Very mellow for a Rye. Nice on the front side. A bit short on the backside. One of those Ryes that everyone can drink.

Astringent, unbalanced. Glad this was a gift - will be giving it away.

Incredible nose of fruits leading off with mandarin oranges. Very balanced but lacks a bit of oomph for me on the finish.

Well balanced, powerful yet sweet and fruity. A few drops of water and a bit of time made a big difference.

Fruit forward for something that's been laying down for thirteen years. Smooth and well balanced. Continues to reinforce to me that any decent wine needs a good ten years after bottling.

Took a while to open up but boy was it good. Great balance, strong yet smooth, nice dark fruits with very polished tannins, especially for it's age.

Just love the minerality of the Pritchard Hill wines. This is a very structured wine with lots of power.

For what was supposed to be a poor vintage year this was an exceptional wine. Nice fruits all the way through, perfect structure with a slight mineral finish. Didn't have the minerality of a mountain fruit but very well balanced.

Powerful, well integrated, velvet smooth finish. Wow, it's amazing the consistency with which Manfred cranks out these awesome Grenache's year over year. IMHO, the beat Grenache outside of Rayas but in a totally different new world way.

Drinking perfectly right now. Wonderful nose, well integrated, great structure, more weight than a classic Burgundy but in a good way.

A bit early to drink but this one is a keeper. Excellent structure, grippy, crisp finish with the right balance of fruits and minerals. Wonderful across the entire palette. Will be better once it has some more time to resolve.

Took a few hours to fully take form. Really nice bouquet. Well balanced, good structure, unusual perfume on the finish.

This wine is drinking perfectly right now. Incredible balance and so well integrated. Dark cherries, cocoa with multiple dimmensionality and a smooth velvety finish that just keeps going and going. Quilceda is just gorgeous with time in the bottle to resolve.

Well balanced, very good structure, really nice balance of fruits and minerals. Wonderful nose that just kept getting better and better through the night. 2011 vintage suggests that it is not built to age but boy is it drinking well right now. Juan is really doing great things right now.

Super structure and very well integrated. Strong minerals with grippy tannins yet polished. This wine needs more time in the bottle and it will be unbelievable.

Loved the berries and floral bouquet. Mid-palette was a bit flat for me and finish was missing some structure. I definitely did not get the kind of satisfaction as the other reviewers but then again, my palette also leans towards the classic burgundies with a well structured finish. Going to let it breath for longer next time as it only decanted for about an hour before we drank it

Needs to lay down for another few years but you can tell this one is going to be special. Great fruit, high structure, long finish, lead pencils and ribeye.

A wonderful nose that just kept getting better. Bright and crisp but almost too much acid in the back end. Needs to lay down for a while and integrate. Wish I had started collecting Burgundies earlier...

Bright, crisp and decent structure. Came out of the gates a bit tight but opened up pretty quickly. Drank it head to head against a 2007 Marcassin Pinot. While this was the early winner, the Marcassin impressed with greater layers of complexity as the night wore on.

This is going to be the next Saxum as the vines mature. What a super wine for the price. Nice blend that is well integrated with a smooth, long finish. This bottle just got better and better as time passed. Nicely done Epoch!

I like the tension and structure of the Burgundies. The Jolie was fruit forward, with a nice mid-palette but just didn't have the structure and acids I am used to when drinking the Burgundies. Nose was quite nice though. Hard to tell how much better this would get with age but definitely drank well right out of the bottle.

A descent Syrah. Doesn't over power you but has good fruit and structure. Needs to be laid down for a bit longer to resolve itself. Finish was too chalky for my tastes. Leather, lead pencils, cocoa and dark cherries.

Ridiculously good. Well integrated, balanced and oh what a finish. Black currants, dark fruits, a hearty wine in and of itself. I am really impressed given it's price band.

Drank it against a 2005 Pavie and 2005 Ramey Pedegral. My first Time trying this particular label and it drank wonderfully. Well integrated, lingering finish, round tannins. Classic Oakville. This drank like a more mature wine despite the other two being six years younger. Suspect due to 2011 vintage that this vintage will need to be consumed on the earlier side which is fine by me. Realm continues to demonstrate quality wines at a reasonable price. Glad they finally got their Estate as well. Good times ahead for Juan and the Realm crew!

A bit early but this was a beautiful wine right out of the bottle. Fruit forward but well integrated, this wine is going to be stellar once it has time to resolve itself. Tremendous wine for $95

Wow, this wine was so well integrated and well balanced. Superb finish. Drank well out of the bottle but about an hour into the decant it really started to show itself. Lovely nose.

This wine is really well balanced and integrated. For the price is is one of the better value wines out there. A job well done for Coombsville. Many thanks to Augie K. for introducing me to this wine.

Heavy oak but after an hour of decanting it settled in really nicely. Full of fruit, well balanced and just a great finish. It's a big wine and will do great with some more time in the bottle
