December 2, 2023 - Drank along with 2001 Mugnier Les Amoureuses, this bottle of Roumier was clearly a few levels above its counterpart. It took almost 2 hours to fully opened up, refined, precise, sophisicated, and loaded with complexity. The best Les Amoureuses I have ever had! Excellent wine!

August 12, 2011 - Dinner with Amoureuses (The Bristol - Chicago IL): Another wine that was tough to assess. Even though it was decanted, this showed lots of mustiness when poured. Lean fruit from start to finish, this really showed lots of spice on the palate even if not on the nose. Very silky tannins stand out a bit on finish. This will really take at least another 10 years to show its full potential. Better than another bottle from a few years back.

November 3, 2009 - Roumier Dinner with 7 Vintages of Bonnes Mares++++ (Boka - Chicago IL): Single blind flight. Red cherry on nose and palate. Slightly off-balance, didn’t seem completely integrated. Slightly bitter finish shows a bit more spice. Other than the 1996 CC described above, the only disappointing wine of all 17 wines. Reading the Burghound review, we saw there was a stuck fermentation, which explained this bottle’s inconsistency with what we’d hope to see from a Roumier Amoureuses

November 3, 2009 - Roumier Dinner (BOKA Restaurant, Chicago IL): Briary red fruit with baking spice on the nose. Good spice on the palate, but overall something was just not right here. Medium bodied with a shorter finish.

May 16, 2007 - tasted at Tom Aikens in london.
bottle was in good shape. wine was lightening up around edges but was clear and tuby...nose was a little vegetal and alot of cherries and red fruit. tasted a bit one dimensional, sweet red fruits and again a little barny/vegetal with a slight tinge of metalic. bottle was in fine shape just the one was only nice not great
