A little difficult on day one - starts of nice but ends with a biting tartness. By day two it had settled down - a nice rose. A was slightly disappointed - hoping for something to go toe-to-toe with my favorites from France.

Depending on the light, salmon to pale orange hue. Medium-bodied, slightly effervescent, citrus, strawberry and wet stones. Perfectly balanced with a crisp finish. Juxtaposes the elegant and the refreshing. This is one of the best domestic Rose wines.

Very pale salmon; looks like a white wine when held up to the light. Delicate flavors of pink grapefruit, strawberry, white peach, and currant, but you have to concentrate to find them. Somewhat muted and watery, especially at fridge temp, but some air and warmth help.
A pretty wine, but wimpy. Makes some French roses seem like they're from Orin Swift.

I'll put Morgan's rose up against any domestic producer. Pulled this "old" rose out tonight to pair with spicy tuna rolls and edamame. Great pairing. Almost orange color in the glass dominated by a peach and floral nose. Peach and lemon on the palate with some grass and floral notes. Great wine for the end of summer. Note to self, buy a case of the 2012 when it is released...

NC Cindy Tasting, August 2012 (Chateau WineKnurd): Very light in the glass, for the second wine in a row, the nose on this wine is not good. There is virtually no fruit, and almost a campfire smokiness. The palate has no fruit, either. No sweetness, no florals, no herbal notes. The only flavor left is a sort of dark minerality, but the wine is flat and not pleasant. I have a very high tolerance for TCA, but I have to believe this bottle is affected. This bottle has nothing in common with the other tasting notes posted here, and we discarded the entire bottle. I'm writing this off as flawed.

I had a single bottle left over from last Summer, which I sort of forgot about. Opened on a whim with tandoori chicken. I didn't expect much, as I have had little luck with holding rose wines. This one, however, was worth hanging on to. The nose is pure summer fruit, strawberries, nectarine, a bit of an herbal zing on top of it all. The palate shows remarkable purity, with white peach, rhubarb, fine acidity, and a bit of unexpected weight that lends it some substance. This is a really great rose, and one which I'm sure will hang on for a bit, though probably as good as it will get right now. Opened at cellar temp, and shows great there or a little warmer.

A fanciful pink salmon in the glass. Lots of floral notes, and soft berries. This is a great fall wine, with all sorts of secondary flavors. Savory and sweet at the same time. Really a well made bottle, and the old-vine Mouvedre. Would try this bottle again, but we all really enjoyed with cheese, crackers, and tapas.

Apricots and flowers on both the nose and palate, along with a ton of minerality. The mineral dominates everything else, making this a bit lacking flavor-wise.

Consistent with prior review - 100% Old vine (planted in 1888!) mourvedre, whole cluster pressed and fermented with native yeast in s/s. Underwent partial ML. Gorgeous eye of the partridge color. On the nose, I picked up fragrant aromas of raspberries, white peach, wet stone and a faint floral note. On the palate approaching medium bodied, dry with wonderful acidity and flavors of spicy white peach, a bit of citrus and mineral. Med-long finish. Excellent rosé. Wish I had more!

Salmon in color. On the nose peaches and a nice floral aroma. Palate - was caught off guard with the minerality as I have been drinking more fruity rose's this past summer. I really like the balance of strawberries, peaches and minerals. Well done.

Drank with chicken and steak kabobs. Aroma initially had a strange funk, but wore off after the first glass. Aroma and taste were both peach. Taste also had a hint of strawberries, but kind of not quite ripe strawberries.

Like Mootsie, my latest and last bottle of 4 is showing rounder than those in the spring. To me, this blurs the minerality somewhat. Very uneven on day 2 this time. My weakest bottle but I hesitate to ascribe that to time, could just be random luck.

Last bottle of this vintage. What I've noticed over the dozen or so of these that I 've had is while the crispness may have diminished, the tropical fruit tones have increased. It is becoming smoother with the fruit more prominent. It is also beginning to darken from the original pale orange color. Bring on the 2011. This juice is a delight.

A bigger rose. Somewhat orange tinged in color. Fresh floral nose with a touch of tropical fruit. Big zing of acidity on the attack, with plenty of energy, adding a tropical melon fruit character and a lingering acidity on the back end that adds a touch of pumpkin spice. Quite interesting and refreshing. Easy to drink in 100 degree Texas heat. Touch of heat, not too distracting.

Did not dig this wine. I found it lacked much enjoyable flavor, somehow coming off as rather watered-down. What I did taste was the heat (only 13.1%), and a hint of red berries. Just seemed dull. Definitely not an exciting wine, but I have tremendously higher hopes for Bedrock's reds.

Cant say I'm a fan at this point. Pale salmon color, low acid, more mineral than fruit. Just seems to be too much missing and the wine comes off as boring compared to the likes of Blankiet's or Kapscandy's. Yes, I know we are talking about completely different price points and grapes (this one is mourvedre) But a rose by any other name should smell just as sweet..... right? Morgan said is should put on weight and color with time. I'll hold the other bottle for at least another year.

Drank chilled during the hot afternoon. Very refreshing - but different then other Rose's. Light in color, light and crisp in flavor - hints of citrus and melon - but light in flavor- smooth with an easy finish. A little more body and this would have been a complete knockout. But it's excellent as it is!!

Very light peach color, very light. Watermelon, strawberries, baking spices, minerals, peach, and just a hint of earthiness on the nose. Very light body and crisp acidity. A bit more spice on the palate than the nose led me to believe. Nice length on the mouthwatering finish. Perfect for a hot day.

Beautiful light salmon pink in the glass. Served a bit too cold at first but once this opened up the nose is just wonderful with tart strawberries with the cloves mixed in. The mouthfeel is rich and lushious with bright red fruits. Acidity is decent but not as crisp as I would like for a Rose on a hot day. Finish lingers for 20secs. Paired wonderfully with the homemade fish tacos!

Once again, my faith is restored in this wine (and my palate!). After the last bottle I had, which I found soapy tasting and less than pleasing, this bottle showed like the first 2 bottles of this I tried. That is to say, it rocked. This beauty shows grapefruit, lemon, and beautiful minerality all in great balance. I seem to be praising this more than anyone else, but I'm sticking to my guns and staying with the 93 point score. To me, this is an incredible rosé that rivals Domaine Tempier's benchmark Bandol wine.

It's funny, but every time I try this I like it less. The 2009 version was vastly superior, in my opinion. Tonight this seemed disjointed, and had a somewhat chalky texture and bitter mid-palate. I liked the very-Bandol 2009; this one has none of that character (though in all fairness it is a totally different wine in many respects, and I believe intended to be so).

Almost clear salmon colour. Nose showing rose petals and minerals. The palate has evolved since the last bottle and I find the rose water has moved more to the background. Still plenty of minerals, though a less chalk taste this time. Long finish and the mineral taste really lingers. Definitely better slightly chilled than really cold. Fun wine.

Extremely pale peach color, this rosé featured tasting notes of white pepper and strawberry. A hint of cantaloupe was present was in the background. At times, I also noted slight bitterness on the finish. Overall, this was nice, though I would have liked the crispness dialed up a few notches.

All the fruit tones are still there, but a tartness/bitterness has emerged on the finish. With that, the '10 is a little behind the '09 in terms of my favorite. Both are great roses, but the '09 has a little more elegance to it right now. Cheers!

Lighter, softer and less assertive than the 2009 version. Very light color, sort of a pale copper/salmon. Palate is airy and refreshing, a bit soft through the mid-palate, and a touch bitter on the finish. I enjoyed the first bottle of this I tried a number of weeks ago a bit more, though this is still quite nice.

My 11-year-old son looked at this wine in the glass, squinted, looked from another angle, straightened up and said - "Dad, that's not a rose. That's a white." From the mouths of babes. A classy, tart/sweet summer sipper of a white, salmon-tinged. Delish.

Soft and lovely, doesn't quite play the role of classic rose's, but begins to form its own niche as a rich, but light food compliment. Goes well with lots of dishes from salads to bbq meat.

Pop 'n pour. There was something not right about this bottle -- it just did not show that well at all. The major thing for me was a soapy flavor that was quite prominent. If giving a score, I would say about 85-87, but the previous bottles I had of this were so much better. Therefore, I'm just going to call this one flawed.

Great wine by Bedrock here. It's got great aromatics that lead to a focused palate of honeysuckle and melon. Very clean and refreshing. I also suggest, as others have noted, letting it warm a bit at some point in your enjoyment - 65-70 degrees will allow you to see some depth and nuance rarely seen in a Rose' - bravo - impressive!

Quite pale in color. Pretty, light and elegant. Flavors of watermelon and strawberries, with a solid mineral streak. Juicy acids and a medium finish. A delicate wine, with a slightly hot finish for me. The alcohol is not overly high, so I'm not sure why I got the heat... perhaps because the fruit is so delicate? Overall, a very pleasant wine which I would probably repurchase. On the second day this picked up a fuller profile, more peach and melons on the palate, but the mineral notes thankfully remained. Quite nice.

Almost clear salmon colour. Nose showing rose petals and minerals. Smooth palate of rose water, tart strawberry with plenty of minerals, especially a huge chalky taste. Long finish and the chalky mineral taste really lingers. Good balance, with just enough acidity to keep it lively. Really fun wine, recommended serving it only slightly chilled for maximum flavour.

Was torn with this wine between chilling to accentuate the acidity, or to let it warm, which brings out the rich variety of subtle flavors. Either way was quite enjoyable, especially with food.

Probably the best rose I've ever had (granted, I don't drink too much rose!). A very light color, as others have mentioned. Got lots of minerals and citrus, went quite nicely with barbecue chicken.
Very light salmon. Interesting chalky texture and hints of tannin. Low to medium acidity, but enough. At the beginning, the fruit took a background role to minerality and rosewater but as the wine warmed and opened up, tart strawberry and raspberry came to the front. Really, really nice and unique in my experience.

Tasted over two days. Again, this blew me away with its beautiful flavors and elegant charm. This really didn't show much until it warmed close to room temp from refrigerator temp. When it did, the nose showed nice citrus and mineral aromas. The palate showed a hint of watermelon, white peach, and some rose petal, but make no mistake, this is a mineral-driven rosé. Perfect balance with a long, wonderful finish. The memories of this wine are still haunting me long after the last drops were sipped.

pale peachy color, like juice from a cantaloupe but watered down a little. Aromas of peach and apricot with a hint of citrus zest. Beautiful flavors of underripe white peach and nectarine, a little lemon zest on the finish. Seemed to have a hint of herbaceousness underneath the stone fruit. This has a lovely smooth mouthfeel, and zippy acidity which make it perfect as an appertif. Believe Morgan's statement on the label -- this is "bone dry" -- there is no residual sugar. Really nice rose, perfect for a summer evening.

Winemakers you know (Mike G. visits) (Mike Posk's): Orange/pink in color. The nose is more peachy with a bit of strawberries. On the palate, more peaches. Clean and nice. Smooth and without the bitterness I sometimes find in Rose's. I enjoyed this and it would be a great way to start a summer evening.

Probably drank it too soon after shipment, but this didn't blow me away as I hoped it would. Fairly tropical nose of peach, guava, pineapple. On the palate those same tropical notes on the attack through the finish. I felt like the acidity was lacking a bit for a Rose, but to be fair I like a great deal of acidity in my Roses and white wines. No score because the bottle's all gone and this is from memory, but I'd put it at around an 87-88 for my palate. Very good, just not great.

This mourvedre rose is considerably more weighty than the color/hue might suggest. This has a light pinkish/peachy color. But, the palate is bold with peach, dry stones, some spice/licorice. This is young and needs air/decant. As PIntag states, this is reminiscent of a Bandol. Nicely done.

Pop & pour - consumed over 3 hours. Very light salmon color - much lighter than most rosés. Initially, a bit sharp and unbalanced - needed about 30 minutes to open up and even out. But did it ever! Nose was subdued but displayed some nice wet gravel and citrus. On the palate, fairly light bodied but showed beautiful minerality with some depth and great balance. Very interesting and enjoyable wet stone flavors with light citrus nuance. Very Bandol-like. I find this to be much better than the 2009 version. Loved it!

Quite nice.

Very interesting and enjoyable wet stone flavors with light citrus nuance. Very Bandol-like. I find this to be much better than the 2009 version. Loved it!
