This is actually a Rosso di Montepulciano not a Vino Nobile. At 15 euros in one of the many wine shops in the town it represents excellent value for money. The quality is very high, rich and tasty but not in anyway heavy, it is a perfect foil for the local cuisine. Think of it as a Bourgogne rouge in the burgundy hierarchy. Best drunk within a few years of the vintage.

Every bit as good as last time.

Given a 2 hour decant, it was singing an hour into the meal. And what a lovely tune!

Lovely now. Open for business. Rich fruit and lively acidity.

Unbelievably good uncomplicated wine for the price. This is the best vintage that I've yet had of this. A pleasure to drink with or without food. Sad that I only bought 12 bottles!

Unexpectedly delicious chianti from a village near Reggelo in the north of Tuscany. A delight with grilled rabbit and fresh porcini (the last of the season). 13.5%

Finally out of its shell, this is a very lovely example of a superior vintage wine. A real pleasure now.

Opened a couple of hours before serving at 14c this wine was very impressive and improved over time. I think that I'll decant the next bottle. A mature white burgundy with a degree of tension and a fine flavour.

My first bottle. Needs some open time. Probably best to decant an hour or two before drinking. A pleasant and not expensive Pomerol.

My third bottle of this vintage. I open a couple of hours before drinking if drinking slowly over an evening. Probably best longer if pouring out to a group. Drunk at 13C - 14C. A really good wine and justly scored at 92 points.

I've drunk a few bottles over the past year and found that, once opened, it improves steadily over an evening. Leaving the remaining stoppered half bottle in my kitchen (Scotland, 14C) it is so much better the following evening. I'm taking this to mean that it's not really ready yet and has some time to go to reach its peak. From a case bought on release and cellared "in bond" until November 2019.

Took the previous advice and decanted 3 hours prior to serving. A young and vigorous wine of medium weight with a bright colour and fine flavour. Tasted even better the following lunchtime. Looking forward to seeing how the rest of the case develops.

Crisp with some richness showing through. Light on it's feet, a good Rully startin to drink well now for those who like a bit of roundness in their white burgundies.

Offers a lot of easy pleasure. Not complex but not heavy, and with a lovely fruit.

This is maturing well. Quality burgundy at a reasonable price (when originally launched).

This wine is starting to enter its mature drinking window and it's going to get better. Lovely red burgundy, juicy and bold.

Top notch wine with an interesting taste profile drinking splendidly now

This is for the 2019. A particularly nasty wine. Rather like an oxidised retsina but without retsina's saving qualities.

Crunchy, sour cherried, moreish, excellent value claret. Every home should have some.

Three or four years ago another bottle was thin and lifeless. Tonight it sings. Wonderful old burgundy perfume and flavour. Wish I had more!

It was worth the weight and my wine merchants attempts to persuade me to sell him back the 6 pack. A lovely wine, lots of Merlot lushness with Cabernet Sauvignon backbone. A modern Italian that drinks well without food and a bargain.

A sumptuous but balanced wine. Long on flavour, round but with a refreshing acidity. A joy to drink. Where can I by some of this?

My third, and last, bottle of this excellent burgundy which shows no sign of tiredness or slowing down. For a village wine - sublime.

I opened a bottle of this and found that it was good. Not being able to drink it all, I put it aside planning to finish the second half the following evening. As it turned out I wasn't able to and only got back to it on the 3rd evening. I can only say "wow". I'll make a proper note when I open the next bottle but for now 93 is probably conservative as this wine is still developing....

I keep finding these odd bottles deep in my "cellar". This one, described as "a monster" by mr Parker many moons ago had a super crumbly cork so had to resort to the port screen. Bits of cork everywhere by the time I had it in the decanter. Yes, blueberries, rich and deep but with a refreshing acidity saw me through the first glass. From the on the wine developed, feisty but gentle enough. Lots of flavour and some length. Glad that I bought it all those years ago. Isn't wine a wonderful thing the way that it ages along with the drinker?

I found this at the back of my wine cupboard. Originally bought 24 bottles. They were drunk by 2010 leaving this orphan. Twenty three bottles had left me slightly underwhelmed but this one hasn't. Lovely expressive fragrant Cabernet Franc. Mature but no orange to the rim. Wish I had another case!

This has (finally) come good and is drinking very well. I say finally as it's my last bottle! It's so easy to drink red burgundy when it's all closed down and think it's gone over the hill. Happened to me before with a case of '85 Volnay Taillepieds from de Montille - ordinary, a little dull at 12 then suddenly magnificent at 15 but only a couple of bottles left alas.

Having opened 3 bottles over the past 3 months, I'm of the opinion that this wine is still evolving, it certainly improves overnight.
