being too alcoholic or heavy, yet fresh.

Opened and consumed over 2 days.
Deep ruby with purplish tones.
The nose is fresh and typical, showing the character of Syrah from Crozes Hermitage.
Black fruit like blueberries, but also some raspberries and slightly strawberry.
With oxygen it develops a nice complexity for its level.
Leathery, mushrooms, tobacco, some saltiness of a cured meat, like some smoked pork.
Some peppery, spicy parfume also, green peppercorn.
Chocolate. Iron.
Palate is fresh, mineral, fruity and medium bodied.
Not so complex but yet direct and precise on the fruit.
Nice acidity and pretty present tannins.
Good lenght of the finish that is really fresh and slightly bitter.
Good to drink now, but for sure it will develop a nicer complexity with 2/3 years and will be better after maybe 5 or 6, probably 10 to reach its apex.
So good quality/price.

Popped and poured.
Exquisite dark purple colour, showing a very youthful wine in spite of its 6 years.
Nose is so elegant and pure, concentrated.
So fruity with a lot of fresh blackberry, blueberry, mulberry, cassis.
Really showing already complexity, sichuan pepper, smoke, bacon fat, anise, lavander flowers and violets.
Tapenade of black olives, oregano, cocoa, granite and stoney character.
Mouthfeel is so concentrated and velvety with a stunning acidity and salty minerality.
So fruit driven, with developing aromas of tobacco, black pepper, coffee.. All joined with the pure black fresh fruits.
Tannins are so chewy yet refined and not overpowering.
The structure is so great and it will give this wine a long life ahead.
Palate is so fresh and seamless, despite its 14% that are quite not noticeable.
Great example of a top Cornas’ producer.
So young after 6 years, but already so nice to drink and pleasurable. So wonderful nose.
It will last for decades, i would say at least 2.

Opened the night before and then double decanted.
For me this wine has impressive quality and elegance, despite the 2013 year was quite a mess in Bordeaux.
The colour is a beautiful ruby red color with no bricking at rim at all.
It really reminds me of a Pinot from Burgundy, and even by putting it under the nose.
Sous-bois, cassis, blueberry, red currant, wet leaves, capsicum, bay leaf, mushrooms, leather, coffee bean and bitter cocoa, good minerality and graphite finish. Complex.
Elaegance and subtlelty on the nose, almost burgundian.
Good concentration on the palate, considering the vintage, the palate is very juicy and racy.
Tannins are beautifully integrated.
Not very concentrated or powerful yet austere and silky.
Classic Pauillac mouthfeel with its distinctive bitterness, sweet spices..
13% and i would say this is velvety and drinkable Bordeaux right now.
After almost 10 years the wine is for sure ready and pleasurable to drink, but i think it may will develop further complexity, even if it will not be for sure a banger, it will retain its charming and elegant character for many years, tannins are still there, acidity is high.
Maybe there’s a green, leafy and herbal note that comes over, but not overwhelming the balance.
Great effort and result, for a great and alluring Cabernet Sauvignon.

Holed wax capsule and slightly leaking cork.
Wine has no problems indeed.
The nose is impresssive especially for the intensity and power, you can smell the perfume of the wine 10 cm far from the glass.
There’s a purity of bright and tart small red fruits, raspberries, red currant, rhubarb, sour black cherry, fraise de bois..
Amazingly complex with hints of licorice, cola, leather, roasted cocoa, wet autumnal leaves, forest floor, cola, vanilla beans, iron and a nice spicy finish, like cinnamon or cloves, very powerful but also very elegant and noble.
The palate is so concentrated yet a liquid silk.
Fruit forward, with a tangy sourness and a nice minerality that makes the wine a really delicacy.
Tannins are like a velvet, yet present and allowing the wine to have a nice structure and a quite full body.
No harshness, seamless.
The finish is long and goes on for at least a minute.
Very impressive village Gevrey, with all the things in the right place at the moment.
Impeccable winemaker, really pure and masculine yet classy style.
Will improve, develop more tertiary notes and be a pleasure for some decades.
13% with no heat or any alcoholic sensation at the palate, nor at the nose.
Power and elegance, in the perfect Gevrey style.

Opened 5 hours before.
Colour that does not show the wine's age, really beautiful ruby crimson red, with a little bricking rim.
The nose is spectacularly aged Bordeaux.
Really fruity, blueberries, semi dried prunes, crème de cassis, cherry.
At first quite austere but with air it gains noble aromas of rose petals, old leather, lavander, musk, mint, black tea leaves.
Graphite, coffee beans, and a little old cigar's perfume.
The mouthfeel is really concentrated and with exceptional acidity, with again a lot of fruitiness mixed with the others tertiary aromas that are quite already developed, but not overwhelming the pure fruit.
Minerality is there, along with silky, polished and developed tannins, that make your mouth really clean and ready for the next sip.
12,5 % of alcohol is really a sensation of drinking something non- alcoholic, no sense of heat or heaviness at all.
Elegance and power together.
The wine is drinking beautifully and seamlessly right now, very perfumed and elegantly spiced and with a perfect usage of oak.
It is far from its maturity.
Probably another 5 years, or maybe why not 10?
Exceptional Chateau, exceptional St. Julien.

Opened the night before.
Double decanted just before the meal.
The wine has a marvellous ruby red colour, quite thick viscosity and with just a soft brick rim.
Really elegant and noble on the nose, yet very intense.
Pure fruit, cassis’ nectar, smoked blueberries and black cherry coulis.
Nice mineral and “wet rock” character, mixed with noble nuances of decaying leaves, graphite, black truffles, mushrooms, old leather and a tobacco smokiness that comes all the way through.
Palate is full bodied and really concentrated, yet very fine and silky smooth, pure juice of fruit, with elegant spices like ginger, cinnamon, dark chocolate and gorgeous acidity mixed with a smokey feeling.
Tannins obviously present but partially mature.
Awesome lenght on the backpalate.
At 14 years this wine is starting to enter in its optimal drinking window, as now the wine is really balanced in all its components and it feels really pleasurable, liquid silk.
No way near its apex, that should be reached i suppose with 4/5 years from now, or even more.
14 % and far from any sense of heat.
Stylish and classic Pessac wine.
Has definitely the charme of his great brother, and the touch of the mythic winery.

Drunk during 3 days.
Pale almost burgundian-like ruby red.
Macerated strawberry and fresh vibrant cherries scent, candied violets, blood orange, really fruity and primary at first.
With oxygen it develops nice aromas of champignon de Paris, slightly black peppery notes and an earthy character.
Quite simple but quite elegant indeed.
Delicate yet quite concentrated mouthfeel, with a vibrant acidity and present tannins.
Not overly complex, but with a nice mushroomy/earthy classic finish.
Very dry and drinkable but very young, enjoyable in his youthness even if slightly unbalanced at the moment.
14 % that you can’t really notice on the palate, really quite elegant as a simple Langhe Nebbiolo.
It will be more ready in 2/3 years and maybe better after.
No oak used so i suppose this wine is also meant to be drunk at this stage and be really fruity and succulent.
Anyway great example of very well made 20€ wine.

Popped the night before.
Great intensity of different flavours on the nose for a Village level.
Starting with pure fresh cherry, strawberry coulis and some darker fruit too.
Sweet spices come trough after aeration, cinnamon, green cardamom, aniseed, rose petals, dried orange peel.
Really elegant and complex nose, with a nice finish of roasted cocoa beans and leather.
Mushrooms and barnyard after a while.
Silky and concentrated mouthfeel with high acidity and a great floral and spicy finish, tannins are evident but really sweet and delicate at the same time.
Good lenght and power for a Village wine, no sense of heat or alcohol and with a perfect minerality and savouriness that leads you to another sip.

It will be glorious in 5/10 years, but already a surprise and a very good drinking experience now.

Opened almost 24h before dinner.
Firs impression is really outstanding quality Merlot.
Sweet plum, blueberry and cherry compote perfume.
Quite opulent with developing aromas of hibiscus, violet, blood orange, milk chocolate and a breeze of tuscan countryside herbs. Balsamic and eucalyptus.
Not jammy at all.
With areation a great smokiness comes trough.
Very purity of fruit that comes also on the palate, with a good lenght and silky smooth but present tannins.
Simphony of red and black fruits on the palate with a great concentration, while still not being too powerful or too ripe. Quite elegant.
Cocoa and mint.
It’s really young but still a pleasure to drink now, really great balance between structure, acidity and tannin.
Will be more complex and drinkable in 3/4 years and will be a pleasure for the next 20 years.
14%.
Surely one of the top Merlots of Italy.

Opened the night before.
At first impression the nose was quite burgundian.
Barnyard, roasted cocoa, cassis, autumnal foliage.
The day after the nose was much more fruit forward with still cassis, lush blackberries, preserved cherries, violets and precious woods.
Graphite and tobacco with areation provide a good complexity.
Mouthwatering acidity with fairly good structure even with a very delicate approach. Seamless.
Very fruity on the palate with hints of cocoa, liquorice, tobacco, and a nice minerality and earthiness.
It will improve with 3/4 years but really drinkable and pleasurable at 10 years now.
12.5 % makes it a real velvet, with noble tannins.
Really nice Pauillac but i believe it will develop the Pauillac’s caratheristics with more time.
