Forgot to take notes, but this Brunello was drinking very nicely. Still some tannins and should easily have a few more years, but also good to go now. Was a great buy @ $39

Classic, lovely Brunello. Smokey, deep dried fruit, dark cherry. Nice acids underneath. Concentrated with a long finish; chewy, lingering and luxurious.

A nice btl from Luis a few nights back at our group wine dinner. Showing nicely resolved, elegant with emerging tertiary notes. I'd buy this if I spot it. The basic Caparzo BdM is a solid value but this cuvee shows more inspiration for not a lot more. One of the '06s to date. 93+

This La Casa was ready to pick and so we did. Complex and powerfull rewarded with the beauty of patience. The prunes, figs and forrest fruit are still in the picture, but generously covered by aromatic layers of funk, old books and tobacco. ‘Orange’ is also in my notes so I better write it down. This is how I like my big red!’

The wine is drinking well - it is quite light and fresh but with a dense structure - the nose gives you very clearly dark cherries - whereas in the mouth you get more sour cherries and cranberries - you also get earthiness and hints of leather - also some more sweet spices - the wine is giving you medium plus tannis and acidity - very nicely integrated. Good long aftertaste - we are happy to give solid 93.

Poured half a glass and let the bottle breath for an hour. The wine was dazzling, balanced and great with lasagna and rotisserie chicken. Plenty of life left for this -will be difficult to resist!

Tuscany 2006 (Winicjatywa): brownish, evolved colour. nose: harsh, bit green with some hawthorn notes. not easy. taste: robust tannic structure; earthy with some cherry flavours; not bad medium (+) acidity. Light side of Brunello.

Popped, poured, consumed over next 90 minutes. Started out very well and improved with every sip. This is nicely integrated and very enjoyable, but still surprisingly youthful. Should cruise in the cellar for years.

Color: transparent red with orange tones. Very dry when bottle first opened, so I carafed it briefly and returned it to bottle. After 1/2 hour was enjoyed by everyone. Very balanced. Dry but fruit present. A hit.

Pretty medium-lite red. Pure high-toned cherries with a little black pepper on the nose. Similar elements when drinking - cherries, cranberries, and blackberry bramble in the background. Very tasty finish. This wine is drinking very young and will benefit from another 6-10 years of age.

Floral with leather and dark cherry notes. Balanced and robust with a long elegant finish. Firm tannin with hints of black tea, dark chocolate and citrus fruit. Harmonious and fresh. Still so young. Drink 2018-2025

Very rustic and a great pairing with smoked bone in prime rib. Lots of dusty cherries, balsamic, tomato paste, fennel, cured wood. Still plenty of tannins to reslove but nice cherry fruit, a touch of VA but as a condiment and good acids. A wonderful food wine.

Very classically structured brunello here but so much fruit it was amazing. Dust, anise, rose stems and flowers, truffle, tobacco leaf and still great tannins structure. Sweet entry but turns rustic with an tannic finish. Great wine.

Sampled over two days. The intriguing and richly layered bouquet shows notes of sweet, ripe berries, deciduous and coniferous forest floor, mushroom, truffle, tar, tobacco, herbs, and flower petals. Juicy and vibrant attack, there is a kiss of 'sweet' tannins at the bracing and elegant mid palate. Structured and very long. High quality. Drinking very well now with air and showing no sign of peaking. Drink through 2025+. Thank you ES! 93-94.

Elegant expression of sangiovese, this violet red, slightly translucent brunello is medium bodied and of aromatic intensity, with sweet raspberries and cocoa, lavender and vanilla, evolving into a powerful and fervent persistent finish of cherries and ginger. Palate is still a bit unstable, however it carries huge acidic and tannic structure to build up into a complete wine. 94+

You think that I would listen to my own advice. This will be better in 3-5 years. Not that it is bad. If you have the time to decant it for 2 plus hours go for it.

Closed up a little. Floral with a waxy like aroma of leather. Big chewy tannin with a long finish. Cherry, sour red berries, and lemon. Great acidic grip that wraps this all together. Give it lots of air about 2 hours at this point.

Smooth elegant Brunello with sweet cherry, leather, vanilla and blueberries. Candle wax and flowers on the finish. long and smooth and silky. Well made with good structure. The acidity is so fresh and balanced and should carry this a decade or so.

Not that I was thinking that this was going to improve 5 to 6 weeks since I last had it, but I decided to have it any way. A great Brunello that needs 2-3 years at least to really show its true potential. I decanted it for 2 hours and it still needed another hour for the alcohol to dissipate. Really nice after that.

Very nice medium-bodied Brunello. Already gives hints of what the characters of the wine will be at its peek. Very promising. Will probably deserve a higher score in 2-3 years. Regrettably this was my only bottle.

Bramble with red fruit, leather and orange rind. Smooth lingering tannin. Nice fresh acidic finish with lots of grip after 2.5 hour decant. Medium bodied and elegant. A little hot and acidic now but will mellow a little with time in bottle.

Beautiful soft touch to the nose with delicate tertiary notes and some oak cask as well. On the palate the tannins and acidity are both balanced well, and very firm and distinct. Good backbone/structure. The fruit is there, but somewhat hidden. Some herbs and a little pepper is there as well. Very juicy and mouth-watering. Medium-long finish. Nice effort, although not the best Brunello, I have tasted.
