    December 1, 2019 - Light to medium golden color; Toast points, slight whiff of smoke; fresh baked biscuit, just the slightest oxidative note (a good thing!) which adds complexity; lemon creme on palate with slightest hint of apricot, minerality; loads of energy still.     November 6, 2019 - Krug dinner at Farr Vintners (Farr Vintners London): From magnum - my wine of the night. Even better showing than during our recent 1995 champagne horizontal where we tasted it out of standard and magnum bottle. These bottles tonight seemed a bit more developed. In the glass a noticeable absence of fizz (which doesn't disturb me). The wine was golden in the glass. Roasted almonds, hazelnuts, toffee, smoke, brioche and a touch of orange marmalade? Very complex and simply the full package. WOW!

    October 21, 2019 - This has a strong krug'y burnt'y character. Not totally sure how to describe it. But it drank much better with oysters than on its own, though it is certainly a fine drink even on its own.

    September 12, 2019 - 1995 Vintage Champagne horizontal (Medlar (London)): From magnum served non-blind after the blind line-up a nice way to see the night out and thanks for the generosity Stephen! I had a slight preference for this out of standard bottle today (rated 96) as it had a bit more maturity on it seemingly due to the smaller format. The magnum is still fresher and doesn't at this point quite offer the depth it will most certainly gain. So 95 today and possibly 97 potential in 10 years+?

    (Krug) A very powerful nose, oaky and stony, oiled wood, this already seems like a powerhouse of a wine. Very firm on the palate, with lots of depth, very broad style, showing good depth and promise. Very stylish but very primary and immature, very indrawn and firm. It needs considerable cellar time, but rest assured this will be very impressive when mature.
