I drank this over the course of 3-4 days. On day 1 it was muted, almost as if it was a radio on its minimal volume (all components there, but just barely noticeable) and the volume got turned up a notch every day. On day 1 already clear it was refined and elegant, but hiding… When opened up some petrol, leesy, white peach, pear, melon, chamomile, even some orange peel. High acidity and a long finish with some phenolic bitterness

Outstanding, with everything we want in an Alsatian Riesling including great balance. I opened 1 hour before serving, but no decant. It evolved in the glass, the fruit was luscious, and the typical Alsatian petrol was there, though not overwhelming. It's dry, at 4g/l of sugar, which is our preferred style. Weinbach is one of our favourite Riesling producers and this wine aged beautifully, but I'm not sure it will age 25 or 30 years as the vintage was quite warm. Still, I'm in no rush to open my remaining bottle. I bought this in 2014, shortly after the unfortunate passing of winemaker Laurence Faller. This bottle is just another example of what a terrific winemaker she was.

Drank over 3 days. Improved markedly and really showed wonderfully on third day. Complex and intense, a superb mix of ripe citrus, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, honey and deep minerality. On the palate, it is rich and creamy with very good acidity for the vintage. Combines power and elegance. This wine is just emerging and should age well. Truly high class.

Medium yellow. No secondary aromas, just peach and black tea. Medium bodied. Vanilla and stone fruit. Glycerine and dry, tangy finish. Still youthful and undeveloped. Wonderful-sorry I went through them so quickly.

Very solid wine; tangerine and pear nose, mineral notes. Rich palate with counterpoint to the fruit richness provided by the great acidity. Overall dry and very full body. Love it.

Half bottle. Light yellow. Black tea and citrus. Medium to light weight. Dry, lemony fruit. Relatively taut for an '09, mineral finish. Bright, lively and excellent young Riesling.

Pale, Green-gold. Wet hay. Citrus, smokey, some chardonnay characteristics-very clear, clean Lemony, a little spritz. Full bodied, steely with a long finish-leaner than i would have guessed. Good acidity. Lay this one down. A very good quality wine

Wine spectator has this right -- different from other Alsacian rieslings I'm familiar with in that there is absent the grapefruit character that I have come to expect and like. Still a nice wine.

Pale gold. Nose of orange blossom and lime. Good weight but nothing excessive. Balance and acidity. Just delicious. No sign of this being a hot year.

Delicate and clean Riesling aromas. Soft, creamy and delicate, with great intensity. A great wine in a not so great vintage.

Excellent Riesling with subtle notes of lemon, peach and honey. Mild minerality with nice, long, creamy lemon finish. Drinking very well right now.

Ripe dry Riesling from Germany, Austria and Alsace (@Private location): Somewhere between the Rothenberg and the Kellerberg. Very good Riesling with quite some potential for further improvement.

Light yellow. As on all other occasions, medium weight, dry, lemony and long. More austere than I am used to at this address.
