March 9, 2024 - High-end mature Riesling (Restaurant Brunnenstube, Beinstein): Glass: Schott Definition Universal
Beautiful Nonnenberg. Lean, precise, mineral. Unlike most others I preferred 2002 over 2001 this evening. Nevertheless high end Riesling that does not need to hide behind the Schlossberg. 93-94 -

September 12, 2020 - Georg Breuer - Vertical Riesling Nonnenberg 2001,2006-2018 + X (@Private location): *** brief not from vertical tasting ***
Glass: Gabriel Standard
Popped and poured. Clear, golden color. Warm, smoky and dense nose. On the palate speck, smoke, warm yellow fruit, nice medium+ acidity, very dense, deep and long. One of the better 2001 bottles so far. This bottle would have had potential for another decade. 93-941 person found this helpful Comment -

October 27, 2019 - Breuer Schlossberg ve Nonnenberg 1996-2008 (Weingut Breuer in Rüdesheim): Not blind, decanted for six hours
Not a perfect bottle, some cabbage, getting better with some air in the glas. 90 -

October 25, 2019 - Georg Breuer - Double vertical Schlossberg / Nonnenberg 1996-2008 (Weingut Georg Breuer, Rüdesheim, Germany): Glass: Stölzle White
All wines (except where noted otherwise) where double decanted about 7-10h before tasting. Medium golden color. Deep, ripe nose with some oxidative notes.
A bit leaner than the Schlossberg and with less energy. Acidity is a bit unbalanced and it has some oxidative nose. Even though this is not the best bottle I had of this wine, I think it was not flawed, but simply advanced. Nevertheless, still a very good and enjoyable wine. 90-91 -

April 3, 2019 - Asperg Wine Syndrome Tasting Group: Mostly Grünhaus with some side kicks (Private Location): Popped and poured, next time I would decant it 100% because the wine needs a lot of air. At the beginning more "dark" aromas of caramel, cold smoke and ripe yellow fruit on the nose. But the wine steadily developed some new notes with more time and air in the glass like wet stone, herbs and tobacco. A fascinating and very complex nose. On the palate ripe but elegant. The acidity is beautiful integrated into the wine but still very lively. The wine gets better and better over time. Very energetic, vibrant and with a mineral kick. Good amount of power and a lovely citurs kick on the long, long finish. A very impressive wine for me. Still fairly young.
