At GW Fins in New Orleans with Estie and Danny. Medium yellow in color. Lemon zest and apple on the nose. Pears and citrus in the mouth with a tad vanilla and butterscotch, along with a stone nuance. Full bodied, well balanced with nice acidity. Good finish. It went well with all ll of our seafood.

Medium yellow, big ripe nose of butterscotch, pear, pineapple, lemon curd and flinty/mineral undertones, palate moves from strength-to-strength with white peach, wet stones, floral lift and mineral streaks, finish is long, ripe and perfectly in balance

Chassagne Montrachet Flight (Arlequin Wine Merchant, San Francisco): Gorgeous floral aromatics with the steeliness that I associate more with Puligny than Chassagne. Medium to lighter bodied, wonderful texture, some leesiness underneath. Lemony, lactic, fine and great length. The first wine and for me, the best in this line up. Just so pure and expressive, almost Grand Cru level.

Medium + intensity on the nose, vanilla & butter, green apple, grapefruit, lemon, apricot, somewhat smoked, very rich. Still very young with very good potential. On the mouth full bodied, very well balanced, medium alcohol, high acidity, stoney minerality, lemon, green apple, complex. Long and very pleasant finish.
France 2013 - Côte d'Or; 4/20/2013-4/23/2013 (Beaune): Sulphur dominated the nose at first but most of it blew off quickly leaving gunflint, lemon, apple and sea breeze notes. Nice weight on the palate with good acidity and a softer minerally finish. This was quite expressive at first but seems to have tightened up a bit on the nose. Should improve with a few years of age. Excellent. 90+

Taste: Medium/full bodied with medium/high acidity. The structure is relatively imposing with well balanced tones of custard, minerals, white fruits, and some lemon curds.
Overall: This is very young, and like the other Niellon if this can avoid prem-ox it should really develop into something really good.

Final Friday at Domaine (Domaine Wine Storage - Chicago, IL): Flinty with really nice pear and apples on the nose. The palate had some oak, but it was integrated pretty nicely. A pretty nice package all together...thought the Chaumes was slightly better.

Delicious medium body chardonnay. Nice body and complexity. Drinking well, but certainly could improve over the next few years.

Medium weight. Oak on the nose and the finish. Citrus, tart fruit on the finish. Best wine of the night.

Friday Domaine Tasting- 09 and 10 Red and White Burgundies (Domaine Wine Storage, Chicago IL): Nose: This has a fatter quality to the nose with tones of custard, flinty minerals, white peaches, and some tones of lemon curds. There is very good depth with some style to this as well.
